Would it be possible to get a picture of size that doesn't require a magnifying glass? :)
Or does my browser not work right?
Jake: If you click on each image you should get a slightly larger version. They are the only scans we have currently.
Jake, my Firefox browser gives me a screen-size version and a magnifying glass option if I want to view it "full size".
As for the scans .... Hmmm. They're back at the cockpit???
Wonder where they got new guns from? Those are different from the kind in the hatch/that the others use.
The Beginning of the End?!
Where did they get that title from?
Cool!!!
Finally I see a new picture of my favorite characters (Sawyer, Locke, Desmond and Sayid), and all together.Great!
Jack and Kate! Yay!
this gets me sooooooo pumped for season 4... "The Beginning of the End"... the shot of Locke with the beach folk... Desmond back to tell them the bad news... another planes wreckage?!?!? this is too awesome.. im anxious as hell!!
I agree with Foxysmile up there ^^
Oh and Des is back with the gang!! :D
Go LOST!!
This looks so good... I can't wait til February..its driving me crazy!Eek, the title sounds very ominous. and Jack and Kate too! how cute!
Wow -- they're going back to the wreckage of the cockpit! I've wondered why they haven't tried to go back there since the Pilot, assuming it was the terror of seeing the pilot ripped out and shredded by, presumably, the Monster.
What kind of automatic rifle is that? How does Sawyer get that nice little prize? Freighter invaders? Ben's secret stash?
Is the gang still split? And Locke has just joined up with the beach crew?
Yay! New photos! I have a feeling that S4 will rock!
Holy crap it's the cockpit! I just had to register here to say that. I always wished they'd go back there someday. Or technically, they're not back because those people never visited the cockpit, only Jack, Kate and Charlie did.
The fact that Locke has reunited with the group after "infiltrating" the Others has me the most surprised. I thought for sure he was on his own for the time being. Any chance this is our group that gets "Left Behind"?
Sawyer, Locke, Sayid, Desmond and Hurley look like they're on a mission.
For what?
AWESOME! And I love the title of the first episode! Thanks Dark and Lyly! :)
The Beginning of the End.
Ooooooooooh! It's taped! Let us see it now! I need more cowb....Lost!
bongzilla...
Maybe another transceiver? Just kidding.
Jack and Kate!!!!!!!!
Together!!!!!!
Great!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful!!!!!!!!
What's intriguing about this picture is that Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid and Desmond have no idea that Locke just killed Naomi and threatened Jack. Is he leading them to safety or into a trap? I'm guessing they took the guns off of the Others that they killed.
Oh yeah, these are the beach people. I wonder who many episodes they'll be apart from the main group? I guess Desmond warned them about the "boat" and guess Locke joined them because he doesn't trust the Freighties either.
Oh, Ben's there too! (at least on the photo spread, making me think it was taken from the same location) Does that mean Locke took Ben with him when he left the Radio Tower?????
Sawyer is carrying an FN FAL, the NATO equivalent to the US M-16, I believe.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_FAL
The beginning of the end...
Thats hell of a kickass title!
sorry quick question? I can barely see the writing, I get no magnifying glass, so... is "The Begining of the End" the confirmed title for the first epi?
IORWEN: That is the title as claimed by the Article... good news for people who Picked T and/or 20 letters in the Prediction League :)
thanks Dark
Just a note that there is a 6th Lostie in that image with Locke... because *someone* is holding a torch behind Hurley. He's just standing in front of them so you can't see who it is. Bernard, Jin or Juliet would make the most sense since they are the other people on the beach in the finale.
Though... Locke *wasn't* on the Beach. So, what does he do, high tail it a day and a half's walk back to the Beachies before Jack gets there ? Hurley is in radio contact with Jack, so surely, Jack would be able to tell them about Locke's murderous new ways... Then again, Desmond knows that Naomi = Not Penny's Boat, so maybe that's why they trust Locke, regardless.
You're joking right... ? I don't remember anything about episode titles in the prediction league ?
Also... the S4 premiere title is a reference to a line by Ben from "Through the Looking Glass"...
BEN: This'll be your last chance, Jack. I'm telling you, making that call is the beginning of the end.
I want to say something intelligent and coherent but right now Im swooning seeing the Jack and Kate pic with Jatish undertones :)
"The Beginning of the End"... interesting. That's also the name of a track on Nine Inch Nails' most recent album, Year Zero. Wasn't Trent Reznor confirmed on the set recently??
You're joking right... ? I don't remember anything about episode titles in the prediction league ?
Greg, I think you're confusing the Prediction League with that of the Fantasy League.
i dunno if i could be right but in jack's hand there is the walkie talkie maybe he just learn about charlie's death
Finally! We can see more..What a great team Sawyer, Locke, Desmond... all together. They are near the plane OMG I'm O_O
First Josh's pic filming, nice, I want more...
