* The island did not travel when the hatch imploded, but something did happen.
* We'll see more of Locke and Jin on the show. "Dead is a relative term," and there's still a lot of story to be told about those characters.
* Their favorite episodes are "The Constant" (Carlton) and "Exodus" (Damon). Damon adds that he really liked season four, and he admitted the show has had its "ups and downs."
* They reiterated that getting an end date for the show has really reinvigorated it in terms of giving it energy and purpose.
* We will see Rousseau's story this year, but it won't exactly be a flashback. We're done with flashbacks and flashforwards, but there will be some time-jumping excitement anyway. There will be storytelling on and off the island, and in different periods of time.
* Vincent the Dog is fine and will be in season five — and will survive until the end of the show.
* The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is central to the show, and we'll see more interesting permutations of it over the next two seasons. And Kate will see Sawyer again.
* The nameless extras in the Zodiac boat with Farraday, stranded with the island gone, may be toast, but "things are looking up" for Farraday himself.
* Speaking of Daniel, he has a little notebook that tells him stuff that's happened, and stuff that will happen soon, and it's going to figure prominently in season five.
* Richard Alpert is "quite old," thanks to the island's mystical properties, and we'll see more of his history this year. We'll also see him barefoot in "the near future, pun intended," so we'll find out how many toes he has.

On Saturday at the San Diego Comic-Con, a huge crowd of Lost fans was treated to a Q&A session with the famous team of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, several knick-knacks, a few pieces of scoop and one big surprise.
To kick things off, "Darlton" handed out specific gifts to each person who asked a question. The best exchange: An uncanny Hurley look-a-like was awarded a Dharma bottle of ranch dressing.
Later, after someone posed a question about the Jack/Kate/Sawyer love triangle, the exec producers began bickering about how the action figure they were about to gift the fan didn't really look like Matthew Fox. Cue the surprise entrance of... Matthew Fox! The Losties went nuts because not five minutes earlier Darlton said the panel was only going to involve the two of them (if only because the cast is so hard to track down before they start shooting in Hawaii).
The main draw for any Lost diehard, of course, is the vague promise of scoop. As far as new intel goes, it was typically scarce. The execs revealed that Jin (who last was seen on the exploding freighter) and Locke (reclined in a coffin under the purview of FutureJack as the season finale faded to black) each would be back in some capacity, and that "dead is a relative term" on this show. Also, animal lovers may be pleased to know that Vincent is not only alive and well, but will make it to the end of the series!
To wrap things up, a fan came out on stage with a video camera screaming that he had "exclusive video from the Dharma booth." It was shot Blair Witch-style, and was clearly a planned part of the panel, yet the footage still was hilarious. As the tape unspoiled, the scientist from the Dharma orientation films hinted that the island is 30 years behind. (The hatch music from the '70s now makes a bit more sense.) He begged anyone watching to reconstitute the Dharma Initiative, because all of the original doctors are dead. Say what?!

Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse weren't expected to reveal much of anything about the upcoming season at their Comic-Con panel Saturday; production on the drama won't begin for another three weeks in Hawaii and the writers are typically loathe to give spoilers away, anyway. Still, the duo didn't disappoint. They immediately took questions from the audience and gave Lost memorabilia to anyone who made it up to the microphone. Besides handing out nifty prizes like an autographed life jacket and a T-shirt that read, "I asked a question about Richard Alpert and all I got was this lousy T-shirt," the producers did offer up a few tidbits about the coming year. Jin and Locke will appear in one form or another, Rousseau's story will finally be told, and Walt's dog Vincent will stage a comeback (some fan, in fact, actually inquired about the dog's status before asking about any human characters). Oh, and Lindelof insisted that the Island did not move in the finale. Matthew Fox (pictured) showed up, too, mostly to glad-hand a fan and smile pretty for the room.
The panel then took an odd turn when a pudgy, red-faced "recruit" from the Dharma Initiative bounded on stage to report that he just captured secret video from Dharma's Comic-Con booth. It featured Lost character Dr. Marvin Candle admitting to the camera that his real name was Chang, he was a professor from Ann Arbor, Mich., and that he was about to fall victim to a "violent purge" that he's "powerless to escape" (translation: he's dead now, folks). Candle's purpose for the video? He wanted to say his research on the Island was valid so the "Dharma Initiative should be reconstituted."

