I would however love to see one major plot element, storyline, capture scene or just something that DOESN'T involve Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Locke or Ben. And I do like Ben, it's just I'd like to see others get the same screen time as those five. Especially kate, I'm sick of the woman being involved with EVERYTHING.

a deadbeat dad like Sawyer defending his kid..."spectacular"? sorry, not IMO. he denied paternity and hasn't been a part of her life. sure, he set her up w/some money but what else has he done for her? he's not even interested in leaving the island, essentially, making sure he never sees her again. not that i think he wouldn't defend her if she were there but the idea doesn't exactly warm my heart.
Yeah I have to agree with mikeo3, we don;t care about the triangle anymore. We did. But not really anymore.
And why is that guys? 'Cause you stopped making us care. First we know Kate and Jack are together. Sawyer was never really a part of this triangle. Sure, they sleept together, but that was a means to an ends for Kate. Kate for Sawyer was never more than a flirtation - really.

The Spectacular is between kate and sawyer on the chopper like we saw on the promos.
The other one is between jin and sun on the boat right before jin goes to help michael and desmond to stop the bomb for a few minutes.
Enough. With the kiss and triangle/shipper stuff, alright. We get it by now. There is a kiss in the finale. They keep throwing this out there. TV Guide, Ausillio, Kristen, etc...Does anybody care anymore. I just want the finale to happen so I can stop reading about this supposed spoiler. Thank you and good day.

Jenny, I see what you're saying but you missed my point. Whether or not he abandoned his kid in the past is a mute point, what WAS my point is that recently we've seen that Sawyer can have concern for someone other than himself and that if he found out they took this child he fathered I DO believe he WOULD have an extreme reaction to this and probably rip someone's head off to get her back to her mother. And yes, that would be cool to see because Sawyer has grown as a person, which makes me wonder why he still even has feelings for someone as selfish as Kate. Sure, she takes on someone elses' kid but I've never seen someone who is so out for herself and doesn't evolve beyond that, even after this experience.

well, i disagree about kate because we often see her racing around to find someone else...jack, sawyer, claire...i mean, when you really think about it, for her, staying on the island is the ultimate escape. yet most of her actions, other than the sexual ones, have pretty much revolved around helping out the group. and um, i think you could argue her sexual actions have helped some people out too :) basically, everyone thinks kate is selfish because of all the triangle crap but she has, since the start, been involved w/all of the adventurous stuff on the island that relates to helping them get off (the island, i mean!) and of course you could argue that she doesn't want to get too close to either guy because of her past involvment w/men getting hurt by her.
Evangeline Lilly needs to dial 911. Her character is being murdered by a geometric shape.

and people, ya gotta remember, we LOST (online) fans are not th eonly people who watch this show! waaaay more people who ARE interested in the triangle (and really, what show DOESN'Thave one?) watch than us. and a good percentage of the people who post here DO care too. so TPTB are playing into that because w/o an audience, there's no show. they need to keep all parties interested. so unless you want them to stop filming scenes w/sci-fi elements to please the romance-lovers (probably a large percentage of the total viewing audience) you probably should just deal. i mean in all, how many sci-fi/mystery type scenes are there vs. booty call scenes? quite a bit more.

I don't mind romance on the show at all, in fact one particular Desmond and Penny scene ranks among my all-time favourites.
But the triangle has been in the oven too long and is looking overcooked with two whole seasons to go. Also, the fact that Darlton are hyping kisses on the eve of the finale is a telling indication of their primary audience and possibly even an indictment of events elsewhere in said finale.

It seems that keeping the triangle alive is their primary concern. I remember Cuse telling in an interview about audiences being inerested in "who will kate choose?" more than the mythology. God, he is so wrong. There may be people who debate it too much on that but they are the ones who make this a subject. Find a better subject then people will start to talk about it. Enoughhhhhhh... Just how many people watch Lost for it?? I know nobody who watch Lost for Kate's love life which sucks and lowers the quality of Jack and Sawyer's story. Sawyer has turned into a second rate romance character, Kate a teenager playing with her toys while crying continuously. Triangle even killed Juliet character. This is the weakest and worst subject of Lost. Losties are dying one by one (I have no problem with it) and I can't stand the fact that in each season finale these 3 characters play their triangle drama. Guys sacrificing themselves for Kate in turns, Kate kissing them in turns. It's daytime soap opera stuff. With their silly triangle marketing, I'm just getting more and more annoyed with the characters and with the writers and with the so called triangle fans.

