Mmmm :D
I'd be thrilled to see EM return to Lost in whatever capacity next season. One of my biggest disappointments in the series was the death/loss of the best female character on the show imo. I wasn't surprised considering rumors of the return of the "triangle from hell" next season, but I would have loved for Juliet to have made it a little farther.
I will be following the V page at SpoilerTV, as I live in Vancouver and will try try to grab some set pictures.
That would be great thedemonhog, any photos, news that you come across would be fantastic. Thanks very much and good luck in getting some scoops :)
Not that I have the slightest clue what will happen next season on Lost, but it seems like the show would deal with Elizabeth Mitchell's character early in the season if at all since she either did or did not die in a nuclear thingie.
I suppose should could appear later in a flashback like everyone else does.
That's assuming that she's required for the entire duration of filming. It kind of looks like an ensemble show, meaning she might not be in it from week to week.
If she perhaps had a week or two off from filming, she could be flown out to Hawaii for Lost. (I'd be expecting her screentime on Lost to be comparable to that of Desmond's in last season.)
And I realize that it may sound outlandish to fly from Canada to Hawaii, but bear in mind Vancouver is towards the WEST coast of Canada. It's only 150 miles more from Vancouver to Hawaii than it is from LA to Hawaii. So on a direct flight, that'd probably amount to an extra twenty minutes in the air (if that).
I think Juliet will be presumed dead or missing at the beginning of next season and won't appear until the second half.
Yep! It does indeed point to a return for Juliet but only for the second half of the season.
By that timing, Juliet would be available for filming potentially before any episodes have aired, or very early in the season.
If they wanted (if she wasn't in a lot of scenes) they could film scenes for her earlier in the series. Not to mention that I'm sure they have negotiated to get her already to film anything they need for the first few episodes.
I guess what I'm saying is, although Juliet can't do V and be a series regular, I think they could have her in any episode they want based on this timing.

============
Yeah, I imagine.
Just like Lost, if the character doesn't appear for a couple episodes you have a month of staying at home doing nothing.
So... it's certainly possible (if they want to bring her back) that they could for a short appearance early in the season if the wanted to.
Oh, and I forgot to say that Lost won't air until late january or early february so it's also entirely possible to film out-of-order before it starts airing.
I'm so glad that my prediction came true. Although I had said that the filming would end at the end of January so this news is even better :-)
There is some speculation that they may have filmed early Season 6 scenes with Juliet during season 5.
jasonakamax - Elizabeth Mitchell is the series lead on V, so I think she's going to be pretty busy.
As to the travel from Vancouver to Hawaii, it's a six hour flight and there's a three hour time difference to account for as well.
I keep coming back to what seems obvious to me - if Lost had a story for Juliet, they would have kept EM on contract. They didn't. So I'm not expecting more than a couple of cameos.
@jasonakamax: that would not really be fair to EM, would it? its the last season of lost and even if she is as important in season 6 as she was in season 5, they still would not use her full time, and so to deny her a lead in a possible new series, just isn't fair.
as for the time difference, it works for the travel between Hawaii and VC.
anyway, here's hoping ...love juliete. pls god not triangle. even if only because sawyer has to punish himself for juliete's death,
If I'm not mistaken, most of LOST is filmed between August and January. If so, when she becomes available in January, there won't be much left for her to do for LOST which means at best she would be in only a couple of shows. Seems unlikely she would fly back and forth between August and January to film both shows.
Well, Lost has a story for Richard and they almost lost him to Cane, it doesn't mean anything.
I'm so happy with this and it does seem she will be back.
@ Inna: I'm not suggesting they deprive her of anything! Nor that she would be on Lost that much. (I compaired the size of her role in S6 to DESMOND's in season 5... I foresee a few small scenes here and there that could probably be filmed in under a week.)
