Thanks to Setspy for the following set report from some late filming. I'll try to find out some more about this scene.
Here's the shoot they are setting up for today. I don't know the area so I have no idea how to describe where it's situated. We just followed the production trucks as they left the production facility and they led us here. It's a private beach but we were able to walk right up to it and there was no security at the rear of the set yet and just production design people. It was kind of like a ghost town at first and they were all having a meeting off to the right side.
Security did eventually arrive but the guy assumed we worked for the show because we we wearing lost shirts and hats. Kind of dorky but nonetheless it worked for us previously on our trip.
They said it was going to be a night shoot and they have been building the set for several days. At first they were very mum about the details but they came back about 45 minutes later and talked a little bit more. Thye said, to their knowledge this would be one of the final scenes of the season if not the actual final scene. Basically, the scene takes place at a camp. They were mum about whose camp but they said this is different from the huts on the beach that we told here we had seen photos of on the ABC lost board. We asked them if it was the 1970's still and they kind of hinted that the 1970's plot ends, we asked if the "incident" causes the losties to transport to another time frame and they winked at us and told us to keep our little fan theories to ourselves on the set. They told us the indentation in the middle of the set was very notable for Lost's history but they left that open to interpretation.
That's all we could get from her. However, she provided us with a few hints to dramatically increase are chances tonight so we will try our luck tonight but they seemed to think that the security would be very heavy. They said filming would start at about 7:30 p.m. tonight and last well into the night but that it would be a closed set and it would likely be impossible to watch the filming.
The buildings around the indentation were in great condition so whatever happened at this place must have happened a long time ago since the buildings were not damaged.
In regards to the scene they were prepping, they were still shaping the indentation. The photo does not represent how deep it is but is was very deep. Could this have been the location of the jughead? They were watering some of the trees on the set and that is why the black hose is at the bottom of the frame.
My friend managed to snap a second photo but one of the guys on the crew saw her and kind of looked at us weird so she put the camera back in my purse. We took off and it was obvious they would not be filming for a very long time. They were just building up the set and putting on the final touches.