So Mr. Chang basically knew that the Dharma Initiative were going to be annihilated (a la Purge) and hoped that someday the DI would come back in some form or another.
Cool beans, but doesn't reveal much. I feel this season is going to be centering heavily on this "new" DI and we'll probably be finding out about how the original DI became "purged".
It seems like Marvin Candle doesn't really know about the purge until Daniel tells him. Daniel went back to the past to get proof from Candle that their work at the DI was valid so that in the future (current time) there would be an effort to continue the research.
Interesting stuff. If Richard Alpert, or any other character on the show has any more or less than five toes I'm going to stop watching completely and just not care where it goes.
Where'd the new comment box go?
MATTHEW FOX WAS THERE???
Omfg. :D
Okay fangirl moment over.
Wow this is fascinating! Of course we could have hopes for some more answers but I like the intrigue! And the idea of Rousseau's story being told but not through flashes? Hmm. I might be way off here, but could it be some kind of temporal fold so the island time is completely messed up - death is a relative term and all, what if Sawyer and Juliet are walking along the beach and encounter a pregnant Rousseau or something? Bringing back the idea that Adam and Eve could be current characters... that would be crazy!
I have the feeling that Darlton already know Vincent will play a part in the series finale (a huge one?, closing the loop considering the first minutes of LOST?).

@nathan
No you won't.
@taller ghost-walt
No.
haha, maybe Vincent is important for Lost, this is good spoiler:)
yes, Damon, Exodus is beautiful episode but it was all episodes of Lost in season 1:)) I love season 1,and I´m afraid, that others season will be not already as season 1:((
This confirms what I have thought Is next season will be cut between the present and the timeframe the Island was moved to.I had thought the Island was moved to the time Ben was when he showed up In the flashfoward In the Shape of Things to Come but these comments have me thinking the Island Is In the past. This allowes them to do Roserau's story and not be a flashback and may allow for more exploration of the DI and what happened to Annie and why Ben took part In the Purge. And perhapes Locke got off the Island by having to move It again. And I bet you that Jin did get Into the water. The only other role he could play Is appearing to Sun like Christin has to Jack.
Jin isn't interesting enough to play a part in the story as an apparition or an undead being. If he is going to remain on the show, let him live.
We will see Rousseau's story this year, but it won't exactly be a flashback.
My guess is someone or some number of people end up in that time period and we get her story from their perspective. That wouldn't exactly be a flashback and could well be the new and exciting method of storytelling that Darlton have referred to.
Vincent the Dog is fine
Safest character on the show.
The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is central to the show
If not in the best interests of the characters in question :/
Things are looking up for Faraday
Awesome news. I had little doubt but it's nice to have confirmation.
He has a little notebook that tells him stuff that's happened, and stuff that will happen soon
Daniel has knowledge of past and future, and island-related knowledge at that. All recorded in his notebook. A substitute for his fried mind ;) Did he know the potential effects the Orchid could have or did he know exactly what was going to happen when he tried to get across the direness of the circumstance to Charlotte and Miles?
these two quotes i found QUITE interesting
"he has a little notebook that tells him stuff that's happened, and stuff that will happen soon, and it's going to figure prominently in season five"
holy shit. faraday has time travelled to the island before, or "flashed" like desmond maybe, but i guess when that happens you have a hard time remembering stuff so he writes it all down! i kinda already thought that though, faradays gonna get even more awesome!
"As the tape unspoiled, the scientist from the Dharma orientation films hinted that the island is 30 years behind. (The hatch music from the '70s now makes a bit more sense.)
that 70s island?
play pink floyd on the show dammit!
this is all very cool stuff, the next season is seeming more and more promising with every new spoiler!
Reggin, what do you mean "No?"
Care to explain to me why you think that I'm wrong? I think that it makes good sense considering the fact that Faraday time travels.
Cool stuff! :D
* "The island did not travel when the hatch imploded, but something did happen"
What could it be? Maybe it changed it's location a little, or some kind of energy was finally liberated... the only thing we know is that Desmond was heavily radiated.
