the butterfly because in season one episode 7 was titled the moth.
could be claire centric?
My Guess is "Driveshaft", the other ones seems a little bit too stretchy.
The Butterfly.
"When Richard met Jacob" is laughable, lol.
@ Mr. Comissi - Have to agree, the ones we have seen thus far suggest a pattern
The butterfly..because of The Moth and the whole Locke speech after which he found Charlies guitar case..direct parallel to season 6 Hurley and the guitar case..;)
However I believe some other titles here will also be used but later..
Raised by an other is epic!
When Richard met Jacob (Black Rock centric :))
All the cowboys have mommy issues is also great!
I think Raised by An Other (parallel to Raised By Another) or The Butterfly (parallel to The Moth).
'the butterfly' or 'raised by an other', as they both are mirroring prehistorical episode-titles ;-)
i was thinking the butterfly more to do with the 'BUTTERFLY EFFECT'!!!! anyone seen that movie? fits it with lost's travel and time themes!!
Please let it be "When Richard met Jacob."
Of course, if it is The Butterfly it wouldn't be Charlie centric. I would guess it would be Hurley centric (since he would otherwise not get a final season centric, due to his lone season 1 centric episode being episode eighteen) or Miles centric (since him speaking with the dead could replace a dead character nicely). Or they could skip to Sawyer.
Which would mean that Sawyer is seventh, Sayid is eighth and Claire is ninth. Then I assume they will stop the pattern, because next up would be doubles for Jack and Kate and then three dead characters in a row.
Is 6x07 or 6x10 going to be a Claire-centric?
I think it's going to be "The Butterfly" -
but I do like "Raised by An Other" too!
Definitely The Butterfly. Charlie has grown and emerged from his human body cocoon and become something else and somehow passes on some advice to one of the Losties, the same way Locke helped him beat his drug addiction back in The Moth.
When Richard Met Jacob isnt THAT Bad of a title though :P. Maybe they'll use it later lol.
But I agree its probably the Butterfly.
"When Richard met Jacob" is about the funniest thing I've heard in awhile. I can just imagine a mock-umentary style interview with Richard and Jacob sitting on a stone bench under the statue. Richard talks about how he was on the Black Rock with his wife and became marooned on the island. Jacob interrupts and says, "I brought you to the island." They share a loving stare at one another. Richard goes on to say, "I never could admit I was gay until I met him. Then suddenly it all made sense and time stopped and I became ageless. Why was I fighting it?"
Then they discuss their frustrations at having to keep their relationship a secret. Jacob says it's because the Others aren't progressive enough to accept being led by a gay man. Richard is sick and tired of things being so "Brokeback Mountain". They talk about all those wonderful romantic get a ways to the cabin, before of course homophobic MIB locked himself in there with the circle of ash to prevent their love.
As an audience we come to understand another facet of the conflict of light vs dark, fate vs freewill. Jacob is liberal pro-gay rights, MIB is conservative pro-biblical morale values. And the eternal conflict continues...
Hey Keith, maybe it's the explanation for Richard's everlasting eyeliners! lol
If they follow the Season 1 pattern "The Butterfly" it's the best choice.
I will love you forever if it's a Charlie centric...following the theme of season 1 "The Moth"
The Butterfly please and thank you sir.
I voted for the Dog and hope it relates to Smokey, who is the Man in Black's pet.
I'll vote for "The Numbers" because it's time Hurley got his episode and it has been stated that the numbers will have some true importance in the final season.
Driveshaft - Charlie centric! What do I win?
Wow! None of those seem right, some would just be repetitive names, most of the others just seem kinda (Sorry) dumb, the only one that seems even plausible at the moment, is All the best Cowboys have Mommy issues, but If I was naming them, I'd have added a "Too" and called it All The Best Cowboys Have Mommy Issues Too, but really I don't think any of these are actually the one as the source has yet to reveal it to Dark either, this is just for fun!!, Thanks Dark for the fun between Spoilers!!
I have to add that I didn't see the cleverness of Raised By an "Other" before I just saw it as repetitive, but on second thought it is actually pretty Genius and has several different implications:
Jacob being "The Other" could make this an Ilana centric.
Ben being raised from the age of twelve on up by Richard could mean this is Ben centric.
