WORK. betcha horace is jacob
Hopefully the combined awesomeness of episode 9 and 11 will make me forget episode 10 ever existed.
agreed jake. everyone knew about christian, showing him for 10 seconds doesnt make an episode good. if i wanted to see an episode like tonights id watch desperate housewives
Hmm, is Horace speaking to Locke on this picture?
USA PROMO
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5a36f_promo-may-1_lifestyle
@Lucario,
I doubt it. Because in the promo he says "He's been waiting for you for a long time" He = Jacob. So if Horace was Jacob wouldnt he just say "I've been waiting for you?"
Just a thought.
word silent i just noticed that. but maybe hes pulling some tricky stuff, some kind of lostish diversion. i just jumped to that conclusion cause the hair/hairline from jacobs shadow looks a bit similar. i suppose we shall see!
ep 11 looks awesome...
episode 11 just looks soooo good! Can't wait :) "....probably beacause i've been dead for 12 years." HOLY CRAP!
Would LOVE a screencap of that map...
Is Hurley chopping wood? wtf?
Thought it was cool that this trailer started with a close up of Locke's eye. Wonder if that's how the episode will begin.
Also, it seemed like there was a part where Keamy fires at Michael but it doesn't go off.
BEN: Horace Goodspeed! I don't believe it! I thought you were dead!
HORACE: I was!
Horace has a nosebleed in the US promo.... Desmond and Minkowski had nosebleeds when they were jumping around in time. hmmmm
Keamy is the biggest badass, but it looks like island still won't let Michael die - the gun didn't fire. Also... what's with Captain Gault?!?! He's plotting with Sayid and Desmond as if he's on "our side" now!
Hurley chopping wood?
That's a little...random haha.
Sweet promos though! :D
think it was goodspeed chopping the wood
It's not Hurley, is it? I thought it was Horace.
It could definitely be Horace. I'm terrible at figuring out who is who in promos haha. A lot of promo shots flash by so fast that I mix up characters.
Least I got the 'chopping wood' part right hehe :P
ok so 12 years for goodspeeds death(dharma purge)... alex was 16...
so that means there is 4 year of alex with no ben or with ben...
was alex a dharma...
things don't sink up on this one
@jake and lucario
Guys....tonights episode was awesome. Not just the CS tease but because it felt like a season 1 episode with the mystery and creepiness.
@silent impression
He actually says "WE'VE been waiting for you a long time."
Perhaps Jacob is a collective and not just one person?
@sean d
Horace had a nosebleed when he died because of the gas. Roger had one too.
Now here is what I noticed. If you pause at 18 seconds in, you can see they are looking at a blue map with the word cabin next to some wavy lines. Ben probably has a map on how to predict where Jacob's cabin will be?
there were two shots very similar to the last season finale, sayid and juliette in the beach, and sun, claire and aaron on the beach....what is going on!!!!
yeah horace probably will time travel, who knows maybe sent by widmore...
this is getting creepy
YES!!!! Locke is clueless no more! (hopefully!)
And (at the risk of being hated all over this site) I think Keamy is awesome! ;)
I'm pretty sure that Horace said "We've been waiting for you..."
I'm pretty sure that Jacob isn't just one person. I'm starting to think that Jacob is a sort of well of souls of the afterlife.
Guys, i know this is sort of off topic here, but i didn't know where else to ask the question.
do you guys have any ideas why Jack is not supposed to raise Aaron? who is supposed to raise Aaron?
I know the psychic said something about if Claire doesn't bring up the baby herself there's danger for everyone or something along these lines. oh and that Aaron needs the good nature of Claire in him.
also something else i remembered from season 1, when Sun and Charlie take turns to look after Aaron so Claire can get some sleep, Charlie can't get the baby to stop crying, that's when he asks Sawyer to read to them cos Aaron stops crying when sawyer is talking. any ideas guys? are we meant to assume that Sawyer should raise him as an alternative to Claire??!!
daniel- those shots are from the first two episodes of Season 4. Claire/Sun/Rose at the Radio Tower talking about Bernard and Charlie being heroes; Sayid and Juliet on the beach deciding to go look for Jack and Kate.
I loved the Freighter Four this episode. Miles ain't a bad guy, Dan/Charlotte helped out, and Frank herded Keamy and co. away from Sawyer's group. We know that Dan and Miles are safe until season 5, and Frank will likely sacrifice his life in the finale, but I hope Charlotte doesn't die, if only to keep poor Dan's puppydog heart from shattering.
something doesn't blow up, so therefore it sucks. doesn't anyone care about good acting anymore?. comparing this show to desperate housewives!?! ok then.
Horace....?!
And I thought the Zombie Season was just a joke
the most important thing is what ben says...
...and how he says it
Why must everybody give their hopes up?
It's just going to turn out that Locke sees him in that scene and nobody else does.
Err ok so Benjamin Linus is like 24-25 years old?
Looks like another awesome episode! After watching Kate grabbing Jack's butt and Jack grabbing Kate's butt whiile making out in the corridor of their house, i really think Darlton and the writesrs are at their very best this season ^^!
Where is Claaaaaaire!
Claire is in Jacob's shack with Christian :)
Waw, can't wait to find out what happened to Claire.... SO 4X12 could actually be a Claire-centered...
I'm so relieved that neither CLaire, nor Sawyer died in 4X10...
Someone could write me please a transcript?
