"Obtained" in quotes - You legend! ;)
This is going to be a gooooood episode
"im here to die"
WHOA!
Awesome.
So Ben (and Miles) join team Locke.
Did Michael say he is here to die? I guess that explains why in the preview they say that someone will die. It doesn't mean that someone will die in this episode.
I guess Ben forced Michael to lead the boat to destruction (knowing that he would die too) in order to protect Walt.
I also have a feeling the captain knows that Kevin is the spy.
Time to die then. I hope not i always liked Michel.. I never liked ana lu lu and moon bean.
damn that second sneak peek is freaking awesome. Michael pwned Sayid when he said that.
And the captain is a total badass. My new favorite character...
Hahah, what's with the Star Trek red alert noise in the 2nd clip? I hope that's stock sound and not the final cut.
Hurley's reaction following Ben's reveal is going to be sad... but it also made me remember: LIBBY is back in this episode somehow. I bet this episode starts with three bangs... in season two it went bang...bang........bang *commercial* but in season 4 it will go bang...bang.........bang *Ben saying something to Michael*. :)
He's probably on the boat to die in order to save his friends and redeem himself... I don't think he's going to die, especially after the dramatic return, but hopefully this gesture will be a step in the right direction.
No Walt = No Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllltt! = Good Michael character.
i think he IS there to die, but i don't think he will. Especially now that sayid and desmond know he's there. i think they are going to somehow prevent mike's death from going down.
Wow!!! I can't wait for this episode!!! Just to see the characters get answers relieves me.
Wow, thanks for this Dark. I can not wait to see this episode, I know it's going to be really good. And I hope Michael doesn't die, I've always liked his character. I wonder who IS going to die though???? PLAESE don't be Desmond!!! :(
I don't think anyone WILL die in this episode. The reason they mention that in the preview is because of what Michael tells Sayid.
I like thinking out loud and throwing far out stuff into the mix, so here I go:
I've been thinking for a while now that death in some relation to the island may not be a bad thing. Hints being I think Adam and Eve are people we've seen for a while, the whispers seem to belong to "ghostlike" people who perhaps died on the island, Jacob could be dead, Christian Shephrd seems to be enjoying the afterlife, the BlackRock crew could be our "others", etc. None of this firm obviously, just seems not too far fetched that one of the big reveals in season 5 or 6 is what happens to people that die on the island, how they are tied to Adam/Eve, the Whispers and so on. Maybe Michael knows some of these mysteries now and is coming to the island to not only help Ben but to die for some specific reasonthat is tied to Walt.
Geesh, who knows. I tend to actually believe however, that the comment he made is simply tied to the redemptive story line of Michael, and his agreement to help Ben in another effort to help his son.
The first clips was cool, but it made me laugh how none of the "red shirts" got an invite to the big meeting. I'm pretty sure some of the random's left with Locke's group in the Season Opener. I'm interested to see Hurley's reaction to Michael being Ben's spy.
The second clip looks freaking awesome, as usual, I can't wait for next Thursday. I wonder who's gonna bite it this week. I hope, like some have suggested, that nobody dies, but the promo was for Michael saying he was there to die. I don't really want to see another main character bite the dust.
You can mark my words, the captain knows for a fact that Micheal is the saboteur. That is the ONLY reason he has let Sayid and Desmond stay alive. Why would he keep them around if their mission was to execute everyone on the island after retrieving Ben?

lol. That's the first thing I noticed too. There were 4 of them I think (2 men & 2 women). They must have wondered into the jungle and been "eaten" by the smoke monster or maybe they got tired of Locke's benevolent dictatorship and went back to the beach.
I'm excited about this one, especially since it will be the first once since Eggtown with Sawyer. (I don't really count the 2 liner he had in TOW, although I loved the look on his face when he saw Ben.) I'm really not expecting a major character death, especially so soon after Jin's "death". I say that in quotes because I'm one of the people who thinks Jin did not die, but was left behind on island and the headstone in the cemetery is merely part of the cover-up.
