So it looks like Aaron is Claire's Aaron after all!
Bums the word... no DL and CC :(
@mysonjack666 - Who thought Aaron wasn't Claire's? It was just supposed to be an exciting and definitive reveal I think.
It definitely did ask some big questions such as how Kate acquired Aaron or if Claire will ever make it off the island. Evangeline Lily mentioned that Kate might have stolen Aaron, but I don't think that is possible. Kate is too good of person. I have a feeling Claire is going to be killed or perhaps sacrifice herself to save the Oceanic 6 and Aaron.
Evangeline Lily definitely played being a mom very well. I could tell she liked the idea of Kate being a mom. It's amazing how different "Found" Kate is compared to "Lost" Kate.
I don't think Kate would steal Aaron, but I don't think Claire will die either. Maybe Claire make it off the island but is incapable of taking care of her son? I mean, Hurley's in the Mental Health Institute, Sayid is a killer and Jack wants to kill himself, maybe Clarie was droven "crazy" after surviving the island as well?
Maybe Claire can't make it off the island?!
Mothers who concieve on the island die on the island by the time they give birth...but when if mothers who conceive off-island but give birth on-island would die if they leave?
But just because Claire is forced to stay does not mean she doesn't want her son off-island, so she gives him to Kate?
^^that's something like i'm thinking too. However I think as well as the fact can't go back, I don't think she wants to. I have the feeling that she didn't do anything sinister to get Aaron, or else Jack wouldn't approve of it.
Even though Claire loves her baby, it would be quite a touching moment if Ben tells her (or someone like that) that she can't leave, so she gives Aaron up to have a normal life.
Also, didn't Claire sign agree to give the baby away to that family? If she went off the island with him they'd want him back.
Maybe for some reason the 'rescuers' decide that Kate gets to leave and Claire asks her to take Aron with her? I don't know! I hope Claire is fine!
My guess is Kate believes Claire is out of the picture permanently (either dead or stuck on the island). Otherwise, I don't think she would have taught Aaron to call her "mommy."
Maybe that's why Kate doesn't want to go back. She doesn't want to have to give up Aaron.
i thought it was obvious why kate didnt want to go back, if shes caught trying to leave the state she's in deep sh*t and is back in jail
Another big question is why doesn't Jack want to see Aaron?
My guess is that he finds out that he and Claire are related, and then something happens to her and it's his fault.
i wanna know what that prop guy is working on. that sketch that they showed looked pretty strange.
I think there's more to it than just Kate not being allowed to leave the state. In the season 3 finale she doesn't say "she can't go back", the impression I got is that she doesn't want to go back - much like Jack, although something happened to him to make him go back.
I think it's possible something will happen to Kate too that will make her want to go back too.
The only realistic explanations I can see for Kate having Aaron are the following.
a- Claire dies.
b- For some reason they believe that Claire will die if she leaves the island and Aaron will die (or be killed) if he stays.
c- There's some mix-up where Claire is supposed to be right behind Kate in the next batch off the island, then Locke or whoever blows up the (whatever takes them off). For some reason Kate had Aaron in her batch and it should've been very, very temporary.
I thought it was funny when Evangeline said the Lost gods smiled on her by giving her character Aaron since we learned from the psychic in season 1 that anyone else but Claire raising Aaron meant danger for him. Maybe Kate's been blessed, but not so sure about the kid....
But the psychic did say that he could be raised by a couple in LA - maybe Jack and Kate?
Did you believe that when he said Aaron could be raised by a couple? I always took it that as a psychic he knew the plane would crash so he thought that was a chance of either having Claire die or at least getting stuck on the island. So he lied to Claire. Kate though ends up raising Aaron anyway due to course correction as described by the clock lady in Desmond's episode.
@delonte -
In the video it looks like the design is for Miles' ghost busting machine.
Interesting note: Rob Kyker was the guy sitting in Jacob's chair last season during the big "Tivo moment." I remembered that when I saw him with his head turned in this video podcast :-P
Lingjo said... I thought it was funny when Evangeline said the Lost gods smiled on her by giving her character Aaron since we learned from the psychic in season 1 that anyone else but Claire raising Aaron meant danger for him. Maybe Kate's been blessed, but not so sure about the kid....
============
Yeah, I think it's bad news for the kid (woohoo, more bad news!), and at the same time I do think it's probably the fact that Kate really wanted a kid.
She was majorly disappointed she wasn't pregnant (when she told Sawyer). I don't think she knows about the mothers dying, though... so it's at least plausible :)
Why is this posted under spoilers? These and the D&C podcast are not real spoilers. I don't usually go into spoilers and had no idea that D&C made an audio podcast last week until i was told about it in the chat room.
