I just did a phone interview for my radio station with Dustin Watchman, who plays Scott Jackson aka sceve and he said to expect to see animals on the island we haven't previously seen. he just finished filming scenes for the Nikki/Paulo-centric episode. he also confirmed (in not so many words) that is an on island flashback. he was filming scenes of the plane crashing.
