Just a small snippet that came out of the recent gala benefit for the Honolulu Theatre for Youth last weekend. Nothing that we don't already know or could have guessed.
After their performance, the actors bid at the silent auction and mingled with grateful guests. In their typical, obtuse fashion, some hinted at what's to come on Season 5 of "Lost," set to launch in early 2009.
"I'm reunited with John Locke, and it's powerful and shocking," said Emerson, eyes twinkling (probably since the last shot of Locke's face was framed by a coffin). Mitchell said no one character carries the show. Instead, it revolves around "little bits of all of us." Furthermore, "none of the usual people are hanging together," she added. "New alliances are forming."
As has always been the case, even the actors don't know what's coming from week to week. Mitchell noted that "we still laugh and gasp when we read the script."

Wow. Wow wow. I mean WOW!!
Thank you very much Dark !

Wow ME has a big mouth! :)
Why is that such a surprise.
1- We know they're trying to get back to the island, with Locke's body, which some think might be resurrected by the island.
2- He could be talking about the scenes he's been filming with Locke, Abbadon and Walt.
I wasn't surprised, but it is still quite something to say when future episodes are supposed to be hush-hush
It's a suprise because of the phrase 'powerful and shocking'. Personally, I think Ben and Locke are going to have reunion sex which will encompass both the forementioned adjectives.
'Shocking' = a wheelchair-bound Locke.
We can't say it's surprising and shocking, unless we know what the situation is about. But if it is shocking, then I would think of that the situation is not Ben convincing Jack to go back with Locke's body, not that off-island part, but something else - then I would say WTF!
Powerful and shocking reunion happens BEFORE Locke dies, folks.
Locke was off-island before he died, and Ben would have been off-island for months and months by that point.
It makes sense they met before he died. Simple.
Is it possible that when the O6ers go back to the Island, the whole scene with Jack getting nutty about getting his dad's coffin on the plane was really about getting Locke's body in CS' coffin on the plane???
Nice one!
I can't wait for Locke's and Ben's reunion. Those two are brilliant together.
BTW, I love what Elizabeth Mitchell said: things revolving around little bits of everyone and also, not the usual hangings as new alliances are forming. Sounds just perfect.

But in the last scene in last episode of S4,Ben don't seem to know what Locke said to the O6. So for me, that mean that Ben and Locke have never met before... Unless Ben lie.
What if it's Ben who kills Locke in this 'Powerful and Shocking' reunion? Well, it would be shocking. Oh no wait, Ben's tried that before. Nevermind.
^^^^^ I could see Ben telling Locke that the only way to go back and convince everyone else to go back is to kill himself and would be reincarnated back at the island. Maybe Locke goes around and talks to all the O6 and Walt but they don't believe him. So Ben tells Locke the only way to fully convince them is to kill himself and that would be sort of the tipping point for everyone finally realizing they have to go back. Although it would be a cool scene if Ben and Locke agreed that Ben had to kill Locke in order to make it work. "Shocking and powerful" indeed.
let's see:
Locke and Ben
Ben and Sayid.
Hurley and Sayid.
Juliet and Sawyer.
Jack and Kate.
Daniel/Miles/Charlotte
Now tell again where the shocking new alliances are? Unless I'm horribly wrong, here. But seeing the little snippets, that seems about right.

^ Just because he didn't know what Locke told the Oceanic 6 does not mean they didn't meet.
What if Locke was brainwashed into not trusting Ben again before he left the island by Richard. That'd be pretty shocking: Locke discarding an anti-hero we now know and love (Ben). It'd also be pretty powerful: we know that if Locke listened to Ben, he probably wouldn't die because Ben would have helped him.
Imagine the reunion: Ben nervously stepping forwards to meet a disabled Locke, now fully cured of his own crippling illness thanks to Jack. Locke is once again selfish and abrupt with people (how he was in the wheelchair) and brainwashed against Ben to boot. He then wheels straight past Ben, ignoring him as Ben shouts out "I'm trying to help you, John.", or something like that.
That'd be shocking - we wouldn't expect Locke to do that. And powerful as well. Ignorance is a huge thing to do a person who you once had such a big bond with.

^ Jack and Ben, for starters, no? We've never seen them work together yet. It was a teaser at the end of Season 4, but we haven't seen any actual alliance yet.
Well, Ben and Desmond is kind of shocking to me, given what Ben promised to do. Ditto Sun and Ben. Apart from those, hmm...
Actually, how awesome would it be if Locke DID plan to visit Ben and did, only for Ben to see Locke's death with his very own eyes? That'd be shocking and powerful, too. As in, Ben didn't know what Locke said to the Oceanic 6 because Locke died in his arms before he was able to tell him too.
There's a lot of reasons for Ben not knowing what Locke told the O6. They could have easily met before Locke died, but Locke just didn't have a chance to tell him/chose not to tell him, right?
Everyone keeps secrets on Lost. They may not always consider them secrets, they just don't bother to share information that we, the audience, consider important or they say something cryptic that isn't really understood. Secrecy, half truths, or just plain not saying anything is what drives half the plotlines. I could easily see Locke and Ben meet up before he dies and Locke not tell Ben much, if anything, about meeting the O6 and what he says to them.
