I mean why are they calling it "island mystery" as if they want to keep the suspence when the second half of the press release obviously reveals what the "mystery " is?

See, my butt was about to implode from too much taco's so I tried to get into the toilet but it was locked so I put the key in and turned it, and BAM, I was suddently travelling back in time with all the times I almost crapped my pants flashing before my eyes. i think the mystery island about two fellow survivors it's about pikki ! don't forget it's their episode and the second storyline it's about sun and charlie ;) that's the way that i think it :)

Definitively we know Sawyer was involved in the kidnapping thingy with Sun, to get the guns by his con and his accomplice was Charlie.
I think Hurley finds out, that Sawyer was the suspected mastermind and Sun finally gets angry about Charlie and Sawyer
but heh, we are in Lost, so there will be an additional thing we all do not know yet!
Perhaps Josh Holloway gave a hint in one of his last interviews, he hinted, Sawyer could be beaten up again soon, probably by a woman ...
although in my opinion, if that will be the way to go, it is really unfair towards Sawyer, it seem the makers are going to take the stuffing out of Sawyer
and he is rather defenceless without Kate and Jack around, even the last ping-pong match was a hard slight against him and this after he just pretty vulnerable came 'home' ...
I really can understand when Josh Holloway himselfs starts to think about the need of a heroical death for Sawyer,
so much pain and things turning in a really bad way against one, no one can stand it !

This might be off, but I think the "island mystery" refers to Nikki and Paulo. Maybe Sawyer is somehow involved with those two, hence island mystery -- it is their flashback episode after all.
Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said we will found out that jack and claire are siblings/half-siblings in the next episode.
i think perhaps the others spill too jack that he has a half sister called claire, afterall they know everything about him don't they.
hmm....The expose' episode is AFTER the par avion episode where by the end of it we will know who both Claire's parents are thus we will know that she has the same father as Jack.
And what's up with all the french?? Par avion which means by aeroplane, expose' which means exposed...
Oh! Sawyer involved in an island mystery! If it is about what happened to Sun, it's not so mysterious, but it is dangerous to him because he is in a very bad situation now, Sawyer is not so strong at this time.

I think either Sawyer's going to lie so well he'll deflect any thoughts of him being involved with the whole Sun kidnapping or he'll convince Hurley not to tell on him (somehow). The main reason I don't think Sawyer will be uncovered? Kate would never forgive him, and the producers have made it clear that they aren't over by a long shot.
A lot of you are posting the wrong information. Expose is not after Par Avion. Expose is episode 14, which is after The Man From Tallahassee.
Also, this episode will likely not have anything to do with the Jack-Claire issue as it will already have been discussed 2 episodes earlier.
i bet theyll be a scene where ethan asks nikki and paulo about themsleves so he can report back to the others

Translation: Hurley begins to understand that Sawyer is "not in synch" with the current island timeline. Why? Remember when Sawyer says to Nikki: "who are you?" Well, he literaly meant "I never saw you before".
If Nikki and Paulo are the result of Desmond messing around with the timeline, this could convalidate the theory.
And if you add that Boone, Shannon and Dr.Artz will be guest stars in the same episode .... hmmm ... maybe this is not just a long shot.
Um, the person that just pointed out the whole Sawyer - "who the hell are you?" being down to the fact he wasn't there or whatever, complete thumbs up.
And...
I was wondering cos i'm not going back to watch the first season again (6th time), maybe the fact Boone and Shannon are in this flashback is because, in the first events that occured, Shannon and Boone we're lucky to get their seats if i rememner correctly. One of them said something like that, that the other passengers originally on those seats left the plane or cancelled at last minute. WHAT IF Desomnd messing with the time slightly meant that something he did impacted on Nikki and Paulo and they did get on the plane afterall? Then maybe Sawyer or someone mentions Shannon or Boone and the people on the island are like "dude, who are Shannon and Boone?"
That make sense?
I can't quite fully explain it in detail, but thoughts?!?!

Ok, so below is a line taken from the offical ABC press release for episode 14, "Exposé", which i will base my theory/spoiler on. PS we know this episode will be a Paulo and Nikki flashback.
I kinda titled this thread like this and put it in the spoilers cos I didn't wanna misinform or annoy anyone. Hope it's all ok!