Anyway, it will be good to get back to Camp Locke and see what Miles has to say and how the losties will react to it. It will certainly be hard for some of them (like Sawyer) to have to protect someone they hate in order to save their own lives. Knowing that Michael is Ben's man on the boat won't sit too well with them either. Should be interesting. Sayid and Michael's interactions should be very interesting as well.
I'm really looking forward to this, but not the hiatus that follows.
Anyone get that "I'm here to die" could be a reference to the season 1 finale? Michael asks Sawyer "Is that why you're on this boat? Either a hero, or you wanna die." Sayid asks Michael "Why are you on this boat?"
I love that Michael/Kevin has inherited CHARLIE'S HOODIE OF DOOM ! I don't think anyone can ever wear a hoodie on LOST ever again without that seeming like a Charlie shout out.
Also cool to see how Ben is all of a sudden Mr. Direct Answers. The Captain (presuming he was being truthful) was like that in 4x07 too... nice to see how much more direct dialogue can be when the writers/producers actually know how much story they have left, and how much time to tell it.
If Michael *does* die in this episode, which I don't think he will, his contribution to S4 will be too much like Eko and S3... forgotten for a while, and then brought back in a centric episode just to kick the bucket.
hopefully kate dies so i dont have to see her shit acting ever again
Either Sawyer or Miles dies.
I typed these in case there were people without speakers. And it was no problem... I type these for my friend everytime there are new sneek peeks.
1st Sneek Peek
Locke: Thank you all for your patientece. I know it's taken me a few days to figure out our next move, but I didn't wanna do anything untill you knew more about our situation. You deserve to know everything that I do. So,.. no more secrets. As you all know Miles here and three of his people came to the island about a week ago. So, I brought him up from the boat house to shre with us exactly why they're here.
Miles: We're here for him.
Hurley: Uhm... we kind of like knew that forever ago.
Sawyer: All alright then problem solved. How soon do we turn him over?
Locke: We can't turn him over.
Sawyer: Then why the hell not.
Ben: Cause once they have me their orders are to kill everyone else on this island.
Claire: Wait, so he's one of us now? You're... you're going to protect him? He tried to kill you John.
Hurley: Yea, and he won't even tell us who the spy on the boat is.
Ben: It's Michael.
END
2nd Sneek Peek
*Loud siren starts to go off*
Captain: The rules of still apply to everyone. Nobody leaves this ship without my say so. I'm not beating these men to scare you. I beat them to save your lives. Do you remember what happened to the last two men who took of in this boat? Remember what happened to Minkowski? Soon as we get the engines fixed we're back in the hunt. In the meantime everybody just hold on!! Johnson???
Michael: Yes, sir?
Captain: Clean this mess up.
Michael: Sir.
Sayid: Hello, Michael.
Michael: Not now man.
Sayid: Yes.. right now. Why are you on this boat?
Michael: I'm here to die.
END
I can't wait for this episode... it has to be good for them to make us wait four weeks for the next one.
"I love that Michael/Kevin has inherited CHARLIE'S HOODIE OF DOOM ! I don't think anyone can ever wear a hoodie on LOST ever again without that seeming like a Charlie shout out."
I really wish I could look as good in a hoodie as Charlie or Michael.
I LOL'd at Karl's ridiculous outfit and haircut.
"I'm here to die." Hmmmm. I have no idea what that could mean, but I'm sure this episode will tell us (80% sure)
Thank you Kate1432, that is very kind of you.
Why is Karl dressed like a total perve....?
Slicked hair
New T-shirt
Wow, I guess after Bens reveal Camp Locke will come back to action, though I believe that Ben´s just using this threat get them to do what exactly he needs to be done and that Miles is part of it. IMO the 3.2 million dollar where just a code and this is just another of Bens cons.
