He's playing piano. He must be evil.
the war is about to begin =D
That was awesome!
thanx for the sawyer fix!!!!
and wow, THEIR COMING!!!!
hahah Ben rocks my bones
Did anyone see how scared Sawyer was when he saw the gun.
But the real question is
WHO THE F*** CALLED Locke to give them the code?
Are the Others watching what is happening on the island from the Temple?
now we know about the call !! i was obsessed since the promo pic lol
Yesss. I love Ben.
A little short, but cool nevertheless.
Did you say "wing attack plan R" !?
It's on!!!
Brief, but awesome!!!
How many different ways are there to say AWESOME!!??
ILU Ben :-)
I dont know if someone told Locke that, maybe it was just a recording or something, like someone tripping a wire and flipping a switch to let them know the island is under attack?
sawyer face when ben grabs the shotgun... priceless.
And we will know how does smokey save alex.
AMAZING! Thanks Dark!
JH overacted here something /=
I do not think Sawyer would get so scared of Ben even with a gun /=
I mena, he has some knowledge how important it is to be cautios, but not those big childish eyes filled with fear /=
The other part I like. =)
He didn't overreact. You give Sawyer too much credit. Considering the shotgun reveal was sudden and almost point blank to his body, I think he'd be visibly startled.
i cant believe that while ben is playing the piano he's sitting on a shotgun the whole time and no one knew. he must have all those houses booby trapped with all kinds of guns and bombs. i wonder what he has in the cookie jar.
ben is always 2steps ahead, now if i could only flashforward my life to next thurs.
LOL, nice snag from the Lostscape site, Dark.
I don't know.
If what, I would like Sawyer to grab Ben instantly and disactivate him.
You know, he shot a bear, when it came out of the blue =)
It seems like too old legend now =)
With all best regards to Sawyer. =)
Can somebody post here a transcipt? I want to know, what they say, thank you :-)
Oh snap!
I'm pretty sure that was a recording on the phone, hence that it was "just repeating"... a wire gets tripped or something, and the barracks' security system makes an automated phone call to the house of the leader (Ben's/Locke's house).
Now that I have that technicality out of the way. That clip did indeed rock.
OMG, that was so cool, but too short. The switch from calm and soothing (Ben playing the piano) to intense and almost frantic in the span of a few seconds was amazing. As Ben told Locke before, he always has a plan. I was as startled as Sawyer when I saw him whip out the shotgun from the piano seat. Ben is still in charge, no matter what Locke thinks. He proved it to me in those few seconds.
Transcription (maybe not in an appropriate english but I try) =)
Piano: piano sounds =)
Locke: What's called 14 J?
Ben: Where did you hera that?
Locke: Phone rang, I picked it up, a voice kept repeating code ....
Ben hands the gun to Sawyer.
Ben: Here, get to the other house (something I can't figure) and we'll have better positions on the treelines
Locke: What are you talking about?
Ben: They're here!!
[Ben plays piano in his house]
[Loke and Sawyer barge in]
LOCKE: What's code 14J?
[Ben's eyes go wide]
BEN: Where did you hear that?
LOCKE: Phone rang, I picked it up, a voice kept repeating code f...
[Ben whips a sawed off shotgun from the piano seat and hands it to Sawyer]
BEN: We have to get to the other house, it's easier to fortify and we'll have better position on the tree lines
LOCKE: What are you talking about?
[Ben opens the door and steps out]
BEN: They're here!
Dang it, nodecode, we must have posted at the same time!
Thanks!
I just love that piece of music! and I love ben! and sawyers face when ben hands him the shotgun! win all over!
That piece ben is playing is Rachmaninov, a genius of the composer world... interesting.
Yes, Glass eye, I think we may just spoil fragnatic =)
Awesome.
Definition: Far beyond what is usual, normal, or customary.
Synonyms: exceptional, extraordinary, magnificent, outstanding, preeminent, remarkable, singular, towering, uncommon, unusual.
That about covers it :)
Ben knows what hes doing. I mean, he has one shotgun, so who does he give it to? The guy who will do the most damage. Sawyer.
Sawyer + Shotgun = Victory!
I know that its an exaggeration but Sawyer with a shotgun is cool lol.
OMGJCIJCW!
Translation: Oh my God, Jesus Christ, I just can't wait!
How cool would it be if some Rachmaninov continued to play, soundtrack style, whilst the carnage began. Ala Platoon. Throw in some majestic aerial shots of Sawyer being a badass and takin' peeps down and you'd have my favourite Lost scene ever.
Ben does know what he is doing. Giving Sawyer the shotgun is to buy him time to use his secret escape route which he conveniently forgets to tell Sawyer about. I don't think he expects him to rescue Claire and escape the barracks.
Coolllllllll ! I want to get fast to the 24 !!!!
Does anybody know which is the name of the song in piano ?
Thnx!