This could also be the obvious and be Claire centric.
It may even be Aaron centric.
I'm sure there are more things that could be read from a title like that one, but I cannot think of any more.
Dark, I think you already know the title. And I also think, you know 6x8,6x9.... too. Because in the posts you always start like this. "Now" I can reveal... It means that you already know them. Please, just tell us. :) lol.
I think it's "The Butterfly" because of the so many implications this name has. A common topic when discussing time travel is the butterfly effect, how by the chaotic essence of the universe everything is tied, and changing one little thing in the past could change the whole perspective of the world, since it's not only that little thing you changed but the total degree of logics concerning that moment on. The Butterfly could also alude to the fact that Charlie has gone out of the cocoon and flew away. As well as playing the pair with The Moth in season 01. Maybe the centric of this episode will be Charlie/Claire/Aaron and how the changes took place in each life.
Nope, I've no idea sorry. I would guess butterfly but maybe that is too obvious
Hurley already had an episode called Numbers.
Yeah, The Butterfly is too good, it's very juxtaposed to The Moth during season 1, and it also relates to the butterfly effect of time travel. Plus, now it's starting to look like Lost will take a page from the movie The Butterfly Effect, which wasn't too bad, despite the fact that is had Ashton Kutcher.
Brent: You're right, I totally forgot about this. Guess the change would be too unrecognizable then, although the meaning does change indeed.
The same probably goes for Raised by an Other.
I love you Keith.
Dr. Linus makes some sense too. Remember the ending of The Economist..
I picked Raised by an Other and my guess is the family in LA that was supposed to adopt Aaron from Claire are 2 others... idk just a guess...
it will be "Raised by an Other"
Ilana flashback Centric
we have already had reports of Caesar returning to film, so could be for ilana flasback
and as Ilana is the daughter of an "Other" well hopefully see her younger years on the Island living with daddy in the four toed statue
@Dark When are you going to reveal it?
When my source tells me
Gravastars, I love you too.
I hope anyone reading my ridiculous first comment knows it was a lampoon of When Harry met Sally and not some gay-bashing joke. As soon as I read the choice for the title I about fell out of my chair laughing. For some reason I can buy Nestor Carbonelli and Mark Pelligrino playing two gay men. Pelligrino's scene with Hurley in the taxi comes to mind.
Ben Centric...Nice One!
Dr. Linus?!!!
Interesting....
wow, that's interesting. I hope for a Ben centric.
Wow, very interesting. They're breaking the season-1-centric-mirroring if it is a Ben centric.
Dr Linus Huh? OK now I'm confused, But it is awesome to know instead of Charlie we get to get a Ben Centric, this will probably be an iconic episode. This leads me to believe that when time comes for another dead lostie centric episode then we will get Richard, and/or Ilana, Does that seem plausible now?
And also maybe like someone else thought a Hurley one too.
Ben Centric! Fantastic news!
I think they break the mold from season 1 here because the timelines converge in the jin/sun ep "sundown"? Maybe when the alt timeline ends the mirroring of season 1 will end. I'd be down for that.
Andy whose centric??? Ben??? plssss
Oh come on.
I wanted a Charlie centric >:[
"Dr Linus" takes me back to the final scene of The Economist.
In the past Ben Centric reveal very little but create more questions, lets hope this time the reveal a lot and create less questions!!
Ben is probably a doctor in the alternate timeline. I don't like the idea though, the characters we know being COMPLETELY different in the alternate timeline.
WHAT??!!? "Dr. Linus" ????
lies, LIES!!!!
Obviously they weren't going to have a Charlie episode, so they had to replace it with someone very important from the later three seasons, aka Ben or Desmond. I wonder, is there no period after the Dr?
Jeff - What happened at the end of the Economist? I need someone to refresh me on that one.
He stitches Sayid's gun shot wound up..Right?
Maybe he isn't an MD but a PHD thus him being a "Scholar of European history" as another spoiler suggested we get to see!!
"Dr Linus" suggests to me that Ben has a doctorate in history, as suggested by an earlier spoiler. This would tie in with him being a teacher or lecturer.
Ben-centric sounds good. Some say this breaks the pattern. I guess they forgot that Charlie died 2 seasons ago and Ben wasn't there in the 1st season. Obviously Ben is filling in for Charlie. The pattern holds. Sawyer should be next with 6.08 (1.08 was Confidence Man).