I don´t believe that anyone important will die in this ep, especially not Sawyer. They can´t do it that in such a casually way without a centric - I mean, this wouldn´t be a death in a FF but really dead and out of the show.
As we only saw ltlle snippets of that szene, I wonder too if there´re any redshirts in that room.
And did anyone could manage to have a closer look who the guy is, who´s beaten up by the captain? For a moment I thought he looks like the blindfolded guy who was beaten by widmore.
It looks like Karl's choice in clothes is 70s Dharma leftovers.
Poor Karl.
I hope Michael is back for good. I think he is a great actor and if you take away the Waaaaaalt lines, he was one of the best characters in Season 1 and 2.
I hope that Des is safe too.
OMG~ Ben shared a secret on camera. 'bout slid out of my seat. :-)
WOH, so the freighters orders are to kill everyone on the island after they get Ben....DANG.....and lol, love the look on Sawyer's face when he looks at Ben. Guess it might not be a bad idea to protect Ben at this point and it explains why he wants Alex out of there.....but if their orders are to kill everyone why would Daniel and Charlotte have stopped the gas?
And Locke, yeah, you're not the only one who should know everything....but why would Ben have not told Jack and Co. that if they get him then they're all dead, what use would it be to keep that secret?
Why would Michael be there to die? Not that I'd mind but I don't get it........but you go Sayid, you get even more sexy when you get forceful!
Finally, some Hurley/Sawyer/Othersville-scenes!
And what about the looks between Sawyer and Hurley when Locke says "No more secrets". Do they have a secret of their own?
Voiceover: SOMEONE... WILL... DIE...
(During the episode, Camp Locke are having their heated discussion about Ben, the freighters, and what to do. A red shirt knocks on the door. Claire opens the door.)
RED SHIRT: Can I come i-
(Exasperated, Locke takes out his gun, shoots the guy, and closes the door.)
LOCKE: So anyway, the man on the boat is Michael...
another thing i wonder about, actually for the first time (i'm late): in ep08 it seems that ben and locke are "together". but we know that future-ben can apparently still get off the island (or IS he off the island?). so in case he could go on/off the island at will - he could help the ones who want help (sawyer, claire...).
a) they are dead and don't need help
b) they have to hide using jacob's help (in this case i still asume they could be contacted by ben)
c) they are held prisoners by the bad guys (why wouldn't they kill them)
d) ben doesn't give a rats a$$
i think that a bunch of people will get killed in the rest of this season, that would make it easier for the producers to push the story.
maybe locke and sawyer and a few others remain, but i am sure that most of the beach people will get killed (including juliette)
LOVE the hurley comment!!
I don't think Michael will die, because Harold Perrineau is listed as a full time cast member, not a guest star. I think if he were to die in only the second episode that he showed up in, that he would be listed as a guest star.
Thanks for "obtaining" these Dark
Sawyer looks gorgeous in that sneak peek!
"Um, we kinda like, knew that, forever ago."
Classic. Ich bein Hurley.
Man, they are so over Locke. The time is definitely ripe for him to pull back from his dictatin' ways, though I don't think the "I had to decide..." stuff is going to fly for long. Do you think they're going to begin to make decisions by consensus, like in a Danish commune? ...prolly not, I'm guessing....
re: Ahrean2007's question "if their orders are to kill everyone why would daniel and charlotte have stopped the gas?"
dan and char could have had a change of heart and couldn't go through with killing everyone.
daniel made the gas inert. but the people on the boat don't know that was done. so if they captured ben, they could still release the "gas," but nothing would happen and no one would die.
could be why the question in the flash forwards everyone keeps asking "are they still alive?"
LOL of course now BEN tells us who the spy on the boat is lol
Yea Michael better not die....and while the two sneak peaks were really awesome, I'm alittle bummed this episode isn't a total flashback ala "The Other 48 Days". They have a lot of info to cover in just 5-6 flashback scenes that only last 4-5 min each.