@Dan Morton -
DarkUFO puts the DL and CC ones here because they contain information about future episodes. Last week they said we will see Libby soon, that the Orchid played a role in the polar bear being in Tunisia, and that there will be a trick with the final two Oceanic 6. I assume he puts podcasts like this one here because it would be weird putting different podcasts in different sections. Also, he might not have time to watch or read everything, so he just plays it safe. I'm sure if he posted something on the main page that had even a small spoiler people would be upset. I have friends who refuse to watch even promotions for future episodes because they want it to be a complete surprise, so all things related to future Lost episodes are here. There is no "mild spoilers" section.
I definitely think Kate stole Aaron, that's why Jack's not cool with him or her having him. If she didn't steal him she at least conned Claire into letting her take him. It's who she is. And i have a feeling Aaron's going to be a little demon child in the hands of Kate.
Jack found out his siblings relation with Claire and discovered that his beloved father had another family in Australia, being that Claire/Aaron became a symbol of his father irresponsibilities. Jack does not want to accept that the kid is actually his father's grandson from another family. Jack has too many issues with his father and sees his father's tricks as plain abominations.
The only reason that Kate is with Aaron is that Claire is not going to make it. (You guys must realize that she's being pulled off the cast as one of the people who wants to leave - so this is plainly a writer strategy - it was not supposed to be like this in Season 1).
maybe kate really came to believe getting off the island was the right thing and fought with claire and her maternal instincts came through when claire would not leave, so she steals aaron thinking it's best for him cause claire won't do what's best for him by leaving.
Remember the mobisode with Juliet and Michael? The idea that someone who loves someone else would sacrifice their time with them so that that person could be free, or better was put forth in that mobisode. Maybe that's what Claire had to do for some reason. I like that idea better than Claire just being dead.
Whoa... EDR is known as the actress who wants to leave the show? Jack, please elaborate as I have never heard that one.
i don't think claire would want to stay on the island. didn't desmond see claire on a helicopter getting of the island? so i believe whatever happens to claire happens after she's off the island.
If Claire is still alive and Kate returns to the island with Aaron, she will have to give him back and that's gonna be a traumatic experience for all 3 people involved. Kate would lose the person she has totally started to love, Aaron would suddenly get a new mother and Claire would have her son back and he doesn't even remember her anymore. That's why it's so hard for me to believe that Claire is still alive.
sorry, random Q, but why is it they say lost is on 9 -10.02, is that not a bit exact?
I think Locke will become a tyrant and prevent people from leaving the island. Claire will be one of those who can't leave, but she'll be able to slip Aaron to Kate. Or something.
"sorry, random Q, but why is it they say lost is on 9 -10.02, is that not a bit exact?"
It's a marketing ploy ;-)
2 x 31 minutes = 62 minutes = 9-10.02pm
What a WASTE of a podcast!
That was literally 3:30 of recycled footage of "Eggtown" and previews of an upcoming podcast.
Plus, Evangeline had nothing at all to say. At all.
I love the audio podcasts, but this was an atrocity. I'd rather they not publish podcasts if they aren't even going to try.
Does anyone else feel me on this?
Oh, and to Delonte's comment:
That sketch was of Miles' ghostbusting machine from "Confirmed Dead" - I think they were referring to something else that we haven't yet seen...
But that sketch was definately something we've seen before. I agree, though, it is interesting looking.
Next episode is gonna be hosted by Jacob(Rob Kykek)
Does anyone remember what the psychic told claire about how she wasn't gonna be the person raising aaron or how it would be bad if she wasn't?
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. That was REALLY terrible. C'mon back, Damon, Carlton, and Svetlana the cow...
But I'm glad Kate is finally fufilled and stuff. Pfft.
Some of you people are missing the most important part of the podcast. She confirmed that her baby in the future was, in fact, Claire's baby Aaron. Now there can be no second guessing that Kate had a kid with Sawyer off the island etc. etc. and for people who don't read spoilers this is major information because this whole baby topic is being heavily debated and there's a lot of speculation going on about it right now. So this podcast most cerainly belongs in spoilers for that reason alone.
What I wonder is this:
When does Kate get Aaron, and how - considering SHE IS BANISHED and supposedly leaving the barracks as soon as she walks out of Sawyer's front door?
Something must happen between her and Locke this very same day, on her way back to the beach, like he threatens her and she grabs Aaron just to protect herself. Then she runs away with him because she doesn't know what else to do. It could be one of those "accidental" things, like how she used her sweetheart Tom and got him killed, or something like that.
I don't know. This episode was so very confusing, as in what was the point...does it seem to anyone else like the writers are trying to force Kate to be relevant outside of the love quadrangle? I would love for her to be, but it just seems like they're reaching a bit, inventing more mysteries just so Kate can be involved with them. I'm sure the answers to our questions will fit in somehow, but they don't really promise to be satisfying. I hope I'm wrong.
MUMMY!?!?!?!
is there any way to download this video?
it's not up at the abc site. i can't watch videos at work so i usually just download them to my flashdrive and watch at home.