""The Beginning of the End"... interesting. That's also the name of a track on Nine Inch Nails' most recent album, Year Zero. Wasn't Trent Reznor confirmed on the set recently??"
Yeah, it was confirmed....thats a little odd. I think it might be safe to say he will be making a cameo huh?
Yeah, it was confirmed....thats a little odd. I think it might be safe to say he will be making a cameo huh?
That would be sweet. I would almost say maybe they're going to do one of those ABC promotional videos (like Mika did with Ugly Betty this year), but I don't see NIN's style being very appropriate for ABC's main market share... It'd be hella cool if it happened though!
Looks like Juliet is with Lockes group. You can see her in one of the shots standing next to the cock pit. Ben is bloodied and tied up.. It looks like he too is with Lockes group. Didnt we see other spoiler photos that placed Jack, Kate, and some frieghter folks. ?
(quote)Didnt we see other spoiler photos that placed Jack, Kate, and some frieghter folks. ?(quote)
Yes, we've seen images of 1) Kate with Jeremy Davies' character, and 2) Jack with Ken Leung's character (who was pointing a gun at Jack's chest !). Both pairs (which appeared to be separate scenes) were shot on (similar) sloping rocks, and Ken Leung's character was also lying near a parachute.
Jeremy Davies' character was wearing a vest that reportedly has a red flashing light on it, possibly similar to the one seen in the night sky right before Naomi arrived on the Island.
YAY! Omg, i'm so excited! What are Desmond and the other guys doing at the cockpit? Locke with them?
And bring Jate on! Whn i look at that pic i remember "The Ultimate Relationship" quote. Looks like she's dying to kiss Jack. They love each other! This scene will be beautiful! JIF!
I just can't wait for season 4, it's driving me nuts!
"Looks like she's dying to kiss Jack. "
Maybe *she* is, but Jack looks like he's recoiling from her like they're in the 3rd grade, and Jack's best friend just informed him Kate has cooties.
I want to say something intelligent and coherent but right now Im swooning seeing the Jack and Kate pic with Jatish undertones :)
Nah. She's just telling him he'd be better looking with a big fuzzy beard. ;)
And who is in front of the A-team, are they looking at Ben or he is with them????Because they all look worried.
Or the guys from the freighter have already arrived???
Wow...
So many questions...with no answers.
Me too I'd like to say smthg smart but I am soooo excited about the JATE pic I can't help but smiling!!
YES!!!! They look so in love! Come on Jate!!!!
Season 4 will surely rock!! 'The beginning of the end'! I have shivers!
@gregdean: wow! I didn't remember that!! you rock!
Thanks so much for posting this great stuff dark! February can't get here soon enough for me!
The weapon is not a FAL it's an H&K G3
I guess its my browser then :)
Thanks for the replies!
I think these might be from episode 2. I don't know why, but that's the feeling I get. I mean, Locke's already back with the beach crew, he seemingly took Ben, Desmond is back from the Looking Glass, and they all, for reasons unknown, marched out to the front-section. Maybe we'll get the answer to what the heck happened to the people in all those empty seats in the front. (although that last speculation is just wishful thinking)
WAIT!!! . . . Is McDreamy moving on???!?!!
To see Locke, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid & Desmond all together is cool as well as Jin, Juliet & Bernard. By the look of things, Ben is too. Which is awesome. How all these characters managed to meet up in the middle of the jungle next to the plane is anyone's guess? Considering where we last saw them.
For some reeason I can't make the writing any bigger.
As for Sawyer's gun he's carrying, he probably got it of a guy from the freighter. It's one hell of a gun!!
Lyly for President!
"I think these might be from episode 2."
I noted this on the other thread, but when you zoom in on the clacker, up at the top, where episode/scene info normally goes, it looks like it says 2/62, as in episode 2, scene 62... probably towards the end of episode then. So yes, that explains how people who were distant in the finale can be near each other in this scene... they had all of episode 1 and possibly most of episode 2 to group up.
Lyly for President!
She'd get my vote! :)
Maybe they gone to the cockpit while tracking Rebecca Mader's character. Ain't she schedulled to appear at 4x02? She described a scene where she wake's up in the jungle surrounded by many Lost chracters.
As far as that pic of kate and jack about to kiss it sure looks to me like thats the scene from the finale last season right before they say their "i love you's" i dont think thats a new picture.
WTH... Cockpit? Locke at the beach? Nine inch nails?
"The beginning of the end". It gives me goosepimples.
They have all these guns and by the previous spoilers Jack and Kate will meet the new guys at the beach unarmed... no good.
Jake said: "WAIT!!! . . . Is McDreamy moving on???!?!!
