If he dies I am going to stop watching the show... although I think there is less of a chance of him dying after reading this TV guide.

He's not going to die, people. He's too integral to the Penny storyline.
I'm starting to agree that there is less and less of a chance that Dessy will kick it anytime soon with these new reports coming in.
And I do have to say that the Darlton comments in the second picture may just very well be the funniest things I think I've read in a TV Guide.

That Desmond synopsis is referring to 4.05, right?
So... why is that everywhere I read it doesn't say we're getting a full 16 episode season?

We aren't getting a full 16 because there isn't enough time to make all of the back 8. They are cutting it back to 13 and reworking the pace of the story to accommodate the fewer episodes. The three episodes will be made up in season 5 and 6 I assume.
I'm guessing you've heard about the writers' strike? If not, nothing was written for nearly 100 days due to a bad contract no longer being acceptable as-is by the members of the Writers' Guild of America, which delayed production across all of the networks and shortened most shows' normally 23-24 episode season down to about 16-20. Since Lost was already shortened to 16 and only had 8 episodes written before the strike, it was reduced even further to 13.

13 episodes YAY!!!! They can rework it, definitely and then accomodate the other three into S5 or 6, like the other poster said.....and Penny's in epi 5, interesting!
