OMG! Jack flashback?
O...M...G!!!!!
Christian and Jack!!!!!
Who's arm is that handing Jack an Apollo bar?
Could it be...Satan? O.o
No doubt Jacob will also be paying grown up Jack a visit then...
interesting...
awesome! thx dark
And Jin is indeedly appears in this episode (he wasn't listed on the press release).
I wonder who is that guy under the knife. Maybe Jacob. :)
and there's Jin in one of the pictures for all you worried about no Jin
sawyer is at the beach camp??
rose and bernard maybe?
Ok so a lot of cool flashbacks, a lot of '77 incident-related events, ok ok... but I want a full load sh!t of Ben&Locke dammit! I really hope they will have more than two or three scenes.
Mysterious man at vending machine drops his candy bar. Jack fixes the situation by handing it back to him. In that moment, a connection is made. Everyone wonders who mysterious man is ;)
Yay, Jack flashback. Funny how Jack suddenly has long hair in the past.
That's shirt that Juliet is wearing is quite baggy in the front in the fourth picture.
And Hurley in prison!
is that like a guard tower or something behind Hurley? and he's in a different shirt. Flashback? Flashforward? Real time?
Very interesting.
hmmm yeahhhh i wonder who's handing Jack the appollo bar :) haha
that's awesome
I knew it would come back to that scene in "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues":
"Christian's drinking problem eventually crossed over into his professional life, with profound ramifications. He operated on a woman named Beth while impaired, inadvertently causing her death. Christian's surgery team all signed off on the fact that there was nothing Christian could do to save the patient's life, except for Jack. Jack insisted that the whole truth should be told, but Christian pleaded that he not mention alcohol because it would cause him to lose his medical license. Jack wasn't persuaded until Christian tried to reconnect with his son. Christian apologized for being so hard during Jack's childhood and explained that medicine was his life. Jack agreed to sign, but later, when he learned that the patient was pregnant, he revised his statement, saying that his father was responsible for the death of the woman and her unborn child. After this, Christian lost his medical license and became estranged from Jack."
After this event Jack LOST faith and now we are going back to see exactly how these ramifications influenced possibly everything that happen. If only he had the chance to go back and start again.
I think the Jack-scene might be a hallucination, I mean they didn't try to make him look younger so or, they go back to a future where Christian is still alive or somethign even completely different.
And maybe we finally get a flashback to the decking accident that caused Hurley to end up in the mental institution, probably really unlikely but that's what that pic made me think of.
I think I know who is giving Jack that chocolate bar... I think it may be Man#1 ;)
Jacob wont use the vending meachine due to his disdain for technology, Jack does it instead, LOST
I wonder if the patient is Locke? ;)
THIS IS AWESOME. !
now present or past or jack hallucinating. GAHHHH.
Lost + Working Mind , don't go together.
Well I guess Jacob's going to visit Jack as well. Or perhaps Man 2! Either way I'm glad it should dissuade the notion that Jack's not important because he gets no visit. Does Miles get a "Visit"? Hurley is probably just in state lock up not Prison because of the murders "he" committed before coming back to the Island. Although it looks like Prison and there is the prison guard in the press release. Hummm I'll see I guess. I can't wait for the next 3 Wednesdays!
I fear we already know the big twist of the finale.Throughout the episode we will see a mysterious man encountering many of the characters and at the very end its revealed he is Jacob..Its possible that Ben gave the list of the survivors to Jacob and he then used time travel(he seems stuck in some kind of a way without a physical form and held by Others in the cabin using the ash circle)to meet Losties and judge them if they are worthy of joining the Others, thus the infamous Jacobs List is born.If this is true I wonder why Jack didnt pass his test when he handed him the Apollo bar.Probably just did an annoyed Jackface after that and ****** it up as he tends to do.
That Hurley shot must be while he was incarcerated after he gives himself up in "The Lie". I guess we'll have to wait til then to find out why he was on 316 and what's in the guitar case...
I so hope it's Jack-centric...his last centric episode is the best in S5 so far!
Gah!! Where are the pics of Locke, Ben, Sun, and Richard?
Maybe Jacob hates technology because he got his hand stuck in the vending machine trying to get that Apollo candy bar. Curse you vending machines!