^
Yeah, does anyone know which Rachminov composition this is? I want to make my 'Lost meets platoon' scenario a reality in 'Fan Fiction' after the ep. is released :)
Prelude In C Sharp Minor Op.3 No.2
Thank you Jon, much appreciated :)
Thankksss!
lets practice it!
JAMES+Locke+Ben+action is to me one of the best situations to get fun watching Lost. Good, here we goooo!
OMFG!!!!
Be Friday morning!!!
One word: AWSOME!!
And is this the moment where Ben and Locke escapes through the secret door as the true cowards they are leaving Sawyer with the shotgun and dont expect him to save Claire and survive? It would explain why Sawyer later points his gun at Locke, leaves them behind and try to go back to the beach with Miles and Claire.
Cooper: I think yours is a good theory; the Others might be watching the island from the Temple and called Ben's house to warn them about the freighter people.
But I have doubt whether the voice that repeats the code is a digital voice or somebody that is calling from the Temple. Maybe its the defensive side of the island and gives the code from somewhere. It reminded me a bit of Enter 77.

Yeah, that's my guess. Ben knew exactly what that was and knew it was really bad.
Bad things will happen very shortly after that. Man I love Michael Emerson!
Sorry for double posting, but when Locke said 'What's code 14J', Ben's eyes look like he's seriously scared out of cotton picking mind.
If his eyes got any larger they'd pop out of his face :)
holy crap I can't wait!!!! what a perfect clip for a sneak peak, it doesn't really spoil anything we already didn't know but gets you wanting more.
Sawyer is afraid of Ben and with good reason after what Ben did to him. That time after he told Sawyer he put a pacemaker in his heart and Sawyer woke-up and saw Ben sitting beside him in his cage, their was a look of terror in his eyes before he covered it.
Sawyer thought Ben was going to shoot him before he handed him the gun.
Strangely enough, I think Ben respects Sawyer and thinks Locke is a fool.
I think Ben is going to end up saving Sawyer when he gets hurt running to Claire's house just as it explodes. That Ben will rush out and drag him into the house to safety. There was a promo pic where both Sawyer and Ben were all sooty looking and one with Sawyer sitting down watching Ben/Locke moving furniture around.
That was the best sneak peek I've ever seen, with only 32 seconds, it freak me out since the beginning, with that creepy piano music, from ben, terrific!!!!!! Can't wait any longer..
There is nothing to analyze, it was really awesome.....
LOST rocks! all the way...
Jacob dosen't talk to fools. Shooting Locke and leaving him in that ditch was the greatest sign of respect Benjamin Linus has ever shown anyone :)
the creepiest thing I've ever seen
i think ben gave sawyer the gun and said lets move to a different house. so sawyer probably saved claire and was running back to bens house when it explodes. bens might've planted a bomb in the house, (unlimited amount of c4 they seem to have). thats the house the frieghties want, so blow it up. then ben and locke escape, and leave sawyer, claire and miles.
i doubt the barracks has a security trip wire to warn them of a breach, becuz kate, locke, sayid, and danielle breached pretty easily didnt they? its gotta be the temple, wit all the multiple viewing screens
Oh man, it is going to get ugly!! I am so excited for these final episodes of season to start!!
i wonder why the code didn't go off when locke/kate/sayid/danielle went to the barracks? either they didn't trip it b/c of danielle's knowledge of that area (assuming she knows very well what the barracks are) or the wire is set in a different part of the island approaching the barracks. or it could go off if the pylons are just completely blown up... nonetheless very cool promo, sawyers eyes were priceless and after seeing the more recent promo pics, i'm dying to know whats so bright in the barracks in those nighttime screencaps
hostilefreighter@
Compared to the Freighters Sayid, Kate and Locke were pretty harmless and the Others knew that. The code might only be used when outsiders (like Widmore) arrives at the island. Some serious danger, so to speak:)
Cool piano piece... wonder who wrote it.
ummm... Rachmaninoff?
Whoa! Awesome! Is that the same piano Jack was playing in TMFT?
14J!

Good Call!!!!, Those who were thinking Locke can be easily manipulated by faith and answers could not be so right. Locke was and is a danger for Benjamin legacy, and that is why I think, Benjamin change his mind about shooting him, the ditch and stuff... He might be right now thinking for the good of the island instead of his authority, But I recognize he might be thing about it after things get better. But we all know things won't get better in a few years, At least that's what "The economist" show us.

It's a very solumn and depressing piece. Somehow Chopin comes to mind for that reason. (It has almost the same tone and beat (not tune, obviously) as his funeral march.)
But I'm unsure if it's him or not.
I agree. I think the reason Ben didn't kill Locke was because Locke told him that Jacob needed his help.
Ben is still afraid of Jacob.
Strangely enough, I think Ben respects Sawyer and thinks Locke is a fool.
I think Ben knows Locke is special and I think he is treating him the way he does because he wants to push John to the point where he finally finds the strength to do what he has to do.
