Mobisode #12 - “The Envelope”
[A timer is beeping. Juliet runs to the oven and gets her muffins out. She burns her hand. The doorbell rings. She runs her hand under water. It’s the woman from the beginning of ATOTC, Amelia. Amelia gets her something from the freezer.]
Juliet: I’m fine. I’m really fine. I just, I need to clean up before everyone gets here. Thank you.
Amelia: It’s him, isn’t it?
Juliet: What? Who?
Amelia: Ben. Did you invite him today?
Juliet: Thanks for [….Things are kinda awkward…]
Amelia: Finally told you how he felt, huh?
Juliet: He didn’t, he didn’t say anything. It’s just complicated. Okay?
Amelia: Complicated doesn’t make you cry.
Juliet: I burned my hand.
Amelia: That doesn’t make you cry either. What happened Julie?
Juliet: I think, I think we’re in big trouble.
Amelia: Are we?
Juliet: I need, if I show you something, do you promise not to tell anyone? Do you swear? Not anyone.
[Amelia nods her head. Juliet goes to a drawer and pulls out a large manila envelope from under the silverware tray. She starts to open it, and the doorbell rings.]

Interesting mobisode!
I believe Juliet was going to show Ben's x-rays to Amelia, that's what was on the envelope.
OMG, Amelia! Maybe we finally get the confirmation that the Amelia from A Tale Of Two Cities is Amelia Earhart!!!!!
I'm afraid that's not the case breakaleg ;)
For those of you who want to download the mobisode from MegaUpload (highest quality!) - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HB40EI71
so Juliet's got a macbook air and she really doesn't want ben to find out?
exciting stuff
excellent mobisode... but why the music at the beginning don't play???
Sigh. Juliet. She could have a mobisode about her love for animal crackers and I'll love it. LOL!
There is a missing piece in the transcript "Juliet: Thanks for [….something unintelligible…]"
I think it is Juliet: Things are kinda akward
Ben's feelings for Juliet were no secrets, I wonder if that'll be an issue to come up in the 4th season. But I doubt Ben will try and do anything to sabotage her actions.
I don't reckon it's Ben's X-Ray at all...
What if it's something to do with Flight 815..? ie. the plane which, soon after this, would crash on the island?
That would be a shocker to end the mobisode season with... the fact that Ben knew that Flight 815 was going to crash... before it happened and before Desmond failed to push the buttons.
Presumably next week's mobisode, the last?, will show something like this... making everyone excited about the new season (even more).
Interesting!
I agree with lost. Juliet says: Things are kinda awkward.
Whenever there is Abrams, there is the mysterious. At the end of this mobisode, I considered the previous mobisodes that are written by Damon, and now here it is by Damon and Abrams! I'm not shocked the not-seen-what's-inside-the-envelope thing - it's the "magic box" of Abrams. :D But I don't think that it's something very mysterious about the envelope, I think it's a little stuff that connects things with the beginning of season 3 and the near-the-ending of season 3.
BTW, somebody told previously that the last mobisodes will be making us thrilled and excited about season 4... well... it actually DOES; Juliet mobisodes rock IMO, and this one even more rocks! :P
Those are Ben's x-rays in the envelope. This is a deleted scene of ATOTC. EM talked about exactly the same scene in the audio commentary on the DVD.
Um, I'm confused, how can this fit in with what we saw in the season 3 premiere?
It fits just fine. It's just a deleted scene. The envelop just holds Ben's x-rays.
why does ameilia think that juliette is upset cause of ben
perhaps cause juliette cried when ben said he cant let her go home
why does juliette say "its complicated" someone said it before that.
what got her crying?
"i think were in big trouble" what could get em in big trouble? 815? naomy? penny? the x-ray?
"promise to not tell wnyone" why? cause if they'll know then what? that ben is a liar? that ben is dying?
im guessing that she was sad cause she knows somethin bad has either happend or about to happen , either killings , or about ben's past with dharma
WHAT WHAT WHAT
I'm assuming because Ben developed a tumor on his spine, and they didn't have a doctor to treat him, that Juliet was crying because she knew Ben was eventually going to die. Then it so happened that a spinal surgeon "fell out of the sky".
However, it also makes you wonder -- couldn't Ben have just gotten off the island for treatment? They had realized Ben had the tumor way before the "purple sky" incident.
It's a totally cryptic dialogue and hard to decipher.
