The Sawyer/Kate pics are cute actually, and coming from someone like me who hates or is just tired of shipper stuff that's something.....but Locke looks like a king settling on his throne while his head swells. ;)

It's kinda weird seeing the Losties living in the Others' houses, all domesticated. It's like they have taken their place and the "originals" on the island facing the newcomers (freighties). And didn't Locke tell Ben a couple of weeks ago that he is a hypocrite or something like that for living in a house and eating chicken...

Amazing pictures!! How can Evi and Josh as Kate and Sawyer pull off absolutely everything: friendship, angst, heat, humor, flirty cuteness, sexual tension, white hot passion, lust, love, romance, miscommunication, silliness, understanding, and fun? These two light up any space they occupy and each other. How can you not love them both? They are unique and a breath of fresh air after years of the same tired formula fairytale. Their scenes are always effortless and believable. Just looking at them leaves you breathless.

If she wants to be with Sawyer she have no reason not to just because Jack choose to say those words to her. Which she did not respond to, by the way.
It is so weird to see them in this environment. Kind of funny. I think Kate likes Sawyer a lot but she also probably has her agenda. Like she does with Jack.

Kate is just getting Sawyer buttered up so she can have him on her side when she wants to get Ben back to Jacks camp. I feel bad for Sawyer, he is always wanting Kate to care for him, but she only uses him when it helps her get what she wants :/

At this point there could be a million reasons for that. Best to wait and see before jumping to conclusions, methinks.

@ Veronique, as far as I'm aware of, I know as much as the other readers here. It's good that you have the passion you do about Skate, but honestly, while they are hot in the sack they, imho, don't have the type of relationship it takes to last in the outside world, off the island. Jack and Kate could, I see their chemistry and potential as being pure and real; not as animalistic as Skate (although raw animalistic sex is freaking hot, it's that there's no way anyone could keep that up). Sawyer could settle down with someone and Kate started that for him but I don't think she'll be that for him forever. As for Jate, while that has more lasting potential, I don't see it lasting either. Kate has a LOT of things to work on in herself before she could be good for anyone. As does Sawyer and Jack.
That being said Veronique, if you posess some insider knowledge above and beyond what's posted here then it'd be better to provide evidence of it rather than alluding to some, what looks like wishful thinking.
Taking a look at some older promo pictures, it looks like this is Juliet's kitchen/house. It's quite ironic that they are probably going to get it on in her bed.

I don't like Kate (or at least not what TPTB have done to her character in the last 2 years) but why is she a terrible person for spending some time with the man she's actually in love with? Jack had many opportunities with Kate and he blew them all. WTH, he even has another chance in the FF and he blows it again. Sorry, but I can't feel sorry for him. It's his own damn fault.

That being said, have you ever heard of a kick ass concept called right to an opinion? It's where you concede to a person's point while maintaining your own opinion. I'm not sure you have and to be honest, I'm inclined to root for "Jate", just to see how far off the deep end you'd go. No offense to other Skaters or shippers but I've never seen a discussion become as juvenile as quickly as this one has.

I am a Skater and I do not belive it will be Jate in the end...I hope it will be Skate but it could JUST as well be neither. Maybe Kate's getting a life on her own, with ANOTHER guy or on her own. That could also happen and I wouldn't mind having Kate developing her OWN STORY outside of either Jack or Sawyer. Her character deserves to be developed on her own behalf, not as a part of a triangle.
That said I don't think Kate feels for Jack the same way she feels for Sawyer, it sure doesn't show on my screen. I belive what I see on my screen and untill I am proven wrong on my screen then I will still root for Skate. That's how I see it :).
Check it out. In the picture with Locke, Kate, and Sawyer...there are pictures on the wall in the background of SAILBOATS. Is this in the Others barricks, actually the Dharma barricks? Is this a Dharma and Widmore connection? It kinda looks like more than one sailboat in the picture on the left. A race? Wasn't Desmond in a sailboat race? Lost is absolutely awesome!! A mysterious story that just keeps getting better. Luv it!

