Hey All,
Two new LOST Season 5 Promos have been released by ABC. The first one has a couple of new scenes, one with Desmond telling Penny everyone on that island is in danger and then Alpert telling Locke that the only way to save the island is to get your people back here.
The second promo has more scenes from Season 4 and is mainly for the romance fans and has The Fray song.

im just throwing this out there but has anyone noticed that the last couple times we've seen penny shes been kind of... ugly?
idk she jus looks ugly or older or sumthin...

She's definitely not ugly, but bangs aren't a flattering choice for her.
Maybe Desmond is having flashes about what's going on on the Island... and Penny certainly doesn't look thrilled about (him or them) going back there...

Maybe I'm being really stupid but it hadn't really occured to me that Locke might not be on the island for too many episodes this season. If things start to go wrong v quickly and Alpert tells Locke to bring the O6 back?
That would be interesting but I really wanted to see him as the leader of The Others. oH AND i GUESS THIS CONFIRMS dESMOND HAS TO GO BACK AS WELL. oops I pressed caps.

Has anyone mentioned Smoky's explosive appearance toward the end of the preview? I'd like to know who he;s attacking -- to me, it looks like Locke.
Hurley saying "people are trying to kill us" just doesn't sound right to me.
@ wophy_85 - I think even when Locke starts visiting each of the O6 (and Walt), it'll only be for a short time to try and convince them. His alias could mean he comes to the mainland for quite awhile, or he simply uses it when he comes. But him being in a wheelchair on the mainland shows how he still can't walk on the mainland.

I read a theory about this in a comment a few spoilers ago, that the O-6 are the "constants" of the island now. That would fit why they have to go back, I mean it fits on my mind as a reason, but surely I need an explanation from Richard.
Oh, maybe he explains! Remember the interview with Damon and Carlton (the one with Carlton wears Indiana Jones costume), and there was a quote from Nestor Carbonell as he was saying "Richard begins to tell the secrets of the island to John, and there is a phenomenal twist." I wonder this very much!

My guess is the island itself has become unfixed/unstable in time, and the O6 are its constant. Without them the island will continue to exist in multiple dimensions/timelines simultaneously (which is causing all kinds of problems.)
You would think that Ben would have known this would happen and would not have allowed them to leave.

On the second promo, well, despite being a Skater, what's useful in it? Nothing new at all... and pimping the love triangle or one couple more that the other, at this point, after four seasons, it's only boring.
I think this woman that Kate is visiting could be, besides Sun an Cass, her mother..... maybe she will leave Aron with her mother, so she can try to go back without take him but i don´t think ben will let this happen as everyone has to go back...
And of curse i love the skate promo... i am so excited, i can´t wait to see then gettin together again

I think before Richard told John to get the people back to the island he told John some things about the island. John has that telltale face that he gets everytime he learns something new.

If you pause the video at the moment when smokey attacks, you can see it's clearly not john locke. whoever it is has black hair. jin?

Smokey doesn't attack to anybody - it doesn't even show up! It's the smoke of the bombs that explode. But if it really is Smokey, then YAYY! :D
i realllly wish they'd stop using that godawful song in the season five promos! i get all excited to see new footage and then my ears die :(

Judging on other spoilers, such as the episode titles..I guess the episode "Life & Death of Jeremy Bentham" will be like "Meet Kevin Johnson"..in wich we will see John/Jeremy approaching the O6 to convince them to go back to the island.
Kinda off topic, but does anyone think Richard could turn out to be the villain in the show? The way he stands out of the spotlight yet still manipulates those in charge (Locke, Ben, etc) comes off as suspicious to me.
Wouldn't it be a surprise if it turns out Richard is a traitor, secretly helping Widmore? If Mittelos and Widmore have connections, that certainly might be.
I'm not sure about villain, but he may well be a fickle b... well, you know ;)
The first promo was aweome. Des and penny, and richard and locke were cool new scenes.

Richard as villain could work. Nestor Carbonell can do sinister a whole lot better than Alan Dale, imo.
I'm not too happy with the idea of Widmore being the overall villain. When all's said and done, I can't imagine getting to the end of S6 and thinking of him in that role. At best, he's Ben's equal - there must be a 'bad guy' higher up. I would prefer Jacob as the Big Bad, though.
Jonny, I think Penny looks ugly because the writers are trying to give her a more natural glowing look with slightly chubbier cheeks, as if she was pregnant or something.
Scar, looks like Miles is getting attacked by smokey. Another promo video shows this a little better.
Eric, I don't think Locke being in a wheelchair is necessarily because he left the island. There were other spoilers that talk about Locke getting in a car crash when he gets back to the mainland.
Good promos either way. Only 8 more weeks to go!
Now me may be almost sure this Miles thing is not a Smokey :)
Wake up people: THAT IS NOT SMOKE MONSTER!!!!!. in the fran promo u can clearly see that one of that guys standing on some kind of a wire (A TRAP F SOME SORT) and thgen it blows up.

I have to agree they did a number on Penny's hair. Also she looks to me a bit bronze if you ask me. IDK just have to agree with what you said.
Jack has a new obsession! Going back to save everyone after he hasn't spared a thought to them for years.
Sayid and Sun are the only Oceanic 6 I care about. I hope they get more screen time than the usual suspects

About the end of the promo... guess we see how montand lost his arm... maibe. I'm pretty sure the two men we see are part of Rousseau's scientist team. And that it is the same scene as the other promo with Miles, but then from another perspective.
hmmm good theory about montands arm, i have a feeling that we're gonna see a crossover of timelines from the losties, rousseau's team, the dharma initiative, the black rock crew and the hostiles, plus the others as they are now. Tho now that i type that all out that's a heck of alot of people... :S
I think Ben will end up being the big bad guy in the series. I think he's manipulating everyone to get what he wants. I mean...he hasn't really done anything that could be considered "good." I honestly think he moved the island so he wouldn't have to deal with the "very bad things" that happened after it was moved. I also think he was lying about never being able to go back to the island just to make it look like he made some huge sacrifice by moving it. God I love Benjamin Linus...I really hope he does something heroic and unselfish and proves me wrong but I have a sinking feeling he's the evil mastermind behind...well...everything.

I'd LOVE that. I really want to find out about the early DHARMA Initiative, with the DeGroots, the AH/MDG incident, the people that have been on the Island for a while etc.
It's nice to see Hugo out of that damn bathrobe, but he cracks me up as a Sayid sidekick.
