Sawyer: Okay Tarzan, now that you're back from your little Blow-up-everything-that-could-get-us-off-the-island tour, how about you tell me why you joined up with the damn enemy.
Locke: I didn't join them, I infiltrated them.
Sawyer: You're undercover with the Others?
Locke: That's right.
Sawyer: How about you give me one good reason to believe that.
Locke: Because a few hours ago, I snuck into Ben's tent and kidnapped him. I tied him up and dragged him off into the jungle.

Spoiler: Desmond/Hurley/Charlie Scene
Charlie: We have to tell Jack.
Hurley: Yeah, I mean, shouldn't he check out her wound?
Desmond: Can you give me your word that Jack can be trusted? He spent ten days with those people and then nothing happened to him. And that woman he's spending all his time with?
Charlie: Juliet?
Desmond: Aye, Juliet. Two weeks ago she had your friends in cages. Naomi, everything that she said, if we keep her safe, she's our way off this island. So, given that, do you trust Jack, or don't you?
(Both Charlie and Hurley stay silent)
Desmond: Right. We better bring her someone we can trust.

so know Des has confirmed Jack was with the 'others' for ten days..that mean Mike and Walt have been gone for about 14 days, I didn't see any food or water on the boat they left on so they would nearly be dead by now unless they have been rescued.

So they need to bring in someone they CAN trust!! Hmm anyone any guesses - gotta be Sayid hasn't it? Anyone else that might beable to help them and be of any use...that they can trust? Sawyer possibly because he'll be against the others but i still think they'll feel he'd tell their secrets if it furthered his position - so my guess is Sayid? Anyone ese?

I go with Sayid too, followed by Sawyer. I loved the scene where Sayid & Sawyer worked together with Juliet getting the medical supplies for Claire. I think those two guys will end up in the same team at the end of the season, I really do. They think alike.

It sure seems like Locke is referring to Ben and not Cooper as his abductee. However, I'm not sure it's all not a big test for Sawyer designed by Ben.

Yeah, but I don't think Desmond has enough clout to be a leader yet. He only returned from his futile sailing voyage on Nov. 25th (acc. to lostpedia timeline). That's only three weeks prior to this clip, roughly. It looks to me like Hurley and Cholly are wondering what sort of guy this Desmond dude really is as much as wondering about Jack's loyalty to them.
Desmond may be an instigator in the split, but I doubt he'll be a leader. More likely he joins Locke and Sawyer against Jack.