@Veronique, glad to see you acknowledged that you don't know something, what happens with Kate and Sawyer in the future.....and to set the record straight, I'm not a shipper, unless you'd count Charlie and Claire which would be difficult considering TPTB are dickheads that killed Charlie off.
That being said V, you're basing what you know about four episodes as fact and that's not right. You CANNOT factually say ANYTHING until the final episode. And you have attacked me as you've attacked others, you do so anytime someone disagrees with you, or pretty much.
You say my comments are smug but I can acknowledge that I don't know squat about what the final outcome of anything will be until the series is over. You don't seem to be able to be. You're taking what you know of about 8.33333333% of the rest of the series and implying it as fact which is understandable b/c one can only do that with what you know BUT you're refusing to see that you may not be right. And you're basing your facts, at least I think so, on what you want to happen. If that's the basis of fact then I know that Charlie's going to come back from the dead and he and Claire are going to live happily ever after. If that's the basis of fact then I know Sayid will find Nadia in Los Angeles and do the same. If that's the basis of fact then I also know that Kate, Sawyer and Jack are going to end up in some pretty damn intense therapy to figure out why they're so messed up. Hurley's going to get his money back and fund Charlie's comeback tour.
You, again, haven't given me proof, you've given me your conjecture of four episodes. That's not proof V, can't be proof until it's all over. I see where you're going though, with what we know about this episode, but this is, again, one episode.
I respect your opinion, but I can't and won't acknowledge it as fact. What I was meaning was beyond what we know already and I think I said that before. You don't know how this will end up. When it comes to Jate and Skate, I don't care. Personally I think they'd all be better off without each other. I do think, from an objective standpoint, that Skate has a lot more heat sexually (of course TPTB haven't given us any Jex yet so we don't know on that). But I also think emotionally Jate has the upper hand. I think Jate wants to happen really bad even with what we know in this episode. I think if Skate could mature beyond the level of bed hopping on Kate's part and the emotional maturity of a roach on Sawyers part (although he has potential, he's shown that when he told Jack about his father, when he killed Tom, when he told Kate to look away when he thought he was going to be shot), anyways, I think if they could move beyond all that they might be able to work. But I don't think that they're going to in the outside world. I don't think jate will either. The ONLY reason I even got into this twisted discussion was because you're so firm in what you say and that's good sister, hold onto your belief and don't let anyone change it. I like that you're strong in what you feel. But I don't like that you don't seem to allow anyone else their right to think differently and you base it on what you think of as fact when it really isn't yet.
To end this, out of respect for Dark and the other readers here, in the future you might want to learn a bit about debate. It's where you acknowledge the other persons' point, as I have, and then state your own. I, respectfully mind you, don't think you've shown that here. And it's going to be very hard to carry on anything resembling a normal conversation with someone when they can't respect and acknowledge another persons point. Great pics! Flirty Skate is always fun and it's nice just to see Sawyer smiling again. The guy's been so down and serious for the last while now. I'll bet they're all smiles because they missed each other and are just glad to have some time together again. :)