Ok so where to start, i posted this on the comments bit of dark's site I think it was.
A lot of people are thinking it means Hurley suspects the Charlie/Sun kidnapping thing and Sawyers involvement, and some think it's Nikki and Paulo. I'm inclined to go with the latter, and here is where my little theory about this comes into play.
The writers have always said they know the fans detest Paulo and Nikki, but have a great idea for their flashback and will be similar yet different to 'The Other 48 Days", and will hopefully convert the mindsets of the Lost faithful.
I'm piggy backing this on someones comment that Hurley looked at Sawyer funny or intrigingly after Sawyer's (now famous) comment to Nikki in "Enter 77" - "2, who the hell are you anyway?" or something to that degree. Now my theory goes that, if I can remember back to Season 1, and a Boone/Shannon flashback, one of them, possibly Boone mentions that they were lucky to get their 'first class seats' due to the couple either cancelling or not showing up on time. ALSO when the losties had their mass burial session of all the bodies from the crash, Hurley mentions that 2 of the dead people were on the plane and really loved up, really happy, or someone else said that. Ok, bare with me this is going to be hard.
If when 815 crashed, Shannon and Boone were sat in Paulo and Nikki's seats and they survived, then Paulo and Nikki originally died in the crash. Ok? Make sense?
Why would that happen?
Well, if Desmond's going back in time or reliving part of his life managed to somehow impact on Paulo and Nikki maybe when the time came for 815 to leave Sydney, Paulo and Nikki got to their first class seats and hence Shannon and Boone were forced to sit in a different section, in their original seating. This would mean that when 815 crashed on the island Shannon and Boone died and Paulo and Nikki survived. This would explain how it seems like the islanders seem to know them both like they've been there all the time. Of course another possibility is that due to Desmond's time tinkering, Shannon and Boone never got seats and never went on 815. So maybe the flash to them is of them, off island, in real time happy and alive. But my initial thinking is Shannon and Boone got their original seats meaning they died and Paulo and Nikki survived.
Only thing is, I can't work out why Sawyer would be immune to the change. I mean i can't explain why he doesn't know who Nikki is etc. If they all do, he should.
Please, discuss this. I really think I'm onto something here and need some help!!

Actually I like the idea of Sawyer being part of a bigger mystery/mythology in regards to the island, so I'm all for it.
i sort of like the theory...
but it doesn't all add up. i mean, in ttid, we see nikki and kate hugging at sort of talking at the reunion.
if sawyer was not affected by this turn of events, then why wouldn't kate be, and wouldn't she have asked nikki who she was-- i mean, even though we don't see them talking together doesn't mean that all of the losties don't know eachother.
i'm thinking that sawyer's comment 'who the hell are you' was more of a, i've never talked to you before, and why are you hanging around with us type-of-thing.
even though i really like the whole different timeline theory, and would be a great segway into the whole 'desmond changing the universe', i'm inclined to believe that it will just turn out that nikki and paulo hung out with the other group, and for some reason or another, they hatched some scheme to 'join' the a-team, and are planning to take them down. maybe they even knew that eathan was an other (ethan could have told the d-team people about his plan)... well never mind-- scratch that.
actually-- your idea is really good-- didn't the producers say that something about shannon and boone and how all the fans would be blogging about them.
come to think of it-- your theory works perfectly. it would not only cover the 'shannon boone blogging' thing, but it could also explain why none of us had never seen nikki and paulo until this season-- because they had never been on the island the first time round.
something i wanted to mention-- what is with this 'mr. zuckerman the tv producer' about. are the pikki fb's gonna be from off island, and then on island? could that possibly be how we see shannon and boone getting on the plane in different seats? nikki and paulo have a meeting with a tv producer, something with the tv producers changes this second time round so that that nikki and paulo decide to go on the plane, we then see shannon and boone behind them at the counter for tickets, they don't get the first class tickets this time because pikki has them, so then they buy tickets for other seats, and then they wind up dead when the plane crashes.

i think sawyer asking "who the hell are you?" is just a comment on the way that the fans reacted with the introduction of Nikki and Paulo
i think that theory sounds pretty good, to be honest.

I thought Shannon and Boone lost the seats in first class because of a mix up or something and thats why they survived, thet were in the fusulage and not in the front part of the plane.
THe theories that Desmond changed time so SHannon and Boone died and Nikki anbd Paulo survived are rubbish because how would Locke know who Boone was in 3x03???
Sawyer knows them. Don't you remember him and Paulo fighting over a magazine. It didn't seem that Sawyer was confused about who he was....

I bet Claire mentions something to Sawyer (maybe she uses the same line as Jack and Christian-"That's why the red sox will never win the world series") and he remembers Jack telling him the story of how his father used to say that!!!
