Yes, he often does. And I think it's fair to say that this season Ben reminds me a little of Boss Tweed or Don Corleone in his heyday. He's on the wrong side of the law, but he has rock-solid relationships with grand pooh-bas, with little people and with everyone in between, and as such, his influence extends to places you'd never imagine.

Honestly, everything I've heard so far is so fantastic and surprising, I'm reluctant to go there, but I'll throw you a few more bones to chew on:
(1) Trust in the words of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: "Don't panic."
(2) Shows like Lost, Damages, Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men and Dexter are grandmaster chess. The writers are Kasparov, and we are...not. In short, we're getting played (and it feels so good).
(3) Just because we're getting flash-forwards does not mean we learn now how it all turns out. Being at the "beginning of the end" means we're actually smack in the middle of the story. All the happily (n)ever afters for our Losties are not going to be revealed in this here second act of the story, so y'all just simmer down now! There's still plenty at stake.

Huzzah! Hurley kicking it all off!!! His episodes tend to be levity-laden. What a change that will be, I hope that some direness is injected somehow somewhere!
I guess that for Hurley's episode we'll see Leonard, the doctor and Charlie, which has become was Dave was, Hurley's imaginary friend.

about hurley episode... from the promo's we know charlie will show up as the dead lostie and from the spoiler we had a while back jack will make an appearance in hurley's FF! the flasback character must have been hurley's imaginary friend (what was his name?)...i cant wait! only 23 days left!!!

Anyway, "More than once" makes me nervous to all the bones in my body. I don't know why, but I guess I have to prepare myself so well to watch all the new episode... because of Jate and of course, becuase of the show too ;) and I really hope that I could hear teh four words from Kate's mouth finally, though I don't think it would happen so fast.

On-island, Jack and Kate are "together" in season 4.. off-island in the mid-future, they're not... season 5, back on-island for the 2nd time, Kate is back with Sawyer... and in season 6, she's back with Jack again. Or nobody.
It's the whole Lois and Clark thing again... maybe they'll rename Lost to "Kate, Jack & Sawyer: The New Adventures of Lost"?
Or... what I'd do if I were the writers... I'd kill off Sawyer and put an absolute line under this whole thing. Then, perhaps, kill off Juliet as well just to make sure that there are zero triangle possibilities.
It doesn't surprise me in the least that Kristin Veitch often refuses to answer questions about a certain TV pairing considering that a certain fanbase is notorious for sending her hate-mail or writing hateful comments about her on her own website as well as other message boards. She ships Sawyer and Kate, so what? She isn't the only journalist who talks openly about her TV couple preferences. Michael Ausiello, for example, does the same damn thing.

I think she once said that she receives hate-mail from Jack & Kate fans but I don't have the time to check all her columns. Anyways, I've seen J&K fans bash Kristin Veitch in the comments section of her own website, accusing her of being the reason for the big shipping war because of that one poll in the summer and so on and so forth.
Who the hell cares if Kristin Veitch is biased in regard to Sawyer and Kate? I think she has made it quite clear that she loves that couple so I don't get why you call her a hypocrite. I have the feeling you would think differently about her if she were a J&K fan considering that your fangroup didn't call Michael Ausiello a hypocrite when he used to be pro Jack & Kate.
As far as I know, Kristin Veitch works as a journalist in a country that allows freedom of speech. She doesn't like the Jack character and admits it, fine. Judging from the online poll at the biggest TV messsage board on the internet (TWOP), she isn't the only person who feels that way. She's only one journalist of many so I don't get why her opinion bothers you so freaking much. If it makes you angry, don't read her column. It's so easy. Calling someone names because of silly couple preferences is immature and childish IMO.

Kristen follows an old show biz tradition.
She's today's equivalent of the old print gossip columnists (Hedda Hopper, Louella Parsons, Walter Winchell, all famously).
They openly and admittedly play - and switch - favorites, to get folks to read and discuss their opinions.
The studios - and Lost - have always used them to keep interest in their shows at a high level.