Seems like we'll be getting an ALT. Ben story instead of the rest of his backstory with Annie, Widmore and Dharma, unless they incorporate them somehow (which would be splendid)!
Dr. Linus? Boo-urns!
manwithnoname: Someone suggested on my blog that we may see Keamy kill Alex off the Island, as well.
Next episode title Guess # 1:
All the best Cowboys have "Baby-Mamma" Issues Sawyer centric.
Maybe Dr. Linus is veterinarian Ben and we'll finally learn what's up with him versus The Economist. Ooo -- maybe The Economist is Alt-Ben....
Okay, I just hurt my head.
Guess #2:
Son of a... Sawyer centric
in the economist, ben is a veterinary so he is a doctor
hen gonna be Dr.Linus, Like Dr.Phil is a doctor!!
PHD not MD or VMD DMD
He's not "Hen"
Guess # 3
All the Best Cowboys have Confidence issues!
Dark
Thank you for the episode title, of course. I enjoy knowing the titles beforehand, even if it's 3-3 months before hand.
I must say, the titles you gave as other options were better than Dr. Linus! I thought that itself was a made up name because it wasn't so clever, but I loved most of your other ones.
LOL. Yep I loved the When Richard Met Jacob one :)
I hate to get off topic here, but does anyone expect a scene or episode in which Jack treats Locke as a patient in the ALT universe?
Seems too coincidental that Jack and Locke wouldn't cross paths in the Alt universe and Locke's paralysis is a the obvious connection.
@ Alex
I mentioned the same possiblity when the spoiler came out that they would cross paths in the AU. Could it be that Jack will remove a tumour from Ben's spine in the AU as well?
So, is episode 6 a Sun centric or Sayid centric?
Maybe Ben isn't the doctor. Maybe Alex or Ben has a wife. Juliet?
It would be amusing if Alt-Ben is a psychiatrist at the mental institute. I could envision an interesting maniupulative therapy session with Hurley and possibly Libby there.

Juliet with Ben???? Heresy I say. Never!!!!!
Heh, interesting. Didn't think of the possibility that it could also refer to someone related to Ben who has a doctorate of some sort.
That's crazy though, Dr. Linus was way too obvious a choice, IMO, since I had read the spoilers about him and/or Locke being a teacher or professor or such. Then I realized it was only obvious BECAUSE of the spoilers, and I'm sure it will not seem silly at all as Season 6 unfolds next year.
And personally, I know they said a "season 1 feel," but I don't think they meant in a literal, centric-order fashion. I would not put too much weight, if ANY, on the resemblance of the order of episode centrics between Season 6 and 1. So this title doesn't break any sort of pattern because, well, there is no pattern.
i cant believe people still dont realise that Ben in the alt reality is a school science teacher with a PHD or whatever.
and after John gets fired by Randy, he becomes a Substitute teacher at the same school!
Maybe Dr. Linus is his wife Annie :P :P
....Sorry.....I had to say it
Oh my, lol.
Well, "Dr. Juliet Linus" would certainly explain Ben's "you are mine" line. Which would imply that Ben either carries some "memory" of the alt universe or someone has been giving him information about it.
I want some cooler episode titles, this is the last season after all. I have no idea how Ben becomes a doctor or professor, maybe its a tongue in cheek reference to his bullet removal services. I have no idea how ben's living off island, maybe because 815 doesn't crash jacob has different others living in the real world getting essential 815ers to the island.
With Doc Arzt supposedly being in this episode as a teacher as well, maybe, just maybe, Ben doesn't have any formal title at all...maybe one he gave himself as a certain middle school science teacher did...and least we forget he is a master of lying, I doubt that would change in ALT.
Brad,
There are 14 possiblities this season for centricity (counting multiple as one and jin/sun as one). The first five centricities (I'm counting 6.01/6.02 as one episode) have matched exactly with season one. The probability of that happening randomly is 1/240240 or .00041625%, which is incredibly unlikely. So like it or not, at the very least those first five centricities were planned to match-up with season 1.
Nooo! i was so hoping it'd be "The Butterfly" and be Charlie Centirc :(
i hate ben
