Well yesterday I was watching ABC and noticed a new promo airing for this week's episode of LOST Season 4 Episode 11 (Cabin Fever). This is the promo where you see Captain Gault saying "Torch the Island!!"

It's only the beginning of the dangers to come.
Thursday, at 10/9 central..
Gault: Torch the island
Keamy: C'mon c'mon c'mon!

Sound isn't very good. Had to watch it a couple times to understand it.
i feel pretty confident that i heard smokey in the very last seconds of that preview. Kind of clicking sound it/he/they make when "reading" someone. anyone else?
I think that clicking sound at the end was actually the helicopter. I can't tell if it was normal or sounded in distress. HQ version needed soon!

why is michael around everytime something really bad happens :-) ?
Touched, I also thought it was Smokey, but as it happens to be the beach and everybody is smiling, is very probable is the helicopter, as Mojave said.
I also thought it sounded kind of Predator. LOL XD

Towards the end, at first it did sound similiar to Smokey, but I am pretty sure its the sound of the helicopter.
Captain Gault saying "Torch the Island!!" It reminds me of a scene from that film 'Lord Of The Flies' where those kids were running through the island with the island ablazed!!

I agree that it sounded in distress and Kate's expression seems to change as she looks at it.
We saw in previous pictures that Sayid makes it back to the Island so perhaps it's him in the helicopter.
Looks like the island has felled the hero again. That looks like a different shot of felled Jack.
I don't think the island wants to keep Jack on the island, it wants to pay him back for bringing the freighties to the island.
While Naomi found the island, they needed Jack to help them pinpoint the exact location, since they couldn't locate it. And right after the freighties came and started killing people, Jack started getting sick.
Someone already mentioned it, but in Lord of the Flies the island gets torched just before they get rescued... Not a big deal, just another reference to LOTF.

Sounds to me like Captain Gault inflection isn't giving an order to "torch the island", rather, he's asking a question that's been sneakily edited to mislead us.
I think the actual episode will reveal he's saying something like "You're going to torch the island?" or similar.

I had the exact same thought the first time I heard it. The sentence seems unnatural, like it's been clipped on either end..
Gasclown and t.l.a. are absolutely right IMO. It sounds like the cap'n is making a statement (a statement out of context) and not giving an order.
Given how that clip is edited, I'm hoping that Gault is actually warning Sayid and Des about Keamy's plans. Still pulling for Gault to be a good guy!
I think Captain Gault is a good guy too. It wud be cool if he had a connection with Claire!!