Um, I'm confused, how can this fit in with what we saw in the season 3 premiere? - red moose studios
It was part of the opening sequence. It fits between the scene where Juliet burns the muffins and the book club meeting. There were even some promo pictures of this scene with Amelia.
OMG!!! Ben DOES love Juliet? Is that what I'm gathering here??
Is this a deleted scene? Some people are saying that it is? Does anyone know for sure?
wait. she said: Things have gotten awkward.
It has nothing to do with 815. It's Ben's x-rays, and Juliette is freaked out because the man who said no one gets sick on this island managed to get himself a very progressed form of sickness. They're in trouble because he's a liar. She's sad because now she knows she must get off the island, but there is no way to. She knows she made a mistake. It is that simple.
Rawr! I bet this Amelia is Amelia Earhart, they talk about her a lot on Find 815, Amelia Other isn't back just for a mobisode, i can see it!
Finally a worth mobisode! This one was awesome and DOES have something to do with LOST, i was tired of seeing Michael and Artz gibberishing. And OMG, Ben loves Juliet? I always thought they had something, their chemistry is awesome and they are King and Queen of mind games LOL! The perfect couple. I'm not saying this because i'm a jater, like i wanted Juliet out of the way, but this is so much better than Jacket. Go "Benliet"!
Best mobisode ever.
Oh, and i don't think it's Ben's x-ray's, it's something else!
Yes, it is a deleted scene. It doesn't follow the previous mobisodes as it wasn't newly filmed.
I think the point of this mobisode is to suggest more clearly that Ben has a thing for Juliet, whereas Juliet's feelings seem very mixed -- if you put yourself in her shoes, it is a very hard situation: she's stuck on an island, her only way off is through Ben... should she recipocrate feelings for him? Should she not get involved? What about Goodwin? And shit, he's dying now, what should she do - wait for him to die? I'm sure a lot of this stuff is going through her head (hence the crying).
Lost version of "42" - It's complicated :)
Nice to see EM but other than that not much interesting...
How can anyone be surprised that Ben has feelings for Juliet? You just have to watch the kitchen scene in OOU and you'll notice it right away. I think his feelings for her are also the reason why he won't let her leave the island and why he sent Goodwin to the tail section of the plane.
I am fascinated with Ben & Juliet's relationship but I hope that they will never get together. She already married a manipulative and lieing bastard (Edmund) once, there's no reason for her to make the same mistake twice.
I hope the next mobisode has Kate, Sayid, Sawyer and Locke, or at least it isn't a deleted scene. Do you think maybe the writer's strike caused them to not have enough of these done?
Yeah this appears to be the deleted scene that is mentioned in the commentary in a tale of two cities.
That's a good point Hipster about the strike. I don't think EL, NA, JH or TQ signed up for the Mobisodes.
I must say though that it surprises me EdR didn't sign up for the mobisodes either. She is totally underused on the show and I would have thought that she would have liked to get more work, even if it's only for this stuff.
Sad that some actors didn't sign up. That might have caused the Michael and Artz (awful) show.
@precious: i'm not surprised, actually. Remember The Glass Ballerina? When Colleen says "Am i interrupting something"? Yeah! I knew it :P.
Oh, i don't think Ben is a bastard, he is definetly a liar. As he said, i think everything he did, he did for the island. Somehow i think his feelings for her are genuine, even though i agree with you regarding Goodwin and Ben not leting her go.
Edmund was a total jerk and bastard. He was the one who definetly never loved Jules.
I don't think that Ben is a bastard. I love Ben. I only wanted to point out that she once married a manipulator and liar and that there's no reason for her to make the same mistake twice. As much as I love Ben, I must admit that it's hard to believe a word he says.
I get you ;). I wanted to point out that i don't think Ben would do the same Edmund did to her, you know? But yeah, Ben gives no reason to anyone believe him lol! I care about Juliet, just wanna see her reunion with Rachel and Juliet, that's gotta be a great LOST moment!
I meant Julian*, sorry.
it was dramatic..
but fine..
I mean I won't say it's dramatic if we find out the envelope holds something other than Ben's X-rays..
Now THAT'S a mobisode! Best one of the series!
This was a great mobi. Who cares if it was a deleted scene that they haven't shown up to this point? What other show is brilliant and subtle enough to include a character named Amelia and hint at her being Amelia Earhart? Whether is ties into Find815 or not is not the point, or is it the point? Classic Lost, taking a scene and adding more questions and layers to the story.