Maybe it IS a Jack flashback. Jack and Christian are operating on Jacob, and Christian saves him, hence - Jacob owes Christian his life.
And what do you know, right after his death, Christian appears on the island.
It won't be Jack-centric. Almost every character gets a flashback
"but I want a full load sh!t of Ben&Locke dammit!"
Yeah dammmit! ^ ^
Give me a B
Give me a E
Give me a N
B E N, BEN!
Thank you Dark! with you it's Xmas every day!
Jack and Christian in the same OR? Is this the "how many drinks did you have at lunch, Dad?" scene? I would assume that would be the most life changing moment in JACK's life... So, as with all the others, it would seem that would be the most accurate.
Jack's patient is probably Sarah. Jack didn't think he repaired her spine and then she could suddenly walk. Jacob healed her.
That incident would also connect Shannon and Boone by extension because Jack decided to save Sarah and let Shannon's father die. And Boone's mother was married to Shannon's father.
Those pictures of Juliet and possibly the first one of Miles look like they're in the The Swan construction site. Look at the dirt behind.
The question which is tinterring me is this: Will Jacob just says hello or will he tries to change something?
I dont know why, but I have a feeling that the hand with Apollo bar belongs to...Jacob.
And I also have a feeling that all scenes with him gonna be lame, Jacob was here, Jacob was there, He was everywhere...like cockroaches and rats.
I hope the finale is not going to be too much spiritual, Christian, Jacob, Living-dead John...
All these pictures of Jack in hospital scrubs have got me all hot and bothered. What does it say for my maturity level if seeing the candy bar immediately made me think Jack was getting a golden ticket?
I think he makes a 'connection' with people. Even if it's via a candy bar. In that moment, something supernatural could have transpired - such as Jack being granted healing powers etc.
Jack & Christian...Happy Days!!
The guy is wearing a suit,It might be Richard.Or maybe Jacob since Jack performed a miracle the day he saved Sarah and Jacob is the only one who can do such things.
The patient can't be Sarah since Jack's hair isn't all weird...
Maybe it's Man #2 aka Samuel. Maybe some were approached by Jacob and some Samuel.
Could be the Sarah surgery, or the day he ripped the girls whatever sack open (story from the first episode that he told Kate)
Jack and Christian in the same OR? Is this the "how many drinks did you have at lunch, Dad?" scene? I would assume that would be the most life changing moment in JACK's life... So, as with all the others, it would seem that would be the most accurate. It's probably Jack's first solo procedure, the one he told Kate about where he screws up and only allows himself 5 seconds to freak out.
good call katie-i would LOVE this
47: I fear we already know the big twist of the finale.Throughout the episode we will see a mysterious man encountering many of the characters and at the very end its revealed he is Jacob.Yeah, I have been worrying about this too.
Again, I have to point to the fact that Jack isn't wearing that weird wig thing that he wore back in MoS,MoF. That is why it can't be the Sarah surgery or the "1-2-3-4-5" surgery. It has to be rather recent...
Jack looks too old in those pics (and for that matter Cristian), so it can't be a flashback... unless the makeup guys weren't on set that day. An alternate timeline? But wasn't that theory practically rebunked in ep. 11, you ask? Maybe Daniel is going to reformulate his own theories in the next episode (afterall the next episode is titled The Variable)and the timeline can indeed be changed.
"I fear we already know the big twist of the finale"
Spoilers will do that -
But, after two of these special 'flashbacks' I would think that even a pedestrian Lost viewer would have it figured out
The twist has to set up the next season - i dont see season 6 in Man#1 flashbacks
That is why it can't be the Sarah surgery or the "1-2-3-4-5" surgery. It has to be rather recent...We don't know what Jack looked like during the 1-2-3-4-5 surgery, but he would've been younger than during the Sarah surgery so his hair at that length would be fine and he looks much younger than scruffy, buzz cut island Jack looked for the first 3 seasons IMO.
I think that Man number one will not turn out to be Jacob...that will be twist. And Jack as far as I can remember looked like this when he told the truth regarding his father. Short hair. So this is probably that moment in his life. It cannot be a new timeline in the end of the season or maybe that is a twist??? Whats up with sawyer? He is on the beech camp????

Yes, we do. There was a whole FB dedicated to it in S2, if I'm not mistaken.