We have to find out:
-Where's Walt?
-How did Michael get on the boat?
-Why is he the spy?
-Where does Libby come into play?
-Where does Tom come into play?
-Why the name Kevin Johnson?
The last one isn't important but it's still a question lol.
Seems like a lot of information to soak in. Didn't the producers say that this episode will be the start of something new and will set the tone for the remainder of the season?
Dark I can care less for synopsies of the next episode......I just wanna know one thing and ONE THING ONLY! Who's gonna die next week? Plz.....didn't you start the "who will the grim reaper visit?" thing about a month ago? and you haven't updated us.......so plz I beg you to ask your "sources" permission to tell us who will die next week......just give a name.....don't tell how or why just a name will do.
Kevin, the death poll was for last nights episode, that showed Jin to be dead.
I really have no idea who dies next week.
Maybe we see how Jin dies in next weeks episode?
"dan and char could have had a change of heart and couldn't go through with killing everyone."
It could also be that the gas was neutralized so Ben couldn't use it as a defense against the freighter people. There aren't that many 815ers left, and lots of ways to kill them besides gas.
I'm still pretty sure Dan and Charlotte haven't been fully apprised of why they're there, or what the ultimate outcome is supposed to be.
I was wondering about the "red shirts" as well. LOL @ gaz. Anyone else notice how hot Alex is becoming (she's pretty young and it's been 2+ years since we first saw her and time always take the largest toll on young actors... i.e. "giant Walt")? She also has that big hair like Kate going on that I wish I had without ever washing my hair with the most expensive shampoo and extensions.... oh wait...
Alex is truly hot. I hope she gets a little more play in the next few seasons. Karl is this close to red shirtness, though.
And way to keep bringin' the feisty, Claire! Between her and Sun, it almost seems as if the ladies are getting their brains back! Woo!
When Michael said he's there to die. I think he means he will redeem himself by helping everyone on the island get rescued. Also Michael's in for a rough time. Sayid is gonna kick his ass!!
I don't understand why people still think Jin is dead? His "Death" is obviously part of the cover-up and even though he might be dead, the chances of him being dead are the same as every other character who hasn't appeared in a FF.
Sometimes having an IQ as high as Daniel's can be really frustrating (I work in the same field as Daniel does and I have won awards for my math skills so I'm not just bragging about my intelligence).
And yes Alex is hot.
@me
I agree that Jin´s dead is just a cover up off island.
Maybe he had to stay behind for the same reason as Claire?
The question remaining now is who of the O6 will die or was it all just a big marketing thing? Though I don´t want any of them to die, I´d feel cheated.
hey "me" i hate to break it to you, but you kinda ARE bragging about your intelligence, and your comment about your IQ has nothing to do with understanding the concept of Jins death or non death and the FF's.
Jin could still die. they really prepared us for it by resolving the issues he and sun had and by his heartfelt apology. so now he can die..... but i don't want him to.
@ me
No offense dude, I'm sure you're relatively smart..
But you ain't making a mind-time-travelling device any time soon ;)
me...you're kind of hilarious. And "obviously" somewhat socially awkward. Just like Daniel!
@ me
I concur me. I also work in the
same field as Daniel. What a
coincidence !

what a coincidence....
i wonder how many smarty pants are lovers of LOST..
Science smarty-pantses: About as many as are lovers of HEROES, but not as many as are lovers of BSG.
Lit major smarty-pantses: Plenty, but they watched The Wire and Deadwood on DVD in the long off-season and are feeling a little tainted.
perhaps we should start a club for
smarty-pants LOST LOVERS
@ smart people with Daniel's or even higher IQs
Are you serious?!
mwhahahhaahahaaaaaaaa
You made my day!
Just remember you geniuses out there..
Don't get too smart or you'll start to forget and lose some of your incredible knowledge.