Thanks Dark and team Dark for bringing us these mobis faithfully every Monday. Making a long hiatus more tolerable.
wut about when amelia says that burning your hand doesn't make you cry? doesn't anyone think that's a bit odd?
i think it's an allusion to the weirdo training they put juliet through to induct her into the others. other evidence of training: juliet says she dislocated her shoulder 4 times, juliet's lightning-quick reflexes when kate tries to attack her. i think (and hope) this training will be shown in juliet's next ep.
this is exactly what mobisodes SHOULDNT be like. its not entertaining, ends with a cliffhanger.. seriously wtf? it wont be explaine din the next mobisode obviously, so, why the cliffhanger?
it doesnt tell a small story, doesnt even have anything remotely entertaining...
of course the cocky fans like it more because at least u can speculate on things that make no sense whatsoever.
"Teleplay by J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof"
Was this just a deleted scene from "A Tale of Two Cities"..? Because Abrams doesn't write for the show anymore to my knowledge?
You guys do know theres one Missing Piece left (i love saying that, it sounds so cryptic). I personally am not feeling the love towards this one. It's not very exciting, innovative, or revealing. So Juliet has an envelope. OH SNAP.
Oh, and did this video cut off for anyone else? because it stopped for me right when she started opening it (no doorbell).
Un, you are talking out your rear. We're 'cocky' because we speculate? I'm pretty sure those are Ben's x-rays, and that mobisode is addressing how profoundly Juliet feels about Ben.
i can't see this video, it cuts off for me also, i see only as far as when Juliet grabs her oven mitten, i've tried everything, but i can't see it :(
@David wut about when amelia says that burning your hand doesn't make you cry? doesn't anyone think that's a bit odd?
I think she's implying Juliet is tough, but I may be wrong.
That mobisode was awful and didn't supply us with anything we didn't already know. Missing pieces...more like extra pieces that just hurt the show...
and Juliet was crying because she just found out her sister's cancer had returned...
if it's the X-Rays... that would be retarded because they made it seem all secretive and stuff.. like, they way they just ended it before she showed Amelia makes me think it wasnt the X-Rays because everyone knows about those... but if it does turn out to be the X-Rays... that was one of the worst mobisodes ever... which would continue down the same road they've been going down for awhile now...
Right. It's the x-rays. I just watched that scene and 'They're in trouble' because Ben said no one on the Island ever had cancer.
Why are you scared, Ben? You said no one on this island ever had cancer! You told me that! You told me you could fix it! You said that! You said that you cured my sister! You lied to me!"
"No, I did not lie to you."
"If you can cure cancer, then why do you have it?"
"I don't know."
This is boring. Nothing special about Ben's X-rays and although I don't have my DVDs yet I figured it's a deleted scene because of Abrams' name in the credits... but ok...
A typical Xray measures 14 x 17", especially of the spine. The envelope looked too small
this isnt how the episode happened originally or i guess even how we saw it
if you remember Amelia answer the door and Juliet's hand was already wrapped ...
Unless (like jake chambers said) it was the way it was gonna happen
but didn't
I thought of something when I was watching this and it was confirmed that Ben had feelings for Juliet. Did Ben's feelings for Juliet lead him to send Ethan and Goodwin to the survivors? From what little we've seen, Ethan seemed to have a connection with Juliet and Goodwin was sleeping with her. Perhaps Ben knew that this would be a deadly mission and sent them for this reason.
Uhh...that was it? Very cryptic scene, I GUESS Ben likes Juliet but she doesn't feel the same way? And why are they "in trouble"? Ben has a tumor, I suppose, but didn't Juliet want a regime change anyway?
Unlike previous mobisodes, I don't think this one offered a new perspective or filled in the blank on anything. Rather, it raised questions.
Possibly the only good tie-in was that we know why Tom says to Jack, "They have a history."
As a side note, wasn't the reason Juliet was crying in the S3 opener because of the argument she had with Ben the day before, when she wanted to go home to see her sister, and he wouldn't let her? I thought "One of Us" cleared that up.
Very odd and confusing mobisode.
It appears that Juliet manifested Jack out of the Magic Box! Now that's hot!