Hahaha....This Mcguy doesn't stand a change beside Lost boys.
hipster doofus said: Maybe we'll get the answer to what the heck happened to the people in all those empty seats in the front
These new pictures sure make our imagination go wild, but that surely would be cool. And how should we call them, Fronties?
Thanks Lyly and Dark for the scans
Regardless of whether Jack notified the “Beachies” of Locke’s new murderous ways or not, look at who we are dealing with here; Sayid, Sawyer, Juliet and Desmond.
Sayid and Juliet are about the two most distrustful and skeptical people on the island, so they will be able to relate to Locke’s actions. After all, Locke HAS to have a bloody good reason for killing Naomi. Sawyer wouldn’t hold it against Locke, because let’s face it, it’s Sawyer. Desmond already knows that something is fishy about Naomi and her friends. Which leaves Hurley and Bernard, who don’t have to stones to portray an opinion.
Sure, that explains Locke's "need" to kill Naomi, but how are you going to explain away Locke's determination to kill Jack if he had to?
Which leaves Hurley and Bernard, who don’t have to stones to portray an opinion.
So...where's Jin?
Locke’s “determination” to kill Jack was purely down to what Locke knows (which we assume is thanks to Walt). Without us knowing what that is, it is impossible for us to even begin to understand what was going through Locke’s mind at that moment when he is holding a gun to Jack. Locke wouldn’t kill needlessly, so whatever he killed for (and was prepared to kill for) has to be of massive importance. Again, the likes of Sayid, Juliet, Sawyer and Desmond are entirely capable of putting logic before emotion, as we have seen in previous episodes. If Locke’s reason for killing Naomi and holding Jack at gun point was justified, which we have to assume it was, then the Beachies will understand.
Again, the likes of Sayid, Sawyer and Desmond are entirely capable of putting logic before emotion, as we have seen in previous episodes.
You mean like they did when they decided Jack had turned on them? So, let's see, it was logical to assume that the guy that has done nothing but break his neck for the good of all of them has decided to turn his back on him and shouldn't be trusted, but it wouldn't be logical to be leery of the guy that left Kate, Sayid, Jack and Juliet to be gassed, the guy that conned the con-man into doing his murdering for him and the guy who showed up, killed Naomi and along with Ben in his corner threatened to kill Jack?
No, we don't know why Locke did what he did and why he doesn't just spill his guts remains a mystery, but if he was willing to kill Jack instead of just tell him why he shouldn't leave the island then why would he suddenly have a change of heart and tell anyone else why he's suddenly gone mad and why on earth would Sayid of all people trust him?
Whoa! Now i'm happier, but february looks more far away than ever! Please, i want february to be tomorrow :P!
I can't wait to see what Locke is up to, and how they're going to react about Charlie. And i love to see Jack and Kate together, i'm not a die-hard shipper, but i think they really love each other and they're a hell of a team =]!
Go season 4!
At the end of Season 3, katieb, I'd hardly say Ben is "in (Locke's) corner". That's a bit presumptuous too.
I have a feeling it's going to be the beachies vs. the radio toweries at the beginning of the season. Locke and Ben along with Desmond will lead the small but powerful group on the mission against the rest of the losties who are at the radio tower.
john pritzlaff said: "I have a feeling it's going to be the beachies vs. the radio toweries"
I think that's not likely... who are the radio toweries? Jack, the women and children? Oh, and Steve :)
Can see to Jack and Kate together is amazing !!!
wow thanks for the scans they all look amazing!
i dont know what Locke is doing with the beach crew and why are they filming near the cockpit but it looks interesting!
and the jate pics looks awesome! they are so cute and i cant wait to watch that scene!
isnt it feb yet?
COOL!
"the beginning of the end".brilliant!
Team Jate off together.great.
and why is Locke doing with the Losties again?!
"the beginning of the end"
Was that the quote from Ben to Jack in TTLG ?? when ben was tied to the tree and he shouted to jack not to call the boat.
yes it was Ben's quote but i guess he said that before jack beated him!
I'm soo excited to see new promo pictures for season 4. The only thing that disappoints me is that Kate's role as a plot device to serve the triangle/quadrangle from hell is going to continue next season. Way to ruin your female lead TPTB. I think EL would kill to get a story line like the one EM had last year.
True but a storyline like Juliet wont be able to last 6 seasons. She can only stay mysterious and intriguing for limited time period. In fact by the end of S3 and the finale she was shoved at the back.
I think the triangle wont last for much longer since they have a deadline now and EL wont be playing love games for the next 48 episodes. I think with flashforwards we will get to see more of Kate sans her men problem. Her trial, her reluctance to go back, her relationships with the other losties, adjusting to the world again. I am just speculation I cud be wrong :)
Didn't the producers already say that the love triangle is going to continue until the end of the show? I really hope they were lying just to create media hype because honestly, who wants to see the female lead being reduced to a plot device with no real purpose on the show? It's true that Juliet didn't have that much screentime in the final episodes last year, but Kate didn't have that much either in the episodes leading up to the finale. There's a good chance that Kate finally gets something to do in the FFs but I doubt that we'll see a lot of them next season.
