Okay, i am ALL FOR making it more realistic and believable by having people in danger and die and what not, but i can't help but NOT want anybody else to die througout the rest of the show. At least the losties anyway, if anyone dies it could/should be like keamy or abbadon or something. If sawyer or Locke or Desmond or any main person dies soon i will completely hate it.

He just says they are filming an amazing death sequence and hints that it involves Smokey. Didn't Darlton say we'd be seeing a different version of Smokey? You all need to relax, it's probably nothing more than Smokey taking care of one of the bad guys from the freighter or some insignificant Other.

Yeah I get the impression that Smokey's going to be doing the killing. Spectacular death? Smokey's return? Has to be.
One of the freighter/mercenary guys perhaps? Although Keamy is listed for 4x10 so it can't be him. But I really like the idea of Smokey arriving and massacring all of Keamy's buddies. Although a (seemingly) invincible security system that kills all the bad guys would really limit any supposed threat to the island.

Keamy does seem kinda isolated in the new promo (which seems to feature some smokeyesque sounds) so it could well be his team of sniper cowards who meet their match...and then some.

Here's the thing. Smokey can't get into the Barracks, due to the sonar fence. At least, that is the case when the fence in active.
We know that Sawyer, Claire, Miles and Aaron take a trek through the jungle towards the beach. Maybe they encounter Smokey on the way, and perhaps Claire kicks the bucket.
Just an idea.

I really hope that this happens. I was thinking about this the other day, actually, but I just imagined a scene during a war on the island, where the bad freighter guys just get completely f'd by Mr. Smoke. How ridiculously badass would that be???
Remember the 1st season where they couldn't even go into the jungle without running into it? What happened to that?? Now, they just go traipsing all around the island whenever they feel like it, and there is rarely a threat, let alone an encounter...

Also Keamey is listed for episode 10 but Alex isn't. So it isn't Keamey either.
Last I heard it's Hurley who is supposed to have an encounter with the Smoke Monster.

The fact that Keamy is in the Episode 4.10 Press Release is no indication of his safety. He could be involved in a FB or we could see his dead body etc. It's happened many times before on Lost.

On the 4/24 episode of Lost, there will be an "amazing death sequence". The smoke monster will also return in that episode (which may/may not be related to the death).

1) She is in the official description for episode 4x10 that says she goes to the beach with Miles, Sawyer and Aaron.

The death is for episode 9, the episode Smokey returns.
My bet is still Keamy, seeing as Naomi was listed on the guest-list for 4x03 - The Economist, when all we saw was her dead body.

What if the spectacular death is another fake-out like Jin being dead?
The big thing going on in episode 9 is Claire's house exploding while Sawyer is running towards it. He wouldn't be running towards it if Claire wasn't inside. So it'll appear Claire is dead, but by episode 10 it'll be revealed someone got her out via a secret passage like Ben has in his house. All the barrack houses may have similar escape routes.
I think it's definitely smoke monster > keamy. That would certainly classify as "spectacular". I've been saying it over and over again, we need a smoke monster vs. freighters scene!

Ever since that rumor about season 4 being about magic (island) vs. technology (freighter) I had the idea of a smokey vs. freighters scene. I want to see the freighters using all the technology they can in order to fight smokey. That would be so cool. And/or Smokey saves the losties at the last second, like Locke has a gun to his head, and it's all over, and then HOLY SH*T THE F***IN SMOKE MONSTER ZOOMS IN AND TEARS THEM THE F*** UP!!!!!
A while back there was a spoiler about Smokey not liking the newbies (Freighties) on the island.
Now we know he'll (or is it a she?) return and someone will die.

What if Ben has the power to summon smokey, in the scene where we see Ben looking out of the window as Keamy says I'm going to kill your daughter!
Maybe Ben then summons the smoke monster! As he watches from the window, the smoke monster grabs Keamy and kills him, saving Alex! Then the Locke group all sees that Ben is special. Ben says if you want to live I am your bet hope.. What's up with that crazy looking door he tries to open? Where does it lead? Is it the magic box? hehehe! I think Clare is safe, although i think she gets hurt in the blast! A lot of people seem to need saving this coming episode. Jack, Clare, Sawyer, Keamy, some others I'm sure.
Im going that the "spectacular death" is keamy... by smokey after locke asks smokey to save alex and remove the threat to the island.

My guess? Keamy. They hint at Smokey doing it in the first episode back, and with clues left that there's an arc for Claire coming up, that makes little sense. The previews have given away that Keamy will hold Alex hostage, and I don't think Alex dies right away. So, something has to stop Keamy.
The interesting point is if this will point to a relationship between Smokey and Ben that's deeper than expected
Keamy is in episode 10, Claire will be having her huge storyline coming, Sawyer has stuff in future episodes too, Gault isn't in the episode. Also, we know Nadia is dying, but how can the death be spectacular when we don't even have a death scene?
I don't think it's anyone on that list. Or maybe it's Claire. Well, let's say that if it IS someone on that list, my money's on Claire. But I still don't think so. Someone else is going to kick it. Probably not even a regular.