Since it's called "LOST - Missing Pieces," I really don't care that it's a deleted scene. I *loved* it. Finally we got some sort of confirmation regarding the Ben/Juliet relationship (which I find far more interesting and fascinating than the Jack-Kate-Sawyer stuff). And maybe they didn't reveal what the envelope contains because it'll play a part in an upcoming ep. Mobisodes are supposed to be like teasers, right?
I think Ben sent Goodwin and Ethan away because he wanted them away, not dead. He sure seems possessive of Juliet, but in a quiet way. Well, it fits his character. ;)
wouldnt it be awesome if that is amila earhart! I'd love that.
I thought if whats in the envelope is bens x-rays, its a poor mobisode, but if whats in the envelope is something else, best mobisode yet.
Ksiberianhusky1, this is TV - not reality. did you ever see a plane split in half due to a magnet? or are you going to complain that Lost put x-ray's of a TUMOR (not specifically the entire SPINE) in a small envelope? maybe the x-rays were only isolated to that specific point, therefore being smaller.
some of you people over think this show so bad that it borders on obsessive.
qci5066028 summed this nerdisode up the best.
@lockedown I want one of those magic boxes! I want a Jack too!
I think it has something to do with the outside world searching for the island, but it could be Ben's x-rays. If everyone found out he had a tumor they would realize he isn't as "special" as they thought. I have a feeling we won't know what was in the envelope until season. If it isn't brought up again it is probably Ben's x-rays.
if this is a deleted scene from season 3's premier, than it would only make sense the envelope contains ben's x-ray. imagine how a scene like that would make us question what was in the envelope, to have that question finally answered by juliet's second flashback.
Those are Ben's x-rays, I'm about 100% sure of it. It must be pretty mind blowing if you think you are on an island where there has been no cancer. Then you find out your leader has devolved a malignant tumor that is rapidly growing. This may also make Juliet concerned for her sister. Someone she thinks Ben has saved.
But what is interesting is Juliette & Amelia talking about Ben. I hope we get to see some flash back to him telling her his "feelings". Wonder what he thought about Goodwin being with Juliet?
Herw are the Promotional photos for this deleted scene:

http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1164-70.html
I'm glad that they finaly released it :D
i guess it's a deleted scene dressed up as a mobisode after all... that kinda sucks
I liked this mobisode, but I agree it's the deleted scene EM talked about in ATOTC.
I think Juliet doesn't cry because her character has shut down her emotions in order to avoid being hurt again. And she was crying because Ben has cancer and that meant that he never cured her sister.
I HATE that Ben might have feelings for Juliet. Why would he try to kill her in this same episode?! It's very confusing...and now I want to know more about Beniet!
I love Juliet, Elizabeth Mitchell plays her so well and this mobisode is one of the best!
It is obvious Ben has these feelings for Juliet and I agree with people above who say she doesnt know what to do because he is her ticket off the island.
This upcoming season will be so interesting to see the relationships of the Losties and Juliet.
I really want to see a Sawyer and Juliet Mobbie i think it would be quite interesting.
Why do a lot of you think it's a deleted scene, the reason JJ is in the credits is that it takes from the original set up from 3.01, or at least that's how i see it.
As for a missing piece, it's one of the worst seen.
i can't believe i had to wait to see that :D
Another tip off that this is a deleted scene is the fact that it is shot on film, and not digital video (like the other mobisodes).
It did have a great eerie 'Lost' feel, but it's too bad the reveal isn't something we don't already know. The only elements this mobisode could be foreshadowing are the fact that people "don't cry" i.e. the healing powers of the island, which we all know already.
The amelia earheart connection might be the only thing hinting at the more recent FIND815.com info...perhaps that is why they decided to add it as such a late mobisode....any thoughts?

Good Lord.
@debs
We KNOW it's a deleted scene because of the DVD comments, plus I already posted the Promotional pics from Lost-media.com that are from that scene, but was never used back then:
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1164-69.html
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1164-70.html
See? :)
I LOVE that Ben has feelings for J. :) Emerson says he thinks Ben's character will be (in a way) recontextualized in the upcoming episodes, and showing that he has feelings for Juliet is one way - a good way - to do that IMHO. He’s only human, after all, and it's not a bad thing to emphasize that from time to time. Of course, since he's Ben, his is def. not a flower-and-chocolate kinda love, and probably never will be.