I'm sorry if it's come across like I can't accept others opinions methos, that's so not what I intended. I get V's opinion, I actually somewhat agree with it too believe it or not, but I don't agree with the fact that I haven't yet seen any indication from her that not everyone is going to agree with her and that this is okay. Even with what has been shown to us already, that's going to be interpreted in many different ways. I guess that's too much to ask, I was just hoping so this would end and this could stop so everyone could enjoy the thread again.
I have a minor complaint though. Where are Sun & Jin? Judging from the promo pictures for the first 4 episodes, it looks like they are badly, badly underused this year. I guess we won't see them again before episode 6 (and even that's rather unlikely judging from Kristin Veitch's comment on that one) or 7.
As an observer who doesn't give a rat's ass WHO Kate ends up with -- or whether she ends up on her own -- I have to side with Ahrean on this. V's posts come across as though they were written by someone whose knowledge of male/female relationships and sexuality comes more from reading romance novels than from actually experiencing the complicated, diverse, and multi-faceted thing that is human sexuality. V, there is no such thing as "normal sexual chemistry between a normal man and woman," because there is no such thing as "normal." Normal for me is not normal for you, and vice versa. Sex and relationships are complicated and varied. And most of all, they are not black & white. They are full of grey areas. Just like life.
I am not a "shipper" by any means, they actually annoy me, and I actually have no idea why I've even been reading these "shipper- war" comments. But the argument about knowing that Jack and Kate don't end up together because they aren't together in the flash forward has no logic behind it. That is not the final scene in the show, so they could be together in a later flash forward. Or the show could take a huge twist and Kate could end up with Jacob. Who cares, just enjoy the ride for pete's sake.
It just annoys me when people who are not on the writing staff of the show know what's going to happen. You can make guesses and have fun with it, but you can never, ever assume with LOST. You will always be wrong. That's why the writers are brilliant. : ) And that's why I watch the show.

And Jack and Kate are sexless, in the present and in the future. That's the point. So many shipping Lost fans seem to think that there's more emotion between Jack and Kate because they are asexual. That's the abnormal mindset I refer to.
And however you think my posts come across, as far as experiencing human sexuality, there's nothing I can do except state very definitely you are wrong. It seems to me that most Jaters idea of human sexuality comes from Sunday school handbooks or Abstinence Only teachers. But that goes to show how you can't know ppl only by what they write on the internet.

Absolutely agree V that you can never say never.....about that sex thing though, it depends on the circumstances of the situation for said couple. They could go years without anything happening and then all of a sudden it occurs. It depends on the couple, it depends on the circumstances, it depends on a lot of different things and it could go any given way. Never say never, right? btw, the Skate sex was hot, gotta give you that. I can only imagine what Jate sex would be like though, if it ever occurred......it'll be interesting to see how it works out.

The part of this debate that makes it sad to me is that fact that people are saying that lost is totally predictable. It isn't. You and other may know the spoilers (which I don't - thanks for monitoring, Dark) for episodes 2,3, and 4. But you don't know how the show will play. You may know the future but how much of the future do you really know? Can you know it all?
Please acknowledge that you are not the writer of the show so you don't know anything for sure. Things can change as they always do on LOST. That's why I LOVE this show. When you think you know something... you just discovered that you are completely wrong.
I really hope that they have a good story to tell and that I will enjoy and be surprised.

Well, I must have made quite a big impression on them. ;) I am in good company so maybe I shouldn't take it too seriously.
Maybe I'm gonna post my thoughts after the airing of Eggtown. It's much easier to talk about that story line after the episode has aired and the bashing might be over and done with by then. :)
I really don't want to get drawn into this shipper debate, but I just wanted to remind Veronique that the writers have not avoided physical contact between Jack and Kate like the plague, and that when Kate nicked the phone off Jack it wasn't the first time she'd touched him. Did you forget she kissed him, I think in season 2? To me that kiss looked pretty emotional... Don't want the facts to get lost in amongst all the passionate debate!
Seriously though, this is the first time I've posted on this site even though I read it (and most of the comments) all the time and it's funny that this shipper debate is my main motivation... It's getting really predictable that these comment boards very quickly fill up with back-and-forth sniping about who Kate should be with, and I bet it's putting a lot of people off reading and writing comments. Why can't we all just get along? ;P