I think that the writers played too much with the triangle and next season it must end. To Kate's character could be so ridiculous and degrading.
A hand on a face mean nothing, KATE IS PREGNANT this is sooooo significant.

Yes.
Distrusting Jack after his return from Otherville was rational. Michael had spent an extended time with the Others, returned with an agenda, and killed two of the survivors. Jack's behavior was suspicious, and he refused to divulge any details of his time with the Others. And the suspicion turned out to be at least partially justified: Jack was withholding information about the intent of the Others.
Sayid, Sawyer, and Desmond will likely trust Locke, at least a little, because he'll be bringing confirmation of information they have from another source: that the "rescuers" aren't who the Others had hoped they were.
Exactly, frizzielizzie.
People have to remember the environment that the castaways are stuck in. Death and deceit happens on a daily basis on the island. Besides, look at what some of the other Losties have done on the island. They have all been forgiven, or at the very least let off the hook.
Jack ain’t no saint, and the Losties know just how annoying he can be. Jack is stubborn as all hell, and if pointing a gun at his head was worth a shot, then i feel certain that Sayid, Sawyer and Desmond would have done exactly the same thing.
My guess is that the Jack/Kate scene involves Jack's self-recrimination about his earlier decision(s) and Kate's attempt to re-assure him. (Much as in the airport scene). Jack seems to be holding the walkie talkie - he may have just been told that it's not Penny's boat and that Naomi was lying. I very much doubt it includes a romantic declaration although doubtless it will be very emotional.
nd how should we call them, Fronties?
While I doubt the show will introduce any new survivors of Oceanic 815 (although it would be funny to see either the pilot or co-pilot somehow still alive), I think the best name for any front section survivors would be First Class passengers, for Firsties.
Woooow!
One question - where is Jin? Why wouldn't he go with Hurley and Sawyer? He might just be out of the shot of course, but he's not in any of the pictures.. so he might be back at the beach with Juliet. Hmm, random observation.
Holy crap am I bad at being spoiler free!!!!!

I haven't forgotten anything, I'm just trying to grasp your logic that says that it was perfectly logical not to trust Jack, but that it would somehow be illogical to question Locke's intentions, that Locke threatening to kill Jack for doing exactly what Sayid insisted he do would seem acceptable to Sayid and that he wouldn't be the least bit concerned about Locke. My guess is that they have no idea yet that Locke killed Naomi and threatened to kill Jack while Ben urged him on "Yes do it John, kill him!"

The reason why I'm sure that there won't be a romantic declaration is that it would kill the triangle/quadrangle story line that the writers love so much. It's very possible that Jack & Kate just got informed about Charlie's death and the danger from the freighter and Kate tells Jack that it isn't his fault. Still, that scene surely will be ambigious and that's why I fear that the producers will continue ruining Kate's character next season.
Anyways, what I really want to know is why the Losties from the beach are at the fuselage and how Ben got into the jungle.
I totally missed that this was the beach crew that went after the Others. Duh! So it looks like Desmond returns to the beach with news that 1) Charlie's dead and 2) the boat out there is not Penny's boat. That information, relayed to Jack, makes for a tense moment, as Jack realizes Ben was right -- he's just called who knows who to the island to "rescue" them. He may decide, however, that they can have the island if they rescue everyone -- it'll be the mistake he regrets the most, trading away the island.
Intriguing will be if this beach crew ends up STRANDED on the island, deciding to follow Locke (moreso Desmond), and not risk their lives with Minkowski. They may even strike a terribly uneasy alliance with the Others.
Just think of the "splits" this will cause -- Rose leaves w/out Bernard, Sun w/out Jin, Kate w/out Sawyer, Jack w/out Juliet ... makes for at least a small group itching to find their way home.
It is impossible to see the pilot again. The pilot was a character personified by the same Matt Parkman in HEROES. I don't think we will see him again.
Omg.... OMG!!!
But maybe the photo isn't from a scene, maybe they just lined up like that for a photo and Locke actually isn't back with them...
but anyway... YAY!!!
i'm pretty sure the jate pic is for a deleted scene for finale season, 'cause kate's hairs and also, her skin maybe i'm wrong but i noticed she's changed if you look others pics we saw with jeremy davies
Wouldn't it be incredible if Bernard turned out to be exactly like John Rambo?
I mean, think about it: Bernard setting up explosives, diving out of trees and caves and stuff to destroy his enemies, using cryptic one-liners ("I'm your worst nightmare") and shooting arrows that make things explode.