But when did he try to kill her? If memory serves, he never made her do anything that would undoubtedly result in her death (unlike Juliet when she asked Jack to off him). Getting Jack "invested in her" was a crucial (and, for him, probably painful) move to ensure her safety (at the trial + later among the Losties), and looking back at it, the whole thing was brilliantly orchestrated.
Also, I hesitate to say J. was completely indifferent to him. That amount of hatred she seems to feel now doesn't come from nothing (at least in my experience).
re: Amelia
I'd love to see her in more eps, but the actress playing her said she didn't film any new scenes for s4. Hopefully she will.
Thanks Darkufo's video/transcript team!
It was OK.
I agree with un, that is disappointing that a mobisode ends with a cliffhanger (even if we think it's a deleted scene, it doesn't tell a small story like the previous ones).
Dark, now we need those mobispoilers :P
lol @ 3D!
A Ben/Juliet thingy would be so creepy simply because Ben is creepy. Anywho...I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Amelia (love that name) is part of the group of people who wanted change and had no problem what so ever letting Jack kill him during surgery; that Juliet meant "we're in trouble" is an acknowledgement that Ben is a liar because he has a tumor and most of all, she's just as disgusted as I am about Ben crushin' on her....ewww..
I'm wondering who else is on the "we want change" list besides sexy Richard...goodness, hope he's coming back.
Come on People!!! Usually your very smart about things regarding LOST re-watching Episode 16 from Season 3 (Juliet centric) you will see after she was in bed with Goodwin she get the Envelope delivered to her and it's Ben X-Rays. She takes them to Ben who has just finished Carrie and assume's he is coming to the Book club. Simple and sweet nothing more or nothing less. Great deleted scene IMO.
Love my fellow LOST Fans.
I do have something else to say about this whole thing.....
Fred
Ok LOST Fans here me out on this.
Juliet gets the news that Ben has a Tumor and it's cancer. Ben is her only way off this craphole Island and she needs him. We all know that Desmond caused the plane to crash by not pushing the button but...
after her talk with Ben where he tells her she can not go home and during the book club she is very upset. IMO this could very well lead us to something that is inspired by CARRIE (Juliet). What if Juliet had something to do with the cause and effect of Desmond and button and Plane to crash. ala Carrie. Maybe Juliet has some abilities that we do not know about and maybe she really doesn't even know about them herself?
Desmond could still have caused the Plane to crash but maybe it was orchestrated by Juliet?
Juliet needed that plane to crash because it had a spinal surgeon on it. And if she has powers somehow knew it had a spinal surgeon on it.
I know this sounds a bit outrageous but in LOST world nothing is ever that crazy.

Best mobisode ever.
Oh, and i don't think it's Ben's x-ray's, it's something else!" ,
Benliet? Haha. lol I find the two actors together exhilerating to watch but really, theres no romance in it at all! I.E, Juliet into the recorded in D.O.C, "I hate you Ben" and her betraying him. Also, for anyone who has seen the commentary on EM says "I remember doing a scene with (person who plays Amelia) and at one point she mentions a relationship between Ben and Juliet and I actually growl at her" She doesn't growl in the mobisode though, but you can tell by her facial expression that she has no romantic intrest in Ben. And I think the only reason she says "It's complicated" is becuause she knows that maybe Ben really didnt cure her sisters cancer, and maybe her sister is dead. I think in the file is the x-rays. And thats bad becuase that means Ben is a liar. ANd if Ben is a liar, then theres no Jacob and there at the island for no reason. Thats just my opinion.
and btw EM's acting is WONDERFUL in there. Great to see more of her. She looks very pretty too :) I just love EM.
And we know it's a deleted scene from ATOTC because of JJ - he wouldn't come in just to write something small and insignificant as this - we didn't get anything new in the mobisode. And besides, if JJ was signed up for the mobisodes, we would've known already... you know how everything gets blown to heaven when he's working on it... "OMG, JJ is working on that!!!"... and stuff.. :D
Did it seem like Amelia was almost pushing Ben's feelings for Juliet to anyone else? Juliet obviously knew they existed but Amelia seemed happier about them. That could explain Juliet's ambiguous response and makes me wonder again if anyone knew about Juliet/Goodwin besides Ben (I doubt Ben misses much with all his security and cameras).
I don't think Amelia was involved in a plot I think she was simplifying things like grandmothers sometimes do- he has feelings, you should date! Oh no, there's trouble? But nothing is ever that simple with Juliet- if she's involved it's horrendously complicated. I agree that this does reinforce the theory that Ben sent Goodwin because of he and Juliet's relationship. He was way too smug for it not to have been personal.
