This is what's so great about Juliet. Where the other women on the island breaks down in tears she jokes, smiles, toughens up and then knocks the guy out if she have to. Sweet, sweet Juliet... :D

I agree that Juliet is awesome. But Kate is too. Just because she's crying in that promo doesn't mean she doesn't have it in her to get hardcore. She drugged Jack that one time. Maybe she doesn't want to knock him over the head but that's understandable, IMO. We've seen like three seconds of Kate in this ep so far... I doubt she's ONLY going to be a crying mess. And I think her pain at seeing Jack's pain is actually indicative of deep feelings.
We already know that Kate has "deep feelings" for Jack. Juliet and Kate both feel for Jack. They've both shared intimate moments with him and they've both kissed him, etc. I agree, though, that Juliet is so much more of a bad ass than Kate, and I'm not basing that solely off of what I've seen in recent sneak peeks. Juliet has had her share of teary moments, but being an Other is hard work. Those may not have been her exact words, but she said it herself, and I think living on the island for 3 years under Ben's watch has turned her into something much more "cut the bullshit" than Kate, and I like that a lot about her character. Kate can have her bullshit.

Juliet truly is made of awesome. I mean, she's shaving down Jack's belly beard, of her own free will. That's pretty indicative of how strong her feelings for him must be.

Also, after seeing what happens to people who rip on Kate and/or Jack, I just want to cover all of my bases. I don't like Kate. She's become relatively obnoxious and uninteresting to me. That said, I totally get where are all you shippers are coming from. I get that you want them to kiss and love and live happily ever after, because that's what you're into. There are so many dynamics to this show that I don't feel like I'm missing out on much by not "jumping ship" for any specific characters. I'm open to wherever the show wants to go, because up until this point, I've never been let down... Except of course for that one time, but we don't talk about that any more.
Clearly, Kate just doesn't love Jack enough to shave him. Guess that wraps up the love triangle!

Yes, I still want Kate to end up with Sawyer and have that fairy tale-ending and all that (in Lost, yeah right!) but I totally agree. Right now the woman annoys the hell out of me! ... So no, not every shipper plans to murder everyone who dares to tell the truth;)

He looks so freaked out and almost vulnerable, which isn't a side of Jack we see very often but I guess I would be too if I was getting ready to let a fertility doctor perform surgery on me without the benefit of anesthesia. Poor Jack. : (
Juliet is great. She's probably more freaked out than he is and still manages to crack a joke. I can't wait to see the whole episode, it looks pretty intense.
I don't think this will be boring at all.
Jack centric episodes are only good when they include Christian. I have a feeling Christian will have a talk with Jack when Jack is unconscious.

Poor Jack, to go under a surgical procedure on an island without an anaesthesic most be one of the worst things in the world.
It's great Jack is not the only doctor there anymore, even if that's not Juliet's specialty, she has done it before. Better that than fainting because of the damn pain.

The good news: Juliet fancies a shot at the job.
The bad news: Apparently there's no anaesthesic. And nobody knows where Desmond keeps his booze.
The fact he's back on his feet practically the next day earns the doc some badass points to be fair :)
I didn't like Juliet before, when she was with the others but now I truly like her, I think she rocks...

BTW, what about the heroin??? Did it all disappear with the hatch? I'm not a doctor, so I don't know if they could use it during the surgery but I think it could help...

Well, he's definitely bad ass then, I wouldn't think twice about using the heroin... I mean, that has to hurt like hell.
I didn't thought that about the oxycodone before and well, it's an opioid medication and he definitely looks pretty messed up in the future : (

I made a comment in another post about what would happen to Jack if he was forced away from his scientific sensibilities and made to confront the 'faith' aspect of the show, the stranger things such as Jacob, apparitions etc.
Maybe that's what we're seeing. The island exerting some kind of pull on him, something he dosen't understand in the same way someone like Locke does. His emotional state is very similar to Michael's in 'Meet Kevin Johnson'. Maybe he encountered his dead father who appeared as real as Charlie did to Hurley?
That'd have anyone mixing screwdrivers and reaching for the oxy ;)
I feel bad for Juliet. She's only going to get hurt. I'm hoping maybe she'll get involved with Frank [god willing he's made a regular] or Richard.

Yes, you're right. Like all his world foundations, all he strongly believed just fell apart and now he knows he has to go back to find the answers... must be very frustrating to know you committed such mistake as the island is not an easy place to go.
I think all the O6 will come to understand this sooner or later.
Even if he might seem nuts at times, Locke has been so right about what a great gift was to be there and I really felt bad on the last season finale when I saw this desperate Jack telling Kate that he goes on the flights hoping the same thing to happen again, that they have to go back...
A perfect song for all this situation would be "The Scientist" by Coldplay.

Yeah, I agree with the people who have said that this is probably going to be a boring episode. They gave us a heavy mythology episode last week, so this week we get boring relationship stuff. I mean seriously, who cares?
I'm not saying I don't want Jacket, Jate, or Skate to live happily ever after, I really hope at least one of those combos do, but I care less and less about it every week that it gets dragged out. And unfortunately the writers have to drag it out, in order to please all the ridiculous people who care more about the triangle than the rest of the plot of the show.
I know that the show is a character based show, and that the writers think the characters are more important than the mythology, and I think I agree. But there's more to characters than love triangles.
Still, I bet I'll love this episode, since I love almost every episode of Lost. But it very likely won't be one of my favorites.

i really hope this episode will be better than i think it is gonna be. dont get me wrong, it looks ok so far, and this sneak peak was cute (although a tad boring), but...we'll see. thing is, we know jack lives, so whats the point in seeing him ill? we wont exactly be on the edge of our seats wondering if he lives or dies.
i am glad though, that juliet has done the procedure before.

The significance of the scene is pretty clear to me, but you need to change your focus from stomach hair and shaving in order to appreciate it.
@venus: bashing the actor and the character together by calling him "a bear" just because he has hair in his chest is not a nice thing to do!