I think timing is irrelevant here.It doesn't matter what they used to look like.Maybe things have changed i don't know.
And don't forget Michael Emerson playing a 20year old with a weird hairdo. It happened before. It can happen again.
What if Jacob isn't visiting Jack (candy bar or not) but is visiting Christian to set him up for his upcoming death & resurrection.
It may seem obvious to us that Man#1 is in fact Jacob, but its not like the TNPLH twist was something shocking, everyone with who I watch Lost (you could definitely call them casual) figured it out it was Locke in the coffin before it was shown and they were more like "shocked about not being shocked",they expected someone completely else because Locke just seemed so obvious to them.
And about setting up the next season, how exactly did Season 2 Antarctica ending set up Season 3?Anyway the last scene might be something like Jacob giving instructions to Ben with the list, mentioning the upcoming war(presumably with the Shadow of the Statue people) foreshadowing Season 6.
We don't know what Jack looked like during the 1-2-3-4-5 surgery...
Yes, we do. There was a whole FB dedicated to it in S2, if I'm not mistaken. You're mistaken. The FB in MOSMOF was about Sarah's surgery.
It's not the patient Christian killed either because Jack had a buzz cut at that time and isn't wearing the head gear.
I can never get enough Christian. I hope that we not only get a flashback Christian but Ghost Christian having a talk with Ben and Locke.
I wonder if what this episode is shows why everyone's destiny was to come to the island. (Paraphrasing Locke).

D'oh. You are absolutely right. What I wanted to say is that we know how Jack looked during Sarah's surgery and that he was younger than the Jack we see in these pictures.
I hope we actually learn something about Christian, for once. Constantly seeing him sout nothing but cryptic hints gets very dull.

What if they forgot that Jacks hair was shaved off, huh, huh?
Oh and Dark hurry and put up those spoilers for The Variable that you said you'd do on Monday after you got back from the marathon, the ones that were hidden behind the 'ARE YOU SURE' button! :}
The synopsis will be posted either Tuesday or Wednesday when we get them all.
Wicky wicky wah wah West.
I can't wait to see Jacob explode into an ethereal temporal being after being caught within the release of the dark energy caused by the incident.
I think the final scene of 'The Incident' will involve Desmond, the only one who can save them all!!
Juliet looks so dam sexy!!!!
Thanks for posting these pics!
Jack and Christian?
OMFG! FB or hallucination, Jacob or not, it's going to be mind-blowing!
*_*
That's somebody handing an APOLLO candy bar to Jack!!!!!!!!!!!
"how exactly did Season 2 Antarctica ending set up Season 3"
-Not Pennys Boat - or we knew Penny is looking for Des and that was the big conflict from eps Catch 22 to Looking Glass -- youre right though, in that this was the least effective twist to set up the next season - all others (1,3,4) were spot on
"The synopsis will be posted either Tuesday or Wednesday when we get them all."
Can you segment it into minor and major spoilers - i.e. minor spoiler "Daniel has trouble explaining the island to people, he sighs alot and attempts to use quirky analogies" --major spoiler "the last 5 min of the episode"
Jesus Christ, Jack & Christian!!!!! YAY!!!! I want this episode now.
Jack is such a cutie in his scrubs :)
I think Hurley is definitely at a prison. I don't think they have Guard towers at County lock-up. But since he is dressed in his own clothes instead of a prison jumpsuit, I think he must be visiting someone. But who? and is this the thing that convinced him to return to the Island?
The best spoilers for me! Jack and Christian together!!! OMG, amazing :thud:
ahhh tuesday bummer
Finally a Jack and Christian spoiler! Awesome! I really hope we will find out something about Jack's family backgroudn.
Why do Jack and Christian have to be in flashbacks? What if they are operating on someone in 1977, or the present?
They are soooooo operating Jacob or Jack's wife...
maybe jacks is operating on john locke (after he broke his back)- and never realised it .....
Who operated on John Locke after her fell from Cooper's window?
WTf?! ANOTHER Jack flashback?! And not to mention both Jack and Christian look exactly like they're on the Island and not like they were in previous flashbacks... sloppy job or they¡re on the Island?

============
THey'll likely be a million different flashbacks. Look at the guest list :)
Oh, and I see Jin. WTF did ABC randomly decide to not credit him?