I agree with you Frediemac1.
What if Juliet also provoked the accident when Edmund was run over by a bus, just because she wanted it to happen?....So, what if Juliet also wanted the plane to crash on the island?
LOL maybe the new love triangle is Ben-Juliet-Goodwin's ghost, or even Sawyer, judging by the full of angst promo pics :P!
@3d: what's your problem with my comment, may i ask?
...
@crzy_lostfan: Love and hate are so close, i am not surprised and i always knew he had feelings for her. I don't know if she does have feelings for him, that's what it looks like. They wouldn't bring this up again for no reason. I don't know why you laugh, just watch and see ;)! They might never be a couple or have a romantic relationship. but they DO have something.
I.E, Juliet into the recorded in D.O.C, "I hate you Ben" and her betraying him.
Well, she didn't record the "I hate you" part. I wonder why. :) Maybe she's still conflicted? Who knows. Still, the fact that she hates him now doesn't mean she didn't, at least, like him before.
And she betrayed him, yes. So did Alex, but as we can see in the promo she ends up begging Locke not to kill him. Sometimes people do and say things in the heat of the moment - things that later they might regret. Emphasis is on "might". But she doesn't betray Ben because he lied about Jacob/the Island/her sister. He showed her that Rachel and Julien were healthy & fine, proving he told her the truth.
She doesn't growl in the mobisode though, but you can tell by her facial expression that she has no romantic intrest in Ben.
All I can tell from her facial expression is that she really doesn't wanna talk about the "Ben-issue" at the moment, and she's pissed because Amelia brought it up.
jupiter63, I agree with everything you said. Amelia doesn't seem like somebody who's busy plotting against Ben. Not to me. But maybe I'm just naive. :)
maybe the new love triangle is Ben-Juliet-Goodwin's ghost
Goodwin will be in (at least) one S4 episode, so it's possible :D Be careful what you wish for. ;)
I'm rather sure that if Juliet had some kind of special powers that make anything she wishes for come true, she wouldn't be on the island anymore but rather back at home in Miami.
Im sure thats Bens Xray!!! They are ib big truble because their leader is dying!!! She was crying because she thinks her sister is probably dead!!!
It is a good movisode because it is with EM!!! She rules!!! Also I think this is a delated scene because EM looks a little bit more chuby than what she looks now!!!
Great post, mintchocolatechip! I don't know why ppl are laughing at that possibility.
Goodwin will be in (at least) one S4 episode, so it's possible :D Be careful what you wish for. ;)
LOL! That's what i thought ;)!
They were Ben's X-rays, however, I don't think that they would be in trouble because their leader is dying. Moreso because the only one who can/does talk to Jacob would be dying. Without Ben, the island could get angry at them and create havoc among them.
If not that, Ben may be the only one who knows exactly how to get back to mainland in the submarine. He was the one that gave Michael the coordinates for his boat, after all.
I think that maybe the contents of the envelope have to deal with the freighter. Maybe Juliet knows more about what is coming than she is putting on. Just a wild assumption I suppose
Ben tried to kill Juliet when he promised to let her go home if she let him live and helped Kate and Sawyer escape. In the process, she killed Danny. Ben was going to let her be executed for that. He only commuted her sentence when Jack traded same for his promise to care for Ben.
This is good (but unnecessary) as a deleted scene (which I agree it appears to be). I don't think this is on my DVD. Maybe it's on the Wal-Mart one that has the bonus disc. In any case, I found it disappointing as a mobisode. It really didn't fill in any mising pieces for me. Still I'll take what I can get. Something is still better than nothing.
Juliet's preggers!
w00t!
Goodwin or Ben or...?

It is a deleted scene. It doesn't matter that it wasn't on the DVD because they don't put all deleted scenes on it anyway.
Further, not only am I 100% certain Juliet is about to show the sonogram images to Amelia, I think she is on the cusp of revealing not only who the father is, but that she plans to have an abortion -- performed, of course, by Ethan.
And we know how that plan went.
The father ain't Ben or Goodwin, likely. It's someone else who was close to Juliet. I'll let you fill in the blanks I'm leaving open.
