Thanks to Neil, Will and Cathalina for the following. Some good info from Ausiello this week.
Question: This strike has me worried about the future of Lost. Since it looks like ABC will go ahead and air the eight completed episodes in early '08, what happens to the other eight? — Conor
Ausiello: It all depends on when the strike ends. If it ends in the next month or so, there's a good chance all 16 episodes will still air this season. If it goes on longer than that, the back eight would most likely be grouped in with next season's 16. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Question: One more Lost-related strike Q: How will the strike affect the return of Harold Perrineau (Michael) and Cynthia Watros (Libby)? — Conor
Ausiello: They both made the pre-strike cut — but just barely. Sources confirm that Watros and Perrineau will show up in Episode 8. And I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they're both somehow involved in the mini cliff-hanger that Team Darlton's been teasing.
Question: I'm absolutely lost without Lost. Can you please pass along any details on Season 4 to tide me over? — Mike B.
Ausiello: Episode 6 is Juliet-centric and features the return of three deceased characters: *o*****, **h*n, and **. *r*e*d**.
(Note: the three deceased characters must be Goodwin, Ethan and Mr. Friendly)

I thought Michael would be appearing pretty early in the season so I'm a little surprised on that. I'm glad we get a Juliet episode out of the 8, her's overall were my fav's of Season 3.
I so wanna know what thsi game changer is about. Hmmm! So it involves Libby and Michael, what could that be? Maybe we are going to find out she was a Dharma Member and further yet spotted the Incident? At least I think Leonard was there because of that, right? I mean, they wetn crazy with whatever happened, it affected them just like Candle might have lost one of his arms.
As to Michael, I like the idea that he's spying on the new people coming on the freighter! :)
Tom, Ethan and Goodwin are nothing surprising in a Juliet flashback, if it was in a Ben's, I'd expect to know that he was actually a Dharma Member, too.
Anyway, great news, Dark.
The "he" I said above is Tom.
at last!! Libby's back :D
Now the important thing is to know whose flashback we'll see in episode 8, so we can know who had some connection with libby in the past...
I knew it! Juliet got ep. 6! Nice to have old faces back. Goodwin and Ethan, huh? Damon Lindelof hinted at the 3x01 audio comentary that we might see how Juliet reacted to Goodwin's death. Guess could be at this episode. And I would love to see more of Claire's escape (2x15) from Juliet's POV. I really wanna know how Ethan got that nasty nail scratch on his face when he tried to get Claire back (1x15). The 2x15 FB showed Claire wasn't responsible for. My next 'victims' would be Juliet or Alex.
I think by mid-season we might be ready for a new-person FB episode, I really don't think we're going to see Libby in a flashback of anyone we know.
Chances are that we will only see Micheal and Libby in like the last 20 seconds of episode 8 and they will be part of the big twist clifhanger.
But it's great news to hear that Juliet will be getting episode 6. Hopefully it won't be her last!

I totally agree. Her flashbacks have been one of the best last season and I hope that this won't be her last one. It's also nice to have Ethan, Goodwin and Tom back. It should also feature many scenes with Ben and the Ben/Juliet dynamic is always fun to watch IMO. Like leoff already said I think it's possible that this one deals with her reaction to Goodwin's death. We'll see.
i thought i read somewhere that the freighter people are coming to the island because they are looking for someone....maybe it's desmond...but maybe it could be libby?....big fan of juliette, happy to hear about her flashback
I think episode 8 might by Locke's FB.
If I remember it well, we have:
1 - Multicentric/Hurley/Sawyer ??
2 - Hurley/Sawyer ??
3 - Sayid
4 - Kate
5 - Desmond
6 - Juliet
7 - Sun/Jin
Jack might appear in someone else's FF (Sayid/Hurley or Kate), so what about Locke? I guess he would have an episode before Ben, right?
Or Locke has episode 2, and episode 8 is Ben's, showing his connection with Michael at the boat.
Oh, hell... I don't know anymore.
Oh YES!!! I can't get enough Goodwin and Ethan, and I miss Tom dearly. Episode 6 is gonna kick ass!
I suspect episode 6 will be the flashback in which we finally get more of a clue as to what the Others were actually *doing* on the Island. Not their OB/GYN research, not their interactions with the Losties... what is their actual *reason* for being there at all ? What do the Others do ? What is their purpose as a group ?That's something we still don't know, and I suspect this flashback will give us (at least some of, heh) the answer.
GregDean, how much do you wanna bet Juliet will dislocate her shoulder, too?
GregDean, how much do you wanna bet Juliet will dislocate her shoulder, too?
Another of the great (okay, not so much) mysteries... Juliet's three shoulder dislocations !
If it involves a barechested Goodwin, rumpled sheets and "Downtown"... I find myself kinda wanting to see that, oddly.
i think the episode 8 will be centric on a new character, maybe Miles or Charlotte.
A Juliet Centric, awseome. Wouldn't Mikhail, Richard & Bea Klugh be in this episode as Juliet came to the island after them?
I would have thought Michael would appear much earlier in Season 4 alongside Walt? I think their will be two twists in episode 8, one twist with Michael & the freighter & how Michael is double-crossing Ben.
& the other twist will involve Libby, but I heard a while ago when we next see her in a flashback we won't see Desmond or Hurley. So maybe someone from Dharma like Marvin Candle or Alva Hanso himself or even Magnus Hanso?
I also would love a Locke & Ben Centric before episode 9!! I really hope that Sawyer's Tampa Job will be in a full episode rather than in a mix centrix episode.
Anyway, thanks Dark
Maybe we will get to witness Juliet's introduction into the Other's belief in Jacob and find out how this "woman of science" came to trust so blindly in Jacob and his power.
it makes me sick to think we may only get 8 episodes.. it throws off the whole flow of the show and is going to make the writers RUSH for the 5th season.. and that's exactly what we DIDNT want... it reall sucks because this 8th episode may end on a SORT OF cliffhanger... but it's not the way Damon/Carlton wanted it... GOD! i pray this strike ends within the next month or so... i really want a full season of LOST the way they intended!
I too was expecting Michael to arrive earlier in the season, considering he's supposed to be returning to the role of "regular character", but he's only going to be there for half the season.
Considering that Libby is definitely dead the only way we're going to see her (with or without Michael) is in a flashback, and I just hope it's not re-filming extra bits for the scene where Michael shot her, that would be a cop out. Anyway, here's hoping to a speedy end to the strike!