Maybe Sayid, Sawyer, Desmond, Hurley and Juliet could get in on the Rambo action. They'd be like the Dirty half-Dozen.
LOST could become the most violent hour on television...it could down in history like "Rambo III". And it should.
I fear that the producers will continue ruining Kate's character next season.
I think TPTB are aware of the damage they've done to their female lead and that we will hopefully see a lot less of Kate ping-ponging between Jack and Sawyer and a lot more of Kate dealing with the mysterious "him" in the future and trying to stay out of jail and find out just what Kate is willing to sacrifice for freedom. I think she's got a whole other story in the future that doesn't include her island boyfriends, which is why the pregnancy issue will be resolved in Episode 4. Move her onto to a story with some meat in it, something challenging and interesting. I know, I'm being overly optomistic aren't I? Oh well, we still have Juliet and hopefully TPTB won't ruin her too or kill her off.
I think the pic is right after Jack makes contact with the freighter. Why would they put a deleted scene pic when the article is about S4? TV Guide is a reputable magazine they wont advertise the article as First Look At S4 and put S3 pictures.
They also say "first look at Lost boys and girls back in action".
Why are you guys saying Sayid will trust Locke? If anything, I'd think he'd be the first to go against Locke.
Remember season 1 with Sayid trying to triangulate the signal? Leading Sayid to the beechcraft? Season 3 when Locke hid the C4 from them?
Sayid wants to get off this Island, as he said in the finale, and if Locke comes back and is like "Hey guys, I just killed Naomi and tried to assault Jack" I don't think Sayid say "Well that sounds reasonable."
i'm pretty sure the jate pic is for a deleted scene for finale season, 'cause kate's hairs and also, her skin maybe i'm wrong but i noticed she's changed if you look others pics we saw with jeremy davies
It's possible. Maybe it was shot after Jack beat up Ben and Kate went to see why he was so upset and they decided it was too touchy-feely and eliminated it from the finale. Guess we'll find out in February.
Sayid wants to get off this Island, as he said in the finale, and if Locke comes back and is like "Hey guys, I just killed Naomi and tried to assault Jack" I don't think Sayid say "Well that sounds reasonable."
Glad to know I'm not the only one that finds the idea absurd.
it's not the freighter in jack's hand but the walkie takie ;)
sound like pic for season3 'cause in new picture, kate has hair more dark and more short and also her skin is different ;)
maybe i'm wrong but sound like that for me
It's not:"Hey guys, I just killed Naomi and tried to assault Jack"
It's more: the people who is coming is not who we thought???(for both Locke and Desmond).
And Locke didn't try to kill Jack, he just was trying to stop that call(in my opinion).
i agree with you jacob's chair, locke wanted to protect the island but not kill jack but now losties could think that locke is an other but it seems here he works with sawyer and co ^^
Nice to see new photo's, pity S4 is still 3 months or so away..Also nice to see Locke back with the losties!
On the Jack/Kate pic, It could very well be a deleted scene from S3, although I don't really see much difference in Kate from then & now..I think her hair look's dark cause it's been blown back in the picture with JD, plus I it kinda look's like her hair is shorter, but I think it's just caught beneath her bag..
I would have thought that as it's "the same day" on the Island, Evi wouldn't have been able to change her look that much..
O'well only 3 & a bit more month's before we find out :)
Is that a freighter in your hand or are you just glad to see me?
the Dirty half-Dozen
Well played, my man.
Lol I meant contact with the ppl on freighter :) Is that the walkie talkie or the Satellite phone in Jacks hand?
Maybe you are right but both Fox and Lilly didn't look too diff from the Rock pictures.
Also Jacks knuckles are not bloodied so maybe its not right after Jack kicked Ben;s ass.
Someone mentioned somewhr that they shot some S4 scenes right after wrapping up S3. Is that correct?
All I know waiting for feb is a bitch.
Woah baby!!
I really doubt that's a different plane although that would be something. Almost 100% sure its not though.
But how cool is it when they bring back old pieces of the show. Assuming that the cockpit MUST have something to do with the plot (I'm sure it cost time and money to drag that thing out there), I'm very interested to see what will happen with it.
Hmm what else do we spot? Well DESMOND is with them. Guess they know about Charlie. And Locke too. Have they realized he wasn't wrong about killing Naomi? Hint, hint: have they encountered these new people?
What wonders one picture can tell.
Another thing... =]
It's interesting to think that Sawyer, Locke, etc have never been to or even seen the cockpit.
Definetely agree with the people above too. Beach crew and radio tower crew have both caught up, but where is the other 30+ survivors?