And she was already flying back and forth during last season to do the V pilot, so I don't see why it would be so OMG-inconvenient and problematic to take one single week out of that 5 month shoot to do Lost.
paultxus, you are mistaken. this report suggests that she would be available for 7 episodes after V has finished its shooting. Lost will be filming into April, as it did in Season 5 and this season is longer.
Am I missing something? Elizabeth Mitchell may be finished filming V before Lost finishes filming for the year. And that means she's going to appear on Lost? Why would that be? If the writers don't have a story for her, she could be unemployed for the whole year and it wouldn't make any difference. The story is returning to its core characters next year, so Juliet having a cameo here or there seems like nothing more than an afterthought to me, hardly critical to the big picture.
Like it was said before, ABC studio boss said that the actress was going to be on both shows. The fact that "Lost" still have at least 7 episodes to shoot once she finishes V is a good indication that Juliet will be back. This secrecy about that character reminds of last year, when Jin was still on the boat when it exploded. Darlton and Cuse were as evasive about that character status afterwards. On a lot of boards, people said pratically the same thing, that Jin was dead and there was no way he could have survived. Well, we know what happened don't we.
I've always assumed that they were non committal about Juliet's death because they wanted there to be some doubt about whether it was Juliet or fauxJuliet making a cameo appearance. I'm guessing she turns up sometime in the last couple of episodes to try and distract Jack et al doing the 'right' thing.
I'm going to be in Vancouver on holiday when filming starts for the first few days, so if I should happen to see anything, I'll be snap-happy!
Thanks Jaqs55
I think Juliet will be available for the last 5 episodes of Lost if the show decides they want her and she wants to go back. 7 will depend on the start date for V because Elizabeth Mitchell will need to be a available for press and such and Hawaii isn't the idea place for that. 5 episodes is still plenty to tell a Juliet story if they want to go there. After her just being triangle fodder during season 4 and 5 I think it's more likely that she will just appeal as a ghost, vision and in flashbacks. I want Elizabeth Mitchell on screen as much as possible working with Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Sun, Ben and perhaps even Lock because she brings out the best in all the actors.
I for one think that she will not be a ghost but found alive, probably by evil Locke or Ben (gasp).I think that she'll be stuck with "the Others" again somehow.
I live in Vancouver, so I'd like to try to meet Elizabeth. :D Do you have an idea of the area yet? Or just that it's in Vancouver?
I just saw Fringe filming around my place today. :D
If we get any detailed filming locations, we'll be sure to post them over at spoilertv.
If the timeline is suppose to 'reset' to before Oceanic flight 815 takes off or just after it crashes on the island then Juliet would be still living with Ben and the Others.
If the Losties have to go through all that they have before then we wouldn't be seeing Juliet again until day 60 something/ beginning of season 3 which would of course come in the last half of season 6..
If they decide to show Juliet during 815's crashing or other key moments they could always just show the old already shot footage and reshot the new needed stuff after V finishes filming.
It definitely seems she will be available to shoot LOST.
BUT the main question remains up in the air.
Will Damon and Carlton want Juliet to be part of the last season? And alive?
According to Jack Bender. No.
I hope I'm wrong and Jules is really part of season 6. Preferably alive.
You have hit the nail right on the head Alex Baldenko. Mitchell could have the next 48 months off and it wouldn't matter if Lindelof and Cuse don't want her back in any big capacity. Darlton's interest in anything Juliet/EM is what people should be focused on/worried about. Not Mitchell's shooting schedule.
And I always see people compare the Juliet situation to the Jin situation from last year, but there was actually no mistery about Jin's/DDK's status for season 5. Kristin from Eonline reassured fans several times that he would be back alive and well. In case of Juliet we've been getting the opposite from Eonline since March and now most recently from Jack Bender. Sometimes a duck is just a duck.
The only source I really trust is Dark and his agents... LOL. I think that once the production really starts shooting at the end of august, Dark's spies will give us the goods like they did for the other seasons. If EM is seen lurking on Lost's set (which I believe she will be), then I'm sure that Dark will get the scoop before everyone else, as usual :-)