* "We'll see more of Locke and Jin on the show. "Dead is a relative term," and there's still a lot of story to be told about those characters."
Well, I don't think dying in Locke's case means anything and well, if you're important (a.k.a. the writers need you), to be "death" doesn't mean a thing on LOST.
* "Vincent the Dog is fine and will be in season five — and will survive until the end of the show."
This is the best of the best! YAY! Vincent rocks! I would love to see him taking us on "The Island's Mystic Tour" ;D
* "The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is central to the show, and we'll see more interesting permutations of it over the next two seasons. And Kate will see Sawyer again."
Hope something really interesting comes out of this, because the only thing the triangle has done is damaging those characters. I wish Sawyer could be out of it :/
* "The nameless extras in the Zodiac boat with Farraday, stranded with the island gone, may be toast, but "things are looking up" for Farraday himself."
Well, seems like they're finally done with the redshirts.
* "Speaking of Daniel, he has a little notebook that tells him stuff that's happened, and stuff that will happen soon, and it's going to figure prominently in season five."
I think all of the "Abaddon Team" will bring very interesting stuff for the next seasons... I can't wait! :D
* "Richard Alpert is "quite old," thanks to the island's mystical properties, and we'll see more of his history this year. We'll also see him barefoot in "the near future, pun intended," so we'll find out how many toes he has."
Awesome! :D
Actually, there are people with 6 fingers. How do we know that people from ancient times didn't have 4 toes?
"Vincent the Dog is fine and will be in season five — and will survive until the end of the show."
============
You know, at the rate of everyone being killed off, wouldn't it be funny if the only living thing surviving at the end of the show is a dog?
That'd be hilarious. Unlikely, I admit, but hilarious.
wow cool news happy that vincent survives cause i think he will play a big part in the last few episodes of the series i am 95 percent sure jin is alive i mean he survived the crash an the raft explosion so its very unlikley hes dead and thank god we see more farraday he is one of the most interesting peole on the show
I have four toes on my right foot
Kinda have to say that Mama Cass was not music of the 70's; as dharmabeer said, bring on Pink Floyd, Yes, Peter Frampton, and the beginning of BRUCE if we're gonna talk music of the 70's; just sayin :)
Regarding the island not moving in the finale...there is a conflict in the answer between the EW article and the I09 article...the I09 article seems to be the correct one. The questions posed to the panel was "Did the island move during the purple sky incident?" The purple sky incident was The Swan implosion...the answer was "no, but something happened". Seems EW misunderstood the question here, the sky did NOT turn purple during the finale, and the question was not referring to the island moving in the finale...we all know the island moved in the finale; isn't that what we the show worked up to for uhhh, how many weeks in season 4?
We pretty much knew that the purple sky incident of The Swan implosion caused the island to be visible, and that the "something happened" comment most likely had to do with the "electro magnetism...geologically unique". I thought it had been established that by Desmond turning the failsafe, the implosion contained the electro magnetism and stopped it from being released.
Daniels notebook: I watched him carefully tie up that notebook on his last trip off the island, even later went back and double checked to make sure he had it, this I knew was going to come into play in the future. I'm concerned about Daniel with all this time travelling without his Constant; Desmond, where are you?
Glad to hear that Vincent will be with us, but he/she was on island when it moved and I didn't think they'd kill a dog :) however I wonder if these questions are scripted. Not one question about Desmond (we have no knowledge of HIC's status on the show, nor did HE last he heard) or Penny. Will we see these people this season?
I think the Richard being seen barefoot was kinda tongue in cheek. Richard and the "others" always move around the island barefoot. If he has anything different than 5 toes on each foot i'll be very surprised. And..I still think Jin is, YES, alive. No FB or FW's, we'll basically see everyone in "alive" form, won't we, including "alive" Rousseau at some point in her life, no?
I'm picturing the return of Lost being on island, but in a year somewhere way in the past; first shot would be of Richard...then we really wouldn't know WHEN we are.
I have four toes on my right foot
I have four toes on both feet ;)
Oh I have the most glorious theory based on that new video.
I submit that Daniel is the voice behind the camera, therefore he is ageless like Richard and he was at one time part of the Dharma initiative. While on the island he had a family most notably a baby girl named Charlotte!