My opinion? Kill them off and focus the show on the main cast baby! Well, don't kill Rose, Claire, and the ones we like :D
i'm pretty sure the jate pic is for a deleted scene for finale season, 'cause kate's hairs and also, her skin maybe i'm wrong but i noticed she's changed if you look others pics we saw with jeremy davies
i see what u mean but actually it often happens in a show that while filming a season finale they also film some stuff for the first episode of the next season 'cause people tend to notice if in the first eppy there are big changes in the actors especially if the scenes are supposed to take place in the same day.
plus..that moment does not fit with the season3 finale. jack has the walkie talkie in his and not Naomi's walkie.this can't be after the call and it's not after the ben beating either.jack's hands are clean.and they don't hae their backpacks on..!
it hasn't happened yet IMO.the magazine says it itself btw.those are the first pics of s4.
So this is what Cuse and Lindelof meant when they said there would be a set used at the beginning of season 4 that we had not seen since the first season. Very Cool.
I can't believe I'm here trying to prove that the jate pic among the pics from s4 is from s4. lol.
Well anyway... Yeah, Evi cut her hair but it must have been after the first episodes since here: http://bp1.blogger.com/_RrObyQ3XzcY/RvDX1uOp2iI/AAAAAAAAIj4/VON2iQywKQo/s1600-h/85255_EvangelineLillyonthesetofLost17090702_122_949lo.jpg
you can see the hair close to her right arm, the hair is long. It's from season 4. Suck it. :)
Other things that I find interesting in that pic is that Kate's hands are dirty.. and she doesn't have the backpack like in the phone call scene from the finale. And is it just me or does it look like they could be under a tree or something? Cause it looks like there are leaves above their heads... The rest of the background is obviously blurry since the camera's zoomed to Jack & Kate. I don't know... it just came to my mind.
Like I said, it's very likely that they just got informed about the danger from the freighter or Charlie's death.
Sayid wants to get off this Island, as he said in the finale, and if Locke comes back and is like "Hey guys, I just killed Naomi and tried to assault Jack" I don't think Sayid say "Well that sounds reasonable." - Chris
I totally agree.
So if Locke tells the beachies: “I just killed Naomi and tried to stop Jack at gun point, because the people on the freighter are bad. They are coming here to kill us all and claim the island for themselves”, you’d still expect Sayid to have a dicky-fit about it?
In the Lost that I’ve been watching, Sayid is a cool customer. He calculates things, and he uses a logical standpoint 99% of the time. If the Losties are in danger then he will fight to the death for them; his friends. The prospect of losing his ticket off the island will come second to the safety of himself and his castaway friends.
Not to mention that Desmond will be able to back up Locke’s claims, in a roundabout way.

In the Lost that I've been watching, Sayid is rarely a cool customer. He's extremely paranoid and often acts on paranoia and anger first and logic second 100% of the time, nearly killing Sawyer in Season 1 comes to mind immediately.
"The Beggining of the End" sounds as bad as "Empire Strikes Back" or "Attack of the Clones". Hope that is not the title of the fourth season premiere. And if it really is the title of the episode, I could only forgive it if the episode kick-ass big time.
Oh, btw...
OMFGWTFPOLARBEAR is the cockpit!!
We are not watching the same show.Or were you talking about Jack and not Sayid?
Did Jack nearly kill Sawyer in Season 1? No, so apparently I'm talking abuot Sayid. Let's agree to disagree. If you believe Sayid is going to just welcome crazy Locke with open arms then that's what you believe. To me, it seems very un-Sayid like. Let's just wait and see what happens. Locke is very good a manipulating people and has manipulated Sayid before so you may be right in you assumption.
i think someone parachuted to the cockpit
how else would all of these people meet up
@moviemaniac126 - Have they realized [Locke] wasn't wrong about killing Naomi? Hint, hint: have they encountered these new people?
That could very well be why they appear to trust Locke. Another scenario: After learning from Desmond that the "rescuers" are not coming on Penny's boat, they've somehow been able to confirm that the new people are bad news and that Locke was right to threaten Jack to prevent contact with them. The beach group will know that they have to avoid the newbies but the radio tower group won't have a clue. With so many of the couples split up, the beach group will be desperate to find a way to save their loved ones. It's going to be a wild ride. And I'm thrilled that most of my favourite characters are together at the cockpit. Maybe they'll communicate for once in their lives so they can fight the common enemy.

I was referring to when you say that Sayid is extremely paranoid and often acts on paranoia and anger first and logic second 100% of the time. Because these are qualities that I(nobody has to agree with me)think that Jack has (at least in the 2 first seasons). I'll give you a few examples: when the others take Claire(how he acts), at Boone's funeral (giving Locke a beating), when he gives Sawyer a beating (because he thinks that he has the asma medication),...
And about Sayid, I think that he's the only one that keeps his mind cold to act and think in a rational way(of course you're right in the example that you used, but could you give me more examples?) and that's why he is the only one who has the complete trust of all of the losties(yes, maybe except Locke).
