The Tempest: The electrical station that powers the island.
It means violent storm.
It was the name of a play by Shakespeare about a group of people who crash on an island and meet its strange inhabitants. Has the quote, "Oh brave new world, with such people in't," the inspiration for Huxley's "Brave New World" which was about a future dystopia brought about by scientific advancement... sort of like bringing power to an island with mysterious properties? My guess is that this was the first station.
I wonder if we'll see hamsters there :)

in the second video we meet "the other woman" one would assume. She tells Juliet where they (Faraday and Charlotte, i believe) are going. Jack asks Juliet if theres anything he should know. Juliet responds with, "I just need your help. Will you help me?"

Guys this is the Other Woman of the title. She is after all an Other. But is she a ghost? How did she manage to disappear like that?
Also what did Jack say after the Other Woman left? It sounded like Detectives or something...

#1 I much prefer Daniel to Charlotte. I think Kate shud kick Charlotte's ass. If not, Juliet shud do it cos she does look rather peed off/upset at times.

Juliet is going to shoot Charlotte because she is told to stop her at any means necessary and she says the only way to stop me is to shoot us both. Daniel will live though because he isn't entirely a bad person.

If you cast your mind back to filming last year, there were set photos taken of a new Dharma station that everyone claimed was The Orchid. I think that that set was actually for The Tempest. The logo for the station looked like a wave as well.

Charlotte I think is just protecting herself. She seems alot less altruistic than Faraday is.
Cool. The Other Woman did the same abrupt appearence/disappearence that we see Ben do in "One of Us" and Richard do in "The Man Behind the Curtain". Reminds me of what Darlton said about the polar bear Charlotte finds in the desert, that either it hitchhiked there or was teleported there. I think Ben, Richard, and the Other Woman are harnassing the teleportation powers.
Hmm... Wonder if Sawyers "I just saw a ghost"-look and Jacks hike through the jungle in the middle of the night is the result of them finding out about Kate missing...

The actress who plays Charlotte is horrible. Her acting on the show is just awkward. However, I LOVE the character of Daniel. He is now one of my favorite characters. I just think that Lost missed the boat when they casted the role of Charlotte. I hope they write her off the show soon.

And all this time I thought the island was powered by two giant hamsters on wheels they kept in their secret underground lair.
I find that most of these sneak peeks lack sound editing, or lack sound that will be added later. It seems maybe when Jack and Juliet are looking around, scared, that maybe we may hear the Whispers and boom, the woman is gone.

If you freezeframe the at 18 secs so the computer screen is visible it looks as though they are opening a valve to let "vapor" out.

Dan and charlotte have gas masks and so did the others after the purge.
Some pretty good stuff there. Not too sure what to think of any of it, but the thought of a different DHARMA station (or is it DHARMA?) than originally anticipated adds to the excitement. Can't wait to see this episode!
And just to remove myself from the arguments, I'm not going to give my opinions of any characters.
Just because someone is a lead on the show doesn't make them a great character. In fact, I would say that members of the "B" team (Desmond and Ben in particular) are the best characters on the show.
What looks awesome. Charlotte is quite an arrogant character, but she's pretty good looking and I love her voice.
I also can't stand Kate, so hooray!

So it wasn't the temple that Richard was bringing the others to it was the tempist.
Here're some things worth thinking about which should give some clues about the next episodes:-
1) the next episode (6, Juliet-centric) has Charles Widmore in it...? (see the Episodes page)
2) even more interesting... episode 7 features Frank Lapidus, "doctor", Keamy etc... so it has the freighter crew. Yet... it's a Sun/Jin-centric episode... so... what's that all about? Does that mean that Jin and Sun make it to the freighter too...?
I think the woman that Juliet is speaking to in the rain was the wife of the professor Juliet was once married to. I think Juliet was the one that destroyed ghost lady's marriage to that possessive jerk Juliet was attached to off island. We see that later that man moves on to another co-ed, so it seems like a cycle. But I think this woman was his wife previous to Juliet. Juliet was "the other woman" at one time, that's my guess.
Charlotte is smoking hot and she hit Kate, so I like her. If her and Daniel are planning to release a gas and kill everyone on the island, why would she just knock Kate out rather than kill her? And I can't see Daniel (from what we know about him so far) going along with a plan to commit genocide. It could be that they're actually trying to STOP the gas from being released...
Yeah, the gas masks look ominous because of what we know about Ben and how he killed Dharma. But it's just as likely that they (Dan and Charlotte) are there to turn off some mechanism that could destroy the world or the island. Of course, it could be the other way as well. That's the definition of ambiguity.
Also, as someone mentioned earlier, that the characters are being written in a way so as to evoke certain feelings in the viewers; feelings like the ones we're expressing about Kate being annoying, and Charlotte being somewhat unlikable. They are showing kind sides of Charlotte, as in her interaction with Dan, and snarky sides of her, as in her interactions with Juliet and Kate. No one is wrong in expressing how the actions of these characters make them feel, but we should remember that they are characters, not reflections on the actual actresses.

I loved the Constant because there was the only true love story of LOST, Desmond and Penny. The triangle, quadrangle crap is boring compared to it!!