Lost didn't become a phenomenon because it featured three people who fancy each other. There's a hundred other shows with that same dynamic. It took on a life of it's own because of the mystery and the intrigue. The 'wtf' factor. It's the mythology that inspired a million theories.
The writers would do well to remember that.

If that's the most important thing to be hyped (they even made comparison to Grey's Anatomy kisses... vomit!!), the finale is really lacking in substance.

Agree with you, Queen Z. I have nothing against romance, it doesn't bother me at all, actually, I like it. The thing is they don't help much talking about it all the time, nor making Kate a player more than a person with much more important things to give.
I keep thinking (and truly hope) they're doing this as a distraction. I mean, maybe this is the best way they find not to talk much about the important stuff.
The bad thing is that this doesn't help their characters, specially Kate's one, and she's just one of the few girls standing on the show. I really hope she changes in the future, because I really used to like her...

I think future Kate pretty much has her shit together and raising Aaron is her no 1 priority which is fantastic.
Logically speaking, she pretty much sees Aaron as her own son now and thats why she doesnt want to venture on craphole island.

Did anyone else wonder why that dude that cleared Kate and that Marshal dude at the airport in Sydney hasn't come forth and said, "Hey, when Kate boarded 815 she was pretty damn skinny for someone supposedly 6 months along! (As Kate said she was in the press conference after the O6 was rescued). Just curious, I mean we're not all Nicole Kidman (who is around that far along and barely looks pregnant).

I LOVE the triangle. I LOVE Kate AND Sawyer AND Jack. You people take this fiction waaaaaay too seriously. Get a grip -- it's network television. The plot is great fun, but it's all over the place. The romance is what draws viewers back when they've missed an episode and can't figure out what the H#@% is going on with the plot. Without it, LOST would gradually lose it's audience and be cancelled! Romance is LOST's constant!

Hey Ms.misc. I've never read a Harlequin romance novel. And I bet I know as much science and sci-fi drivel as anyone that watches the show. I'm just saying that without the romance, viewership would plummet. TPTB obviously get that. And how much of the show does it really encompass? Not that much.
I'd bet that most of the negative commenters are actually Skate-Jate fans that will gripe about the triangle only when their pairing doesn't get any action.
If you think the triangle has lost it's steam, go over to Youtube and check out the hits for Skate/Jate videos. They number in the millions! Yes, the show would be good without it and some of us would still watch, but don't kid yourself -- at the end of the day, it's still just a television show.
I watch LOST for the sole reason it was created by JJ, imho, for a story of many people who survived a plane crash and how they deal with this freaky ass island; how it changes them, and how they use those changes once they leave the island. The relationships are a bonus and the Skater/Jater crap wouldn't actually be that bad if it weren't so overcooked but the fact remains is that it is. Case in point, you commented on how most non internet fans watch for the triangle (how in the hell did you get that info btw, you must be exhausted from all that interviewing!)....that being said, if the triangle were the intregal part of the story then it's most dedicated fans, i.e. those that troll the net for every bit of info they can find, wouldn't be complaining so much about it.

I did not say that most non-internet fans watch for the romance. I said it draws viewers back when they've missed an episode or two and are lost in the plot. IMHO the reason viewership has dropped off is because if you miss a few shows (and you're not an obsessed fan that scours the internet for plot details)it's not so easy to catch up. I think the romance gives the casual viewer a reason to come back.
And, by the way, many internet users are clearly obsessed with the triangle. As I mentioned before, there are lots of Skate/Jate videos out there (literally 100s on Youtube alone). And more keep popping up every day.

Secondly, you have yet to show me how you "know" the fans are obsessed with the triangle, the majority of them and the 100's of youtube vids are not proof. There's hundreds of youtube vids out there dedicated to Hannah Montana too, that doesn't make it great television, it makes it great tween fare. The triangle is overcooked at it's best and please explain to me how in the hell it's going to draw someone in that's missed a few episodes.