Saska sais:And I'm thrilled that most of my favourite characters are together.
Me too, I love to see Locke, Sawyer, Sayid, Desmond, Ben, Hurley, Juliet, Jin and Bernard together(yeah, Bernard too).
I'm a shiper:I'm a Sawyidesmockener or Desawyidckener (translation:Saywer-Sayid-Desmond-Locke-Ben). Or can someone help me to find a better name for my ship???
Oh, and are more Sawyidesmockeners there?
From what I can remember in last season's finale. Bernard, Juliet & Sayid were still at the losties camp, first explaining why Juliet is digging graves & secondly why Desmond is with them. Desmond tells the group about Charlie's message & they go out into the jungle to tell the others, bumping into Locke, Ben, Hurley & Sawyer.
What I found most interesting besides the cool pic is what Desmond {Henry Ian Cusick} says: What's this-another downed plane? Isn't saying, but lets slip that Lost's new cast members {not pictured} 'Are all very different from anything else on the island.' I wonder what that's all about?
I bet Kate is trying to console Jack after he has realized he has just made a terrible mistake by not listening to Lock. Then again he probably won't admit to being wrong. Jack probably won't believe Desmond either since we saw him in an earlier pic with the parachutist.
"radzinsky", yes. I wondered about this myself. Is TV Guide deliberately mystifying things by not saying it is the cockpit? Has it been confirmed that it indeed is Flight 815?

Huh? This is all presumption, not recollection.
The last we heard from the newly-dubbed "Beachies" was Hurley responding via walkie talkie to Claire's "What about Charlie?" query. Jin and Bernie were seen moments before, as Hurley's news that Sayid, Bernie and Jin were alive. Also, a cutaway was seen of Juliet and Sayid lining up Pryce and other dead Others.
The next scene was Charlie's swan song. Then some business with Rousseau's message being on the sat phone, arrival at the radio station, then Ben's grim "beginning of the end" warning, Locke's arrival to slay Naomi, and then Minkowski's answer. After that, it's flash forward time and the end of Season 3.
The black box. Is that why our Beachies are heading to the cockpit? To retrieve the black box? It makes me wonder if there's a lot going on here we haven't seen. How's this for speculation? Please excuse the randomness of these thoughts:
1. Ben didn't jam the signal, the "freighter" jammed the signal. Our little island has been controlled from THE OUTSIDE all along. Studied from the outside and, in some instances, controlled by the outside.
2. Ben was working with THE OUTSIDERS, given reins to do what he wants on the island as long as he maintained a certain status quo. He's the conduit between the Outsiders and the Others, though the Others don't know it. (Why else would he know which way to send Michael?)
3. The Outsiders are the real scientists, the hard core scientists, studying the effects of the island on a human population over a certain length of time.
4. The Outsiders are responsible for the crash of Flight 815. It coincided with the burst of energy from the Swan station, but jamming from the Outsiders is what caused the plane to drift into the direction of the island in the first place.
5. The Outsiders are responsible for the lists, trying to cull "innocents" from the survivors in an effort to not taint their modified experiment. They didn't expect the tenacity of the Losties to overwhelm the experiment.
6. The smoke monster WAS controlled by the Outsiders, but has gone rogue. They can still pick up its transmissions. They were once able to use the monster as both a survellience and a security system.
7. The sub used to dock with the freighter, if there is one, new recruits flew to the freigther from another location.
8. The freighter is more likley a kind of manmade island, like an oil rig, but bigger, a kind of mirror image of our island -- technology versus a living thing.
Probably all crazy ...
Probably, but like you I love me some good ol' speculation ;)
tom, if only a bit of this actually turns out to be true, it would be great. The fact that the freighter is linked to the Others without they realizing it but it does not explain why Mikhail and Benjamin were afraid of the Losties getting in touch with them.
Any thoughts?

Simple, guys. Ben was been pretending to be DHARMA loyal to ensure the food/meds/supply drops from the outside.
Two things happened that set off alarms for the Outsiders that something was amiss with Ben Linus and his people:
- The Swan Station failsafe was activated;
- Not long after that, the communications station lost contact (courtesy of Locke blowing up the Flame)
I further think the Virus that allegedly infected the Island was something that Ben and the former Hostiles created to keep meddlers out. It may or may not have been real, but worked to keep new people from coming to the island (the exceptions being Inman, Bakunin and Burke).
Good point, bongzilla. You might want to consider summing up any theories you might have and publish it.

Thanks for the encouragement, hdfan. I do have a LOST blog, but I haven't had time to cogently piece it together. Now my excuse is I'm waiting for the S3 dvds...
Woo! My selfish demands were met with overwhelming response.
Thanks for the hi-res images. I appreciate it.
I still had to strain, but that's because my eyes suck.