Awesome, awesome, AWESOME! Thing is, I doubt Jacob reveals his name to any of the survivors during his visits with them. I mean, if he did, wouldn't that ring a bell when Ben mentioned the name? Of course, that's assuming Jacob actually told them something aside from just "watching" them and handing Jack a candy bar.
I might finally watch an episode this season seeing Jack and Christian together in the operating room!
Matthew Fox and the actor who play's Christian always rock in their scenes together!
So glad the boring season of Dharma and Sawyer are almost over. BO-RI-NG! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Jack and Christian together should finally stip up some excitememnt in a lackluster season.
meant to say *stir*
the surgery they doing it on is Jacob i think lol.
My first thought was that the patient being operated on was Jacob. Maybe that's why he spares Christian on the Island and has an interest in Jack.
Either that, or it's Annie. Who is the girl Jack operates on in the 1 2 3 4 5 story. IT ALL MAKES SENSE!!!! :P
"Who operated on John Locke after her fell from Cooper's window?"
Prob a ER doc in Florida - or House - or George Clooney, but not Jack
Perhaps Jacob gathers all the flashback characters (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Juliet etc) and they all make the connection together in one big scene (since they each and all cooperatively remember their Jacob encounters) - special effects then cgi's glowing light bulbs above their heads
-We get how Hurley got out of prison and who told him to get on the place.
- Apparently a Jacob visit to Jack (who now has long hair in the past, apparently). Dunno if Jacob is the one under the knife or handing the candy bar over to Jack. I suppose the latter.
Like many of us already guessed, Jack's pivotal moment is with Christian. As for the inconsistent hair, I'm not bothered because this show has always been bad with flashback wigs.
Looking forward to Christian though I hope he gives us something substantial. Fingers crossed it's the usual finale format and is multi-centric, not a Jack!back as this season has been fantastic without the Doc overkill & more of other cast members :)
Initially I thought the theatre moment shown is the count to 5 surgery we hear of in the Pilot (& it fits with Jacob visiting the losties at key moments in their lives), but Jack looks so old in these pics that I'm not sure when it's meant to be. Maybe it's the operation where Christian screwed up as other have mentioned? Perhaps Jacob says something to Jack which initially appears inconspicuous, but it plays on his mind & eats at him until he eventually tells the truth about Christian's drinking causing the patient death. Then it follows that his Dad's career is wrecked & sets them both on course to be in Australia/on the island. Similarly we may see Jacob somehow encouraging James to write the letter that fuels his desire for revenge and by a chain of events we've already seen, also leads him to flight 815.
- James looks like he's possibly at the beach camp so I'm confused as to where those other finale set pics fit into the timeline.
- I'm not usually trigger happy, but am glad to see Jules with a gun in her hands again!
- As for Hurley I would say that he looks to be in a prison, but what happened to his fetching orange jumpsuit? :D
A lot of people have said that we saw a flashback to the 1-2-3-4-5 surgery. Nope, we haven't. We saw him operate on Sarah, but there was no countdown in that episode. Also, he told Kate that the countdown happened during his FIRST solo surgery, while when he operated on Sarah he seemed to be very experienced, like he had been doing it for a long time.
I can totally buy that this is the "how many drinks did you have" surgery. Sure the hair is a little bit different, but it's not a massive one. From a buzz cut to slightly hairy isn't much of a difference. Look at Boone's ever changing flashback hair.
Does anybody remember a still from DharmaWantsYou of a surgeon? There was some debate if looked like Christian or not. From what I remember it looks a lot like the picture of Christian with the surgical mask on.
I also hope that Jacob revealing himself by name isn't the big twist.
wait...just remembered something ..remember in the flame where you had to enter 77..well is it coincidence that its the year that they are in or do u think they did this on purpose???
JIN! yay!
Ugh, Jackbacks in the finale.
I hope it's something cool, like where Sarah can't walk and everything until his tattoo was a halluncination.
does anyone think desmond will play any type of role in the finale? i know i haven't seen the two episodes leading up to it yet, but i just haven't seen any evidence. hopefully. i still think he's right behind locke as the best character of the show
Hey, dudes that's an air traffic control tower behind Hurley.