The Sonar Fence isn't activated.
If you remember that deleted scene from Confirmed Dead where Kate, Sayid and Miles reach the fence and Miles walks throughout.
Plus Locke doesn't even know the code, so yet i don't think the sonar fence is on.
Surely, this has to be Nadia.
We already know her funeral is in this episode.
It's garunteed that it's not Claire or Sawyer. (besides looks like there's Claire episode coming up, so if she does die, it will be then)

Going down the list one by one based upon ausiello saying the spectacular death will occur in the first ep. back (#9)
claire - can't be as it is rumored that she is in future eps with miles, aaron &...
sawyer - same reason as claire, and he ain't dying until season 6 if he does at all. think the kiss is him and kate also - with him telling kate he loves her, a big step towards becoming a real, honest person, and a tender side of him only shown in small flashes thus far.
nadia - don't think so. ep 9 which the pics from the funeral are supposed to be from is ben centric, and would take up too much time on just nadia by showing how she was killed in addition to how he recruits sayid. she won't be offed until ep 12 i'm betting.
keamy - don't think so as he's listed as a guest in future eps past ep 9 and i believe will become a sort of uber villain on-island for the losties
captain gault - not sure, it is possible, as doc ray was killed, if it does happen it will be in a very brief freighter sequence in ep 9, i feel the bulk of the episode will be barracks oriented, with some beach action in there too.
Omar - This is who my money is on, and he will be killed by the smoke monster/cerberus in front of a bunch of people - either fellow freighters or at the barracks itself (i think miles' powers can disable the sonar fence, he's the last person i'd want tied up there because of his abilities). eko was killed alone, the pilot jack, kate & charlie only saw him get ripped out of his seat, and boone only saw smokie in action during his acid trip.
hostilefreighter, I think the kiss will be Sawyer, but he won't be kissing Kate. He'll be kissing Claire. Sawyer has already told Kate he loves her. He asked her to stay with him. The problem isn't him, it's her and her waffling between him and Jack and treating Sawyer like crap.
They said the kiss would complicate the triangle, and since Kate kissing either Jack or Sawyer wouldn't complicate it, it means a new element is being added. I think Claire's big new story is a romance with Sawyer.
Sawyer running towards Claire's house to save her risking being killed, then Sawyer and Claire facing danger as they try to make it back to the beach, seems to be the set-up the writers spoke about.
Personally, as I said before, I think Sawyer is going to think Claire died in the house explosion, then when they arrive where ever Ben is leading them he'll find Claire alive, and that's when he and Claire decide to go back to the beach.
The new gimmick this year seems to be fake-out deaths:

I don't think Claire is going to die. It would be kinda dumb for them to kill her off but give her a story arc that's suppose to be big.

I think the odds are better that Desmond bites the dust. There really isn't a part for him on the island anymore. He was in with Jack's crew and I think Locke's crew is going to be the main group.
It's 50/50 whether he buys it on the freighter or gets rescued with the 06.

I don't believe this will happen, but based upon new posts i am picturing...keamy holding alex at gunpoint with ben looking through the window (or open door of his house, can't tell) telling her "everything is going to be ok". ben may just be saying that or knows whats going to happen, they may have heard smokie at the barracks prior to keamy and other freighter people arriving. as keamy gets ready to shoot alex in the head the smoke monster dives down and basically splatters keamy before flying away again leaving alex still on her knees in disbelief, covered in...keamy. if this happens i guess future keamy appearances listed are either hoaxes or part of mini flashbacks? my money is still on omar, he basically is the same character as keame (based upon the character profiles from waaaaay back, both military types, loyal friends but the last people you want to make enemies with i believe was both of their descrips) and as such, they can lose one and keame has had more screen time and just looks and acts creepier.
still not sure if sawyer is running towards claire's cabin though. why would they blow it up, so the freighters won't be able to make dharma initiative coffee? it seems more logical that ben & locke go downstairs to the big basement where locke was held to go to the passage leading to the orchid. ben, to protect the island, sets up a bomb to go off, timing it so him and locke will basically be en route to the orchid when it goes, blowing up the cabin, the communication equipment in the cabin as well as other valuable info so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
hostilefreighter, the first promo they did after Meet Kevin John showed Sawyer in Ben's house with his face all sooty, obviously from the explosion, because he's shown running towards the house as it explodes, saying, "Why slaughter people without even telling them why?" Ben's face is also sooty, so maybe he ran outside to drag Sawyer back into the house.
Hurley also says, "Is that Claire's house?"
So, I think it's safe to assume it's not Ben's house that blows, but Claire's.
Also when Keamy is holding a gun to Alex's head he's standing in front of the shell of something that's burnt out or blown-up, while Ben's in the house, so from all that it can't be Ben's house.
I think if they kill Claire, which I don't think they will, but if they do they'll lose the last smidgen of respect I have for them, and that isn't much.
Why couldn't this "spectacular death" be a continuation of Rousseau being shot?
As many do, I think she's mortally wounded but not dead. If Damon and Carlton have folded her backstory into an elaborate flashback culminating in her actual demise, that may very well fit the criteria that Ausiello's 815 mole hinted at.
Seeing a flashback of Rousseau's science boat crashing, meeting the long-mysterious Robert, Brennan and Montand, that would all be squarely in the SPECTACULAR category for me.

This is a spoiler from another section and would tie in with a few suggestions above. This could link in with numerous posts that Ben summons Smokey to save Alex and kill Keamy, especially as Keamy says “im going to kill your daughter” and ben says to Alex “everything is going to be ok”. Then it is revealed that Ben controls or has some control over the monster, hence why we haven’t seen Smokey for so long, it could be because Ben hasn’t needed to use it.
Just an idea but my money is on Keamy or Omar to bight the dust!!
watch it be the smokemonster coming back but in karl's body (Danielle is still alive so smokey can't use a live body) to protect Alex from that bastard Keamy.