If I remember correctly, Kristin used to be very open in regard to her preferences but she doesn't talk about her preferences anymore because she received so much hate mail.
I never said that I love Kristin. She's a journalist to me, like all the others. I just don't get why some people make such a fuss about her comments. Eonline isn't the Time magazine for heaven's sakes. It's mainly a gossip and entertainment website, something like People magazine. Like I said if her comments bother you, don't read her column. It's that easy. And her comments about the Jack character/Matthew Fox (although I don't remember any obvious anti remarks about the actor right now) weren't nearly as bad as some of the stuff I've seen other journalists write about certain celebrities, especially sports journalists can be pretty harsh. Kristin Veitch is an angel compared to those people.
BTW, what do you think about the writer who wrote the script for the movie knocked up. That was some serious Matthew Fox bashing right there. Kristin Veitch doesn't even come close to that.
BTW, I found her comment in one of her columns. It was in her OOU recap. Considering that it was written post I do, I would guess that she's refering to J&K fans:

God, enough with the triangle stuff. It's starting to kill my enjoyment of the show. I would have less of an issue, personally, with all this shipping stuff if the romantic relationships between Lost's characters hadn't reached such an intensely important level that people felt the need to make portmanteaus like Skate and Jate out of them.
The Hurely and Ben stuff is interesting, but I think we've always suspected Ben's reach went way beyond the island.

Here is the writer's explanation for that and as you can see it wasn't meant as bashing, but to illustrate how jealousy can make people act stupid. But how great for MF to actually be popular enough to warrant a shout out in a movie and people actually know who they're talking about.

I do not care at all about jate or skate, (or hate, for that matter). And I generally think Kristen is often on the wrong side of trying to be too clever... But...
I want to emphasize what someone else wrote, which is that Kristen has no obligation to be "unbiased" or "objective." She is generally a *columnist*, not a reporter. (Though there is an element of faux "investigation" to Kristen's work, the previous blogger is correct in stating that Kristen is a essentially new breed of the same old Hollywood p.r. columnist. Just watch the classic films "All About Eve" or "Sweet Smell of Success" to understand the role of the Hollywood collumist.)
To a certain extent she gets *paid* to have biases and then write about them.

Just wait and see... all Kristin mentioned was, that the first four episodes made her fall asleep, as far as any romance between J&J ist concerned. No big surprise! It'll just continue in good old Lost fashion... with the beginning of a new season it'll be all hectic again and I bet the kiss from the finale isn't even mentioned or adressed for a whole while. They'll stick together, give each other looks and smiles, but that'll be it for a while. I wouldn't expect any serious Jacket stuff before Juliets next flashback episode. I have a feeling that it will come sometime in the long run (if they let her live long enough), and if it does it will be a big surprise to all viewers. That could be one of the things Kristin adressed with "don't panic". But who knows.

Didn't she killed Picket, one of her people, to protect Sawyer and Kate because Ben promised to let her go? Perhaps only 6 of the Losties are rescued (plus Juliet) because of her. One of the reasons why Jack feels guilty. He mistakely trusted her.

Don't you think that other characters are also an option? For example Sun or Jin? I mean, Sun knows she is pregnant and that she's gonna die if she doesn't get off the island. We've also seen in her flashbacks that she can be quite deceiving and manipulative. She already lied and got the cleaning lady fired when she was a child. Not to mention that Jin will surely try everything he can to save his wife and his baby.
If Juliet is the traitor, big deal. I think 90% of the fanbase believes that she is it anyway. I must admit though that I actually would kind of enjoy it if she does indeed betray Jack.

She was the traitor or the spy on episode 3x16... until she told Jack after episode 3x18. The writers are smart, the won´t give us the same "traitor", I think that they´ve possibly prepared a big shock with who might be, I don´t know. Or maybe Locke is wrong and there ir no traitor, but in any case his afirmation will make the losties to have serious doubts about each other...

We don't know in which context Locke said there was a traitor, why, and if he knew anything else about Juliet besides the tape he gave to Sawyer.
Perhaps the traitor is somebody else (I hope not Sayid). I just feel Juliet is not to be trusted.
Besides, she is too good at being inscrutable to be transformed into a trustworthy person.
Let's wait and see her FB with Goodwin/Etham/Tom to get to know the woman a little bit better. Meanwhile, I'll keep an eye on her :)

It's been stated elsewhere that Jack does a 'deal' with the freighter people that results in the 'Oceanic 6' leaving the island.
I believe Locke is somehow privy to this 'deal' and confronts the group at large (who will not be leaving) to inform them of the 'traitor in their midst'
The traitor is Jack.
Don't ask me why, but I think that, by some ironic twist, the traitor in their midst is Locke. I know, I know, Locke lovers are going to jump all over me...if they even read this (please don't please don't please don't). I used to like Locke. I still like Locke...I want to like Locke...but he's not on the level. He's getting played, and I think that, in the end,he and Jack will cause equally as much damage.

Sorry but I have no interest in another mud-fight over a man, especially not over a man like Jack. That whole Left Behind episode was an insult to women and the fact that it was written by Elizabeth Sarnoff (or Smarnoff) makes it even worse.