*Cynthia Watros* shows up in episode 8... maybe it's as Libby's twin sister, Beth !
(I know Libby has been pretty much confirmed to be seen again in season 4... I'm just saying, we don't 100% know they wouldn't play the "twin gag" at some point in the show... it's not impossible.)
Out of all the character's back stories, we don't know why Libby went to Australia. Her appearance in episode 8 will likely shed some light to this mystery, probably through another character's flashback.
An idea was posted awhile ago that Libby was out to get Hurley because he ended up killing her husband, Dave, in the "decking accident", which subsequently drove her mad. Being in the same facility as Hurley, perhaps she learned it was he who killed her husband and began stalking him. She ended up following Hurley to Australia. Then, the plane crashed on the island, which set up the perfect premise to allow Libby to get close to Hurley.
No offense to anyone, but a hot chick such as Libby liking Hurley always seemed far-fetched to me, and that look that Libby had on her face before they flash backed to her being in a mental institute makes you wonder what she's really up to.
I don't see anyone considering the flash-forward element. It is totally possibly that Episode 8 or some other could be Michael-centric and be a flash-forward. It would be perfect. Or perhaps, a Michael/Libby episode...We learn of Libby's past in her flashback at the same time Michael is learning of everything in his flashforward. AHH i'm so excited.
And what about?:
1 - Sawyer
2 - Hurley
3 - Sayid
4 - Kate
5 - Desmond
6 - Juliet
7 - Sun/Jin
And
8-Jack (dying)
Yeahhh, I'd like it.
Hoping Epi 8 will be Michael-centric!
Here's an idea... maybe episode 8 is the long-awaited Danielle flashback, which includes a game changer that involves Libby. Maybe Danielle and Libby were both DHARMA, and coworkers. One scenario could be that Libby was supposed to go on the DHARMA expedition to the Island, but something prevented her from going, so Danielle ended up taking her spot. The twist would be that we discover that Libby felt drawn to the Island for all those 16 years (ie, Jack in the FB), and so she just took constant trips over the Pacific hoping for a crash.
One possibly cliffhanger is that Danielle admits to the Lostaways that they have another escape alternative: HER boat. We still don't know whatever happened to it.
Michael's appearance could be unrelated, and just part of the big Freighter reveal, but what he has to say, or what he does, when we see him, is what the cliffhanger is.
Cool theory about Libby & Danielle; GregDean!! I like it. I agree with most of it. But before she does a Jack {trying to get back to the island}, she tries plan B ;- Go after one or two characters {Hurley & Desmond}in order to get to the island, via demands by Charles Widmore/Mr.Paik. I think Danielle's story about how she arrived on the island is true. Some of the stuff her & her crew got up to whilst they were on the island for 16+ years may or may not be true?
The bit about Michael sounds awesome. I can see that happening. Why would they wait 8 episodes into season 4 just to introduce Michael & Walt? I personally would have the Season 4 premiere kicking off with Michael, Walt & these freighter people with one or two guys {Jeremy Davies, Ken Leung} parachuting on the island whilst the freighter boat is vast approaching the island with several speed boats travelling towards the island in the dark.
Sorry if some of this doesn't make any sense. I was just rambling.
Ash, that's a very interesting theory about Hurley and Libby. I'm still hoping the Big Guy won her fair and square, though. Take that, Frogurt!
i don't really like the sound of that Frogurt guy, this seems like another Nikki/Paolo catastrophy just waiting to happen. but it would be very possible for the writers to introduce him as a character that has interacted with Hurley and Libby, as those two were hardly shown in the last half of season 2 or so. Libby wasn't given half as much screen time as she deserved.
i bet if the writers could go back in time, they would save Shannon's death for episode 2x20 "two for the road" instead of Libby's death, and then they would be able to show Libby flashbacks all over the place, and make her storyline even more interesting than what it wil turn out to be.
anyone agree?
I liked Libby but she's d.e.a.d and g.o.n.e so I don't understand the fascination about her having a flashback or how she's portrayed as having some exciting arc to the Lost story. Small potatoes IMHO.
Hey I think the "*o*****" could also been Colleen.