I love how back when we thought the new Dharma logo was for the Orchid station, people were comparing it to a picture of an orchid and insisiting it's a match.
It's a gust a wind for the Tempest. We can rest easy now.
i loveeee how juliet kind of goes to rest her head on jack's shoulder right before she leaves. it would really be a bad circumstance to actually touch his shoulder, but i love that she makes that gesture... god, even when they're screaming at each other, jacket is ADORABLE! i seriously don't care who kate ends up with... as long as juliet and jack stay having their cute scenes!

There are 4 people who i wouldn't mind dying: charlotte, miles, kate and sun. i do agree that kate is a moron for turning her back to them w/out at least making them believe shes not alone. but has kate ever, ever, really done the smart thing off-island or on? i do like dan, and did see him kind of comfort kates head but he didn't seem surprised or really upset by what charlotte did or else he would have at least exclaimed something. i think he knew what charlotte was going to do the moment she said to open the pack.
i'm not sure who that woman is with juliet. someone says its her psychiatrist? the theory that its goodwins first lover is more plausible than that, but even that is highly doubtful. it may be the first pregnant woman juliet worked with on-island, leading up to sun/jins ep the following week, or maybe the woman who helped socialize and train juliet on island. i've tried my hardest to make me see jack agreeing to go with her or juliet mouthing thank you, have watched the clips several times both here, on youtube and abc and....its not there. jacks not going to help her. after everything thats happened with the freighters, jack is still in loose cannon, angry mode, only wanting to do the opposite of what ben wants and trying to force everything. everytime he's acted out of anger and in haste its led to bad things happen. this time, its gonna be a big mess.
i hope juliet pops charlotte in the head, she has been BEGGING for it since she parachuted on. & if jack doesn't want to help juliet, heres hoping that scene precedes jack finding kate unconscious, cause if its after he already knows that...
I don't think Charlotte and Dan would kill everyone just like that. Not everyone can be a murderer. No. Someone come up with a better theory! ;)

Also, it seems like a pretty heavy contingent of Lost fans hate Charlotte. Why? Because she gave sass to Juliet? She's a firecracker! It's interesting because she's my second favorite new character behind Miles, so maybe I just like the angry ones.
If you watch closely in the first snaek peak you can see that Juliet doesn't acutally see/hear anything.. she's trying to make Jack turn around so that her friend can disappear without Jack seeing. Because she looks over her shoulder to make sure the lady is gone before completely turning around. So whatever the Others can do teleport/vansish or whatever i'm betting Juliet knows about it.
Also i defiantely saw the nod Jack gave Juliet it was very sublte when he turns his head and then she says thanks or thank you under her breath and Jack goes to follow behind her. But my guess is somehow he doesn't end up making it too the Tempest with her because in the preview it looks as if she's alone when Charlotte and Dan are in the station. I also think they were trying to posion everyone that way they can do their experiments/take over the island without any interference. Obviously the Others don't want that too happen so maybe that's why they send that lady to talk to Juliet, if the lady is an Other.. i'm assuming she is because of the title of the eppie.

Perhaps Daniel and Charlotte are there to disable the power station. That would make it a lot easier to take control of the island. The sonic fence would be out of commission--and perhaps Smokey as well.

I have a wild thought... It's way out there. What if Daniel and Charlotte are expecting a time when the "times" merge for a moment? What if all the survivors didn't survive but are all dead on that plane in the ocean? What if, when the moment comes when the 2 "realities" merge, Daniel and Charlotte feel they must kill the survivors to complete their future reality- or they must make sure they return to their watery grave? Wouldn't that be something? Maybe that is what Daniel isn't sure he can do "when the time comes".
although i'm not particularly a kate fan hate how she treats the men in her life i didn't like charlotte belting her one, either. not ready to welcome these new folks with open arms, yet. i want to like frank and daniel, but just not ready to do that. i'm for ALL the 815ers at this point before i'll be giving any high fives to this new group.

Every week I love Daniel more and more :] And I already loved him quite a bit in the first place!
I really don't think he's the kind of person who could, in any way, really justify killing a person. He seems pretty conflicted and unstable already, I doubt he'd be able to kill anyone.
Charlotte definitly doesn't seem nice, but I don't think she'd try and gas everyone on the island...she didn't seem that evil. I can't wait to learn what they're really doing...as long as it's nothing really bad...
a lot of very interesting theories about why charlotte & dan are going to the tempest/orchid. i like the two merging realities one, but don't think they're trying to make it so 815 did crash; it'd be too donnie darkoish. i feel more strongly about them trying to shut down the power on the island so that the freighter can approach it directly and then its not just 2 people you have to worry about but a whole bunch. when/who do you think finds kate? do you think they just leave her there? & i do think dan is capable of killing, especially with charlotte there egging him on, the only question is who? & i hope locke saved some more c4 for when the freighter gets there!

Is it me or do people get knocked cold pretty easily on this show? I would really love to see someone knock a person on the back of the head and the person rub their head and say "What the hell are you doing?". I've heard knocking someone unconscious like that is fairly difficult, but not on this island. They just get knocked cold left and right.
maybe ben can teleport, remember when the stupid ghost loving japanise guy asks him to get money for him, he does ask for more time but is still unfazed after he recieves a bit more time, i'm sure it's a week. This would explain that due to him being able to get the money go back get it to him and back again. No questions were asked about how will you get to see me (ben) again? or anything like that!