Considering his behaviour towards Sawyer, I would say Ben doesn’t care about him that much. He tricked him and used him for his purposes and that’s all I can see going on between those two so far.
@samus
It was in an earlier post:
Rachmaninov,Prelude In C Sharp Minor Op.3 No.2
Maybe Ben is aware about Sawyers bad aim and a shot gun is the best weapon for him.
I guess that's why the writers have gone to great lengths to show what an incompetent leader Locke is and what a tool he is in regards to Ben.
The island used and manipulated Ben to get rid of Dharma, and now it's doing the same thing with Locke to get rid of Ben. It tried first via Ben's cancer which would have killed him if not for Jack saving him. Now it's going to use Locke.
I think the island has been testing Locke to see how far it can get him to go for the island. First big test was the sacrifice of Boone.
John Locke is the biggest tool in the drawer, as has been proven time and again. All the island had to do was tell him to stop Naomi and he was throwing a knife in her back. He's come a long way, baby, and the island totally own him.
Once the island uses Locke to get rid of Ben, it'll no doubt find someone new to get rid of Locke.
yes, that was the best, most surprising sneak peek ive ever sneaked a peek at too.
I love scenes with Ben, Locke and Sawyer - lets hope there are plenty more in the future!
That was cool.
And Locke is still as clueless as ever. Can he be the major shocking death please?
Thanks Jon for the Rachmaninov name and title! I knew that it sounded familiar (like the piece played in The Seven Year Itch). Rachmaninov is so slow and ominous, perfect for the anticipation of what's to come on the island.
Agree with you about Locke, Sockerock! :-D

Um, how in holy heck could he POSSIBLY know what code14j is?
Oh, thank you guys. I am learning it right now. Awesome piece.
I do think it's interesting that Ben hands that gun right to Sawyer, when you consider in the last episode Sawyer was all for handing Ben over, not to mention the little stare-down the two had before Locke arrived. And in Confirmed Dead, Sawyer beat Ben up and was ready to shoot him twice. Yet, he takes out a sawed off shotgun and hands it right to him. That denotes a strange level of trust on Ben's part.
Ben, Sawyer and Locke are my favorite triangle. You gotta laugh at Sawyer following Locke to see Ben. It's like, "Oh, no, you two aren't going to put your heads together and keep things from me. I'm going to know exactly what's going on." And in the promo pics for episode 10 it looks like Locke has betrayed Sawyer for Ben, the man who shot him and left him for dead.
The writers really struck gold putting these three together.
haha I'd like to see Ben playing Rachmaninoff in real life!
haha I'd like to see Ben playing Rachmaninoff in real life!
LOL look at sawyers face when ben picks up the shotty....
who was that on the phone......? was it a sort of alarm tripwire thing?
Jon - "That piece ben is playing is Rachmaninov, a genius of the composer world... interesting."
THANK you:) I was wondering that!
I can't really see the vid so I didn';t know there was any gun or that Sawyer was there. It's so very dark, I just see the figure of Ben and hear the slam of a door and then Locke speaks and Ben answers.
5 DAYS TILL LOST!!! OMG this episode looks sooo good!!! I'm the biggest Jater so Jack and Kate better have some good scenes!
I hope Locke is the major death at the end of the episode...i hate that bald headed creep
Yeah, cos he really crossed the line when he lost his hair ;)
I wouldn't doubt for a second that it was Michael who phoned in the "Code 14-J". Yeah, Sayid turned him into Captain Gault, but we have no idea what events transpired on the freighter after that point.
Also, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Ben either is Smokey or has some extent of control over it.
*in to (not "into")
Pretty big difference. ^_^
Ben's freaking genious... Damn! He's the "bad one" but he's so good at it you can't really dislike or hate him. I would like to be inside that mind of his and see how he measures everything and controls everyone.
If I was a lostie, I would never trust him but I'm sure he would use that to his advantage anyway.
Ben always amazes me, for sure.
Absolutely brilliant, best sneak peek ever.
I don't think I've EVER seen Locke in a blue shirt before.
I can't wait for Locke to get back into the jungle and those sweaty shirts again. The clean shirt thing is freaking me out. He's become a pharisee!
Yes, Locke is a tool and a fool who does all sorts of idiotic things because he's so desperate to have a destiny. But he'll be redeemed, as will Jack (also a tool and a fool who does all sorts of idiotic things because he's so desperate to prove he DOESN'T have a destiny). Lost is their story, the story of the reconciliation of their two philosophies, so anyone expecting Locke to be a "major death" is sorely deluded.
I wanted more Rach - I was so disappointed when Ben jumped up! I could imagine people going down while Ben was playing...
Yeah, watching it again... I would have had him keep playing until Locke said '14J'
Why would Sawyer need a shotgun? In "Beggnning of the End" and "Confirmed Dead" we c Sawyer with an automatic rifle and a pistol.
