excellent ! ! thanks for this dark!
My pleasure. I would have posted this earlier but I accidentally deleted the email from my contact :)
Its interesting, all these new characters. For the past few seasons, its been pretty clear why there would be a new cast- whether it was the tailies, others, or freighters. I wonder what all these new people are for?
The word "alternative", and its post-punk connotations, probably messes this theory up, but given the way casting isn't always *exactly* what it seems... maybe Darlene was a DHARMA "Clerk" rank back in the early 1970s, and the band is... Geronimo Jackson ?
i think it can only mean two things... dharma or the black rock. It seems both these stories are going to become more prominant throughout the next season.
They'll have to at least give us more information on them both, because it would be bad writing to keep them till season 6 as the stories would be rushed.
Also, since alot of the characters are off island i can imagine we're going to see alot of new people brought in that way also.
I wouldnt be surprised if we saw the dharma initiative/hanso foundation being featured off island too. Perhaps providing the oceanic 6 the way back to the island.
Great idea re: Geronimo Jackson Greg!
I am fairly certain these are dharma people.
ausiello says this is for episode 1....
"Someone alert the fire marshal, 'cause I think Lost's fifth season premiere is rapidly approaching capacity. Team Darlton is adding two more guest stars to 5.01. First there's Darlene, a bored clerk who hates her lame-ass job and looks for any burst of excitement to get through her day. She'll be joined by Jill, a highly confident and tough-as-nails butcher. What's up, Doc Jensen? "Dude, Darlene sounds like 'Dharma Initiative recruit circa hippie-era seventies' to me. And Jill could be the lunch counter lady that serves the good-for-you organic slop in the Dharma mess hall." Um, no offense Doc, but that much was obvious."
Thanks Ackerman. My source is sure this is the casting side that went out for 5.02. I'll try to find out more.
Obviously, they sometimes overlap two episodes (not as often as we think, though), but I doubt casting would be going out for 5x01 characters at this late point. Ausiello messed that detail up I think.
Oh and thanks for the thumbs up, Dark !
I'm always looking out for the Geronimo Jackson back story... we're DEFINITELY going to get it. There are just way too many seeds planted for it not to come up, and I think, be very important.
"She's giving me excitations..."
Charlie's dad was a butcher....wonder if he had any connection to Geronimo Jackson back in the day...
I want to see Liam Pace in the future.
This IS definitely for 5.02 because the parts are listed for 8/28 - 9/12. Plus the original casting call specifies 5.02... unfortunately NOT the title though. :(
For some reason the band girl just reminds me of the girl Hurley liked in one of his flashbacks...I can't remember her name but he was definitely hanging out in some alternative music store...maybe we find out the connection to Libby...
I am once again feeling the pain of having not paid attention to the spelling of my Google account name now that it is looking like Geronimo Jackson may come into play this season. Why was I in such a hurry. No one is going to know that J.JacksonGroupie should have been G.JacksonGroupie and will have no idea what it means.
Holy Charlie Pace references!
Remember Claire went through an alternative phase too.

Holy Charlie Pace references!
haha yes, this is what i speculated on my site...could it be...!?
nah...
*wonders*
OMG what a boring season again...I'm loosing my interest at all :(
The object of Hurley's desire was Starla, the blonde man on G Jackson's album cover looks like Charlie, their album's name is to die for...
I'm fit to bust with excitement for whatever comes our way but will pass the time with a little American history study. In checking out 'Magna Carta' I've neglected to do my homework on the Jackson element of the band.
I'm down with Geronimo.

What the hell are you talking about?? Kinda quick to judge when you have no information or even know what your talking about. Oh well maybe you're joking
ummmm Hippie era 70's??? That was a joke right? We weren't hippies in the 70's, the hippie generation was the 60's. Wow wow wow. You're all killin me here.