First off, it's been said by Carlton/Damon that the mobisodes are not deleted scenes, but indeed new material filmed after the creation of season 3. This mobisode just happened to occur after an actual scene in the first episode of season 3. The writers are making you think that it's Ben's x-ray in the envelope, but most likely it's something else entirely. My guess is it's one of three things, either a sonogram showing that the old lady is pregnant, or maybe Juliet is pregnant ... or ... proof that Ben knew that Flight 815 was going to crash before it actually did (moments after this scene takes place). We'll find out what was in that envelope in the last mobisode, but not through Juliet's point of view. My one complaint is why did they have to use music that sounded so much like "Jaws?"

Was he? (gee, I already sound like Ben - it's scary)
I mean I never really bought that Ben wanted her to die. To me it seemed more like a show he put on for her as a payback because she tried to kill him. Maybe he just wanted her to feel what it was like to be sentenced to death while he expected Jack to interfere in any moment. Remember when Jack entered the OR, Ben said, "The cavalry has arrived at last." He knew Jack liked her so they basically arranged the whole trial in front of him, showing him just enough to make him piece the story together and react in time. Tom hinting at what Juliet did, the Sheriff interrogating him and Juliet together, the guards leading Juliet into her "cell" exactly when Jack was being led out, Cindy and the others coming to watch which made Jack not only angry but even more curious, Alex wandering around Jack's cage feeding him info about Juliet. How very convenient, right? :)
I'm not saying that this is exactly what happened, but it's also a possible reading of the events.
I don't know why ppl are laughing at that possibility.
That makes two of us, breakaleg. To me it almost feels natural and obvious (given their scenes and hints by other Others in several eps), but everybody's entitled to their opinion :) And now I can't wait for the Juliet centric ep. Hopefully it clears some things up ... and raises a zillion other questions, but that's expected :)
It's just a bit weird that Juliet didn't even try to hide the X-rays from Goodwin, but made such a fuss about showing them (if the envelope contained Ben's X-rays) to Amelia. Plus Ben didn't even try to ask her to keep his condition a secret, so ... so the more I think about it, the more confused I get, so I'll stop here :)
You can easily tell this is a deleted scene from the show, just by the video and sound quality compared to other mobisodes.
As stated by the astute fans, the envelope contains Ben's x-rays.

The scene was probably originally filmed for use as a Ben has cancer reveal. But I think the reason this deleted scene is being resurrected is that it has been re-purposed, or re-imagined, to mean something else. So while the intent may have been when filmed to reveal that Ben has a tumor on his spinal cord, it is presented here in new, different light: that Juliet has herself become pregnant.
I think the writers made this choice after developing Juliet. The scene with Juliet and Goodwin in bed was no fluff. This is another piece in her puzzle. So we know Ben was/is in love with her and she may or may not have reciprocated in her past.
This complicates the plot in a very new way, since we can assume Ben doesn't know of her condition. Perhaps the affair with either Ben or Goodwin was kept secret from the other Other.
All signs of the exchange between the women is recontextualized to indicate Juliet has conceived. I am totally convinced of this.
Okay, but if J. is pregnant (equals death on the Island) + she suspects/knows Ben has feelings for her (so he probably wouldn't let her die), then why didn't she just use the pregnancy card to convince Ben to let her go home? It might have been more effective than her "I wanna go home. No?! Well, if you don't let me go home, I'll kill ya!!!" approach.
As I explained above, Juliet planned to get an abortion. After Ethan, the other doctor on the island, died, she had renewed interest in the newly arrived pregnant girl and also the miracle worker doctor who landed on their beach.
@mintchocolatechip: ITA with you! I've just watched Left Behind, Juliet says: "Ben has a thing for mind games."
That sounded SO wrong for someone who has no feelings for Ben lol. Let's just wait for her episode, they migh address those feelings ;)
Now, Juliet pregnant? How did you guys come up with this? And if the supposed father is not Ben or Goodwin, who could be?!
If Juliet is pregnant, she would already be in her second trimester. (The plane crashed 3 months ago and if she knew she was pregnant and had sonograms to show at the time of the crash, you could easily add 4-6 weeks to that.) Of course, a lot of women don't show much until their 5th month, but she does seem to be pretty slim for a woman that far along. If she is pregnant, she doesn’t have much time, since no one survives the second trimester; and though she does seem desperate to get off the island, I just don’t get the impression it is because of her personal health. Interesting thought though, and the writers could have decided on a new twist since season 3, but I would be really surprised if they threw this in the mix.