The fact that the freighter is linked to the Others without they realizing it but it does not explain why Mikhail and Benjamin were afraid of the Losties getting in touch with them.
Bong hit the nail on the head: Ben and Mikhail are protecting the island from the Outsiders. His group are acting like DHARMA, but aren't DHARMA.
See if I can piece this together coherently (all speculation, of course).
1. Outsiders and DHARMA are one and the same.
2. DHARMA, as we saw in Ben's flashback, is the "real" DHARMA.
3. Island natives (Alpert) and some DHARMA, including Ben, want to stop the scientists from doing what they're doing, perhaps at the behest of Jacob (whomever that may be).
4. They gas 'em.
5. They call the gassing a "supervirus" and place everyone on quarantine (effectively trapping the other DHARMAs in their stations until they can be rounded up by the Others).
6. The Swan becomes the "rube". DHARMAs are confined there and forced to "press the button", which maintains the illusion of DHARMA still being active.
7. But with the island quarantine in effect, the Outsiders are unwilling to send new recruits to the island. All the better, suggests Ben, as they want to contain the virus so that it doesn't spread to the outside world.
8. Danielle, an Outsider, knows of this story. She believes it's true (which is why she's keen to tell Sayid). Only after the crash of 815 is she learning the truth.
9. Desmond's turning of the failsafe created a signal that would suggest that the worst has happened -- the virus had overtaken the island.
10. Our Outsiders return to see what has happened, only to discover that they've been duped. Now they want their island back.
@jacob's chair - I'm a shiper:I'm a Sawyidesmockener or Desawyidckener (translation:Saywer-Sayid-Desmond-Locke-Ben).
I'll jump aboard that ship. Where's Hurleybird, Jin and Juliet, though? Yeah, I've got a girl crush on Juliet. Then we could just call it the beach ship. Oops, I forgot Bernard. Now it's getting unwieldy. So I'll narrow it down to Sawyer-Sayid-Locke-Ben: SawSaLoBen.
tom, we're on the same page of figuring this out up until around #8 on your list.
8. Danielle. I think the Virus was mostly a ruse, but it was backed with some sort of reality that imprinted itself on her mind -- likely the deaths of her husband Robert and the crew. (Maybe Brennan took the keys to the vital antidote supply.) Likely Ben and the former Hostiles concocted (or discovered among DHARMA leftovers) some substance and spread it all over the island. Danielle, by luck or cunning, wasn't dosed and survived, with horrible memories of this event. She mapped the entire island in some detail (or someone did and she had their maps). So she must've believed she was immune to the virus. She may have believed it was still active, thus her warning to Sayid in her bunker (and how did she make that bunker? the Orchid?).
9. Desmond turning the failsafe signalled that the island's powersource, the Swan, was destroyed. I really think there's not a lot of mystery as to what was behind the six feet of concrete in the Swan. It was some semi-unstable device that generated power by using and venting the island's electromagnetic fields. I think it had a side effect of generating some side effect field, which was why the computer+human combination was required to maintain it. If it was purely mechanical, humans would inevetiably assume that it was self-sufficient and not give it the hourly attention it required. A human had to be nearby to activate the failsafe, lest a calamity of large proportions occur. The failsafe merely shut down the generator and tossed the island back to primeval status. But it also notified the Outsiders that DHARMA was done for.
10. Agree with this statement.
To Saska:
Yes, the name is the most difficult part. Maybe The Outsiders (but Hurley is not an outsider), or The Ladykillers (I love Coens movies)... or The Beach Ship as you said.
Now, I only hope that the recent rumours about a death in our team will be fake.
I like The Ladykillers
Pictures!!! This means something we can really work off of to come up with some different conspiracies here!
a couple of mine:
1) locke, hurley, sawyer, sayid, des, and bernard are all in the biggest picture on on the left with torches (to point out the obvious here). does it remind anybody else of when we met mr. friendly?
2) jin isn't in any of the pictures.
3) as someone pointed out earlier, juliet looks like she has her hands tied in the pic by the plane and the losties are guarding her. anybody think she killed jin????
4) i don't think that is oceanic flight 815 they're standing by.
3) as someone pointed out earlier, juliet looks like she has her hands tied in the pic by the plane and the losties are guarding her. anybody think she killed jin???? - courtney
I'm sure if she killed Jin, the Losties wouldn't tie her up. They would probably kill her. It's more likely that they think she lied to them about TLG and blame her for Charlie's death.
Whose the mysterious person behind Hurley holding the burning torch? It looks a bit like Juliet is sneeking off thru the bushes lol It cud be Ben...who knows?
Jacob's chair and yessifer, I like the The Ladykillers, too.
To saska and yessifer:
So we've got the name of our ship.
Heck, if I had Sayid there I'd be fine. After seeing him killing that dude with just his ankles......dang, I wouldn't mess with him.