Good post Rachel...I agree with the fighting putting off people and scaring them away from posting. That happened to me at first. I happen to like Jack, and Sawyer, and well, pretty much everyone. So I wrote a comment once that was attacked because somone thought I was a jater. I didn't comment again for a long time. It was too bad that you guys missed my snarky comments for such a long time. : P
Anyway....I love lost for the mysteries mostly, not the soap opera. I would have to say though, currently I love the dialogue and chemistry between Ben and Locke. I can't wait to see what happens in this episode!
Oh...and I wonder if the eggs Ben is eating has anything to do with the title being Eggtown. Sounds like a nickname Sawyer would say! : )
I like the fact that Ben doesn't look displeased. He has that look back to him, as if he knows a load more than anyone else. Those scenes with him and Locke debating from S3 seem to continue. I bet what they discuss is very interesting and important, especially if they visit Jacob's cabin prior to Eggtown.

I love the flirty Sawyer/Kate pictures. It is strange to see them in a clean house, in a kitchen with glasses of wine on the counter but it's also a bit of a dream come true. The way they look at each other just makes me smile. They truly do have the sexy hot fun chemistry and a passion and emotional connection that comes through clearly on the screen. J/K pales by comparison and I agree with V above that for the most part J/K feels very asexual, passionless and seems to consist of awkward non-physicality for the most part.
Jaters often go on about how they are always interrupted from kissing or sexing each other up. Why? Because clearly the writers don't want to take them to that level of intimacy. IMO J/K are portrayed more as a Luke/Leia sort of couple, bonded as comrades, fighting like big brother/little sister at times, sharing an emotional connection due to their experiences on the island but not in a romantic way. Their abortive kiss in season 2 even reminds me of when Leia kissed Luke (because of Han) and there were no sparks.
In some ways I agree with Ahrean about S/K having problems working out back in the real world. That's mostly because of their circumstances, both being criminals and Kate in particular has a huge lists of crimes hanging over her head.
On paper, having a doctor as a partner would possibly lend more security to Kate. But she's proven to feel stifled by a 'respectable' life and doesn't do Taco nights. I do think shacking up with the doctor would force her to remain a Monica-like shell of her former self. At least with Sawyer she can remain a free-spirit and her feisty flawed self.
I personally believe they will all end up back on the island and will not be able to live off of the island happily at all. So the argument that Sawyer can't offer Kate a conformist white picket fence existence on the mainland may prove to be rather moot by the end of the show.
For the record Kate, Sawyer and Jack are all pretty much cold blooded murderers now.

I am a skater, but even I can admit Jack and Kate have chemistry. Can you seriously not accept anyone elses opinion but that of your own? This narrow mindedness of yours is pathetic. Please get a grip, for everyones sake.

@ Veronique - you haven't answered me. Why can't you allow someone to post their opinion too? Why does it seem like if someone disagrees with you then you freak out? Why can't they disagree with you? You know that your opinion isn't factual right? You know it's only your interpretation of what you saw and it is okay if someone doesn't agree,right?
Why do you have to resort to insults and make a shipper not on your ship seem like a bad thing? It seems so unnecessary.
So basically you can't admit that what you see as fact is not fact but your interpretation of it. That's sad. I feel bad for you. Wtf are you going to do if it doesn't turn out the way you hope? Because, no matter how much you want eggtown to be how it is in the end but it may not be. And man, I'd hate to be anywhere near you should that happen.

Veronique you have done a great job filling up this thread. seems like alot of spewing going on over...facts. ahrean2007 is right, it's not over yet. We've got a ways to go, and that veronique IS a FACT. Lost is so unpredictable. imho, I think that we will hear of more and more 'leaks' and spoilers that just aren't true, or quite as they appear. All in an effort to throw us off. Time will tell, let's just wait and see what happens. In the mean time, why don't you put your crystal ball to bed and quit with the essays. Most of us come here to read about the show...NOT your rants. It's a shame that you apparently have nothing better to do than to fill up so much of this thread with this stuff that you call defending yourself veronique. Imho you really shouldn't be shoving your FACTS onto people, inside info or not. Enough is enough. Can we just get along and remember why we are here? Lost rocks!!