It's definitely multi-centric. There have been reports of Jacob meeting young Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, etc? This is just one of many flashbacks y'all. I'm hoping it's similar to the season one finale =)
Jack and Christian together!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!
Jack looks too old in those pics (and for that matter Cristian), so it can't be a flashback... Riiight... Coz they made a miraculous job with Ben and Charles in Dead Is Dead...
I mean with those super wigs both men looked 20 years younger!!! LMAO
Jack totally not looks TOO OLD. I mean yeah, he doesn't look like he is 20, but that doesn't mean it can't be a FB... ;)
No way, I highly doubt the final scene will show us Jacob saying "I'm Jacob". That would suck beyond sucking! I still think the final scene will be Aaron/Ji Yeon in 2030. I know it's a stretch, but even knowing about that possibility is shocking! I'd love to hear something along the lines of "Aaron, we have to go back!" followed by "Why Ji!? Why!?" And it wouldn't necessarily refer to The Island, more like time. They'd have to go back to 2007/2008 to "help". Something crazy like that.
Oh, and I really don't think Locke is the one being operated on because I'm sure both Jack and Locke would've recognized each other later down the line.
IDK why people complain about the Jackback finales they have been amazing finales so far, so if it ain't broke why fix it...and for all we know...I think it is more than just a Jack-back, we have already posted some set photos that might suggest otherwise.
:)
Season 1 All the best cowboys have daddy issues.
That is the episode when Jack was operating on a girl who died, because his father started the surgery drunk. Jack was in a hallway, same haircut, same wardrobe looking at his father talking to a grieving husband (of dead patient). We saw only end of this surgery, not the surgery itself. We never saw how Jack took over...so I bet this is the same surgery. Because they both look the same. And it is a flash back. It doesn't matter who the girl is. What matters is this moment in his life...his daddy issue. This is the moment when it all start for Jack. Not with Sarah but with Christian.

But at least they tried, you know? Sure, the wigs looked ridiculous, but in that ep they did what they could to make them look younger as they did with all the others FB.
I like the theory that we will probably going to see the 1-2-3-4-5 surgery FB but (GEEK ALERT) the way the scene is likely to pan out on screen reminds the way Green Lanterns are recruited. "Jack Shephard, you have be chosen for a reason. You are a man you can overcome great fear. Jack Shephard of Earth; do you accept this duty?" Duty in this case probably means protect the Island or maybe joining the Others... but what do I know?
IMO the twist won't be to learn that this is indeed jacob but that jacob is aaron, don't forget Claire, she disappeared for a reason!
lol, Aaron as Jacob? That would definitely be one hell of a twist!
Sawyer looks so old and tired.
Jack in scrubs! **sighs** Too cute!
Hurley is totally in front of an air-traffic control tower. That was my first thought so glad someone else has said that. I think this is the surgery where Christian is drunk. Interesting... I'm very excited for this.
PLEAAAAAAAAASE
dont say the big ending is that the man been visiting them is...
Jacob.
im sure they would have kept it more secret
i bet thats jacob jacks handing that fone to.
"dont say the big ending is that the man been visiting them is...
Jacob. im sure they would have kept it more secret"
...as in not filmed those scenes in public - normally their most secret scene is filmed away from casual observers with cameras and blogs
I would suggest anyone not wanting this to be the big reveal to not read any more spoilers - Its not about who (as in what actor) is Jacob, it is about What and Why is Jacob - thats where they can work their magic - us avid viewers will easily spot who is Jacob in the first scene he appears
"lol, Aaron as Jacob? That would definitely be one hell of a twist!"
I agree - I could deal with that b/c they would have to explain the journey from point a (toddler) to point b (island being) - fits with the whole Shephard family in the cabin
I don't see any attempt of de-aging in these photos of Jack or Christian. Definitely not Jack operating on Sarah, that "John Stamos" hair would be a dead giveaway. It it were the "counting to 5 story" that would be going way back and he looks like he look now, as does Christian. Are these called "promotional photos" for any particular reason, for e.g. is this what was released by ABC?
Well, i'm glad Kate isn't taking any of the situation too seriously lol.
Do you all think that Rose and Bernard have been on the beach all this time?
^ On the caves, maybe?
Jackback + Christian + mysterious arm - wig = AWESOME!!!
JULIET GET AWAY FROM THE FUEL BARREL