Daniel's story is a cautionary tale: Don't try and fit more in your headcase than will comfortably fit :)
LOL!!! its true!
I refused to read the messages that would follow because I had a feeling there would have been some idiotic responses. Anyway I wasn't bragging, I was just talking about how frustrating it is sometimes to talk to people who don't have the same intelligence as you do (and believe me it happens all the time). And that's probably why I am as socially awkward as Daniel (those scenes of him in Oxford with the student and to a lesser extent with Desmond) were very accurate depictions of how someone with an unusually high iq feels around normal people.
@me
I can totally relate. It can be
so exasperating ! It happens
at least 3 times a day. I would
write more but I just bought
new frames for all of
my awards.
To "me"
"Maybe if you speak really sloooowly, we will understand."
With a screen name like "me" why in the world would we possibly think you consider yourself little superior?
i dont think micheal will die in this episode. thats would be pretty grimey if thats the case.in that clip theres alot of truth telling goin on and i cant help but wonder if the beach crew and the barracks crew will reunite since the story is clear to team locke they should tell team jack what they know. by now jack has to be ready to listen. i cant wait to see jack and locke reunite that moment will be priceless
Surly said...
"Um, we kinda like, knew that, forever ago."
Classic. Ich bein Hurley.
And keeping with a lot of recent scenes in Lost, he is also speaking for the audience. We kinda, like, knew that Michael was the spy on the boat forever ago.
I was just talking about how frustrating it is sometimes to talk to people who don't have the same intelligence as you do
double mwhahhahahaaaaa :D
you made my day once again!
Coming to work on a Saturday is crap, but then I read your posts on this blog and I'm smiling again!
Thanks!
Now I'm sorry but I must go back to my abacus because I need to practise more.
Otherwise I'll be having problems in understanding 4*08 and who knows how much I'm going to struggle in the season finale with all that complicated stuff like last year.
@faruk718
I guess youre right about the two camps getting back together. Reuniting the two camps should be exactly what Ben wants. Miles´s story(everybody will be killed once the freighters have Ben) is just made up to optain control over all freighters on the island and to hinder the boat of reaching the island. Ben and Miles are forming a team by seeding doubts.
Daniel's story is a cautionary tale: Don't try and fit more in your headcase than will comfortably fit :)
True. "Every time I learn something new some old stuff gets pushed out" - Homer J Simpson
Only morons think it's good to mention their high IQ. Like the losers who join mensa.
me- i hope you DO read the comments left after your IQ...erm....comment.
they were very funny.
on 2nd thought, maybe they were funny only to us plebeians.
do you above average smarty pants people appreciate humor?
i'm really excited about the next episode, i hope theres a lot more Michael explanation than whats been hinted at though.
To quote Kate at the poker game, "Should I go get a ruler?"
I hear there are support groups for people who are so smart they find it impossible to relate to lower life forms...or IS that what Mensa is for?
People on the beach are screwed if the freighties attack. They have like Jack, Juliet, Jin and Kate to protect everybody...
All the badass characters are at camp Locke: Locke, Ben, Sawyer, Miles and Rousseau could make one hell of a team.

Unless Locke's camp gets gassed (someone reverses the inert)with Hurley and a few others escaping before the attack. Which would explain why he regretted going with Locke in "The Beginning of the End" episode.
Claire wont die because it has been revealed she will find out that she and jack are brother and sister, that'll be a big storyline.
they wont kill jin off so early after finding out he is dead!!
it;s been revealed that it is an original passenger
not michael, because he's just come back!
obviously none of the oceanic 6, unless it's in a flashfoward, Michael might kill them, or die in a flashfoward, meaning they wont leave the cast
Locke's on too much of a journey
That leaves, Sawyer or Walt, but they're not going to kill a kid..
or, i reckon it could be rose or bernard, or ever cindy!!!!
I think that it is Michael but, in a flashfoward, so that he can stay on!