If Claire dies this season, I'm seriously gonna be done with the show. I'm not an ultimatum person, but its at the point where they're killing off character's based on the fan's taste. I mean, they even said they wanted to center the Oceanic 6 (minus Sawyer and Locke) on the character faves since the beginning.
If they kill off Claire because she hasn't always been a 'fan favorite', i'm going to be pissed. Charlie died to save Claire, and what a waste that would be.
God, this looks bloody awesome. Good to see Sayid again. He is such a reasonable, independent guy. After Jack he is definitely on place 2 of my personal ‘sane heroes list’
On the ‘not so sane heroes list’ John Locke is the all time Nr. 1. I have a feeling he will make up for a lot in this episode. John is going to kick asses next week!
At least I hope so ;)
And man, how did Horace come back to life? Ben probably will not be amused.
Ben is like 40.
And can someone tell me what Keamy says in the first promo? I can't quite make it out.
Carly...
Yeah it was great to Sayid again. He's one of my two favorite characters.
Too bad it's gonna be him in the coffin.
I still think the best line is "There are consequences to being choosen."
So does Ben choose? Does Jacob choose? Do they choose amongst themselves?
I CAN'T WAIT!!!
wow this looks like its gonna be an amazong episode!!!! cant wait for the locke flashbacks!! :)
this episode will be so much better than the one just gone.
uzair-
The Dharma Initiative was founded in 1970, and Ben was at least 8-9 years old when he came to the island. If the Purge was 12 years before the whole Oceanic 815 debacle, that'd place it at around 1992. Ben was in his early 30s at the time, so that'd place him somewhere in his early 40s in the present time.
It should be noted also that he is younger than Locke by at least 4 years, who was born in 1956.
Also, if you piece together the promo it looks like Locke wakes up and "now" knows where they're supposed to go. Perhaps his encounter with Horace Goodspeed is an inspired dream, much like when Locke dreamed he was Eko and found The Pearl Station.
when are we gonna get the sneak peaks??? i am excited! lol :)
ABOUT TRIANGLE & 4X10
if I could, I say to cuse and lindelolf that history so it is unlikely.
I'm a skater but today i saw a big kate's feeling for jack, but she undermines this story(because sawyer is always in his thoughts and not imports protect what appears to be a great story if this means put aside sawyer)
but what kind of woman is kate?
I love her but his character was ruined
triangles enough, we want a story that has a logical sense!
I thought last night's episode was just going to be a set up for next week and the finale. I could care less about Jack and Kate getting together in the future off the island. The only big thing we got was that Jack's dad is now showing up like Charlie and for some reason Jack isn't supposed to raise Aaron. That goes back to what the psychic told Claire. Then there is the whole Claire is missing now and looks like she's with Jack and Claire's dad. So, where did they go? And how are Charlie and Jack/Clair's dad showing up? I think it's the island itself making them appear to Hurley and Jack.
Like I said, I thought this episode was a set up for next week. So, it wasn't as good as the rest of the season has been. However, you have to have one of these every now and then to set the stage for future episodes. I think we are now set up for an awesome episode next week with Locke and for an incredible finale.
"Jacob is Jacob"
The one quote from TPTB that I hope they never disregard. If he turns out to be Christian, Horace or anyone else it'l be a tad lame. In any case, all signs point to him being ancient.
I think Jacob asks Locke to do something big and it's something he totally wasn't expecting. Maybe along the same moral lines as the purge. One promo shot seems to show Locke leaving the cabin but looking back with what can only be described as a wtf?! expression.
Look at the blue map in the second promo. The 'cabin' is actually marked on it and looks like some kind of anomaly with forces arcing from it.
"There are consequences to being chosen" I think Claire has been chosen her the consequence is that she is (for now) separated from Aaron, and now it's Ghost Charlie's 'mission' to make sure Aaron is reunited with Claire, who I think it's safe to assume is still alive...but I have a feeling she's somehow trapped. To kill off Claire would be kinda...mean, after what Charlie did for her and the baby.
girl_wonder - i agree. that what i think will happen too. makes sense. :)
so is that why Jack is not supposed to raise Aaron? is that what Charlie's trying to do, get Aaron back to his mom?
Man this episode is going to make up for the travesty that was last night.
hmmm. locke is the chosen one. and i guess claire is the negotiating tool. BE OUR NEO, OR THE CHICK GETS IT!
ha ha, but really. she could be being held for safety. if the rules have changed, and killing people's kids is now an option, then she might be at risk. (thinking of christian setting vincent out to do "work" leads me to believe he's not just manipulated dead, but also a player in ben's and widmore's game.) that makes sun at risk, too.
quick thought: do you suppose nadia could have been preggers when she was killed? other than pissing off sayid, what's the motive behind that? (assuming it wasn't ben who actually had her offed.)
oh well, i guess if claire's not found by rescue time, then there's your reason right here as to why sawyer stays behind and kate's all hurt about it.
I vehemently disagree that last night's episode was lame. Of course, it wasn't as good as the Desmond episode or last week's but, it was packed with interesting info. What is Kate doing for Sawyer? Who was she talking to on the phone? She seemed to be describing Jack's movements. Why is Hurley convinced that the Oceanic 6 are dead? Is it just because Charlie visits him or is there more? Jack tells Kate that she's not even related to Aaron. Does that mean he knows that he is? If he knows, why didn't he want to go near the child at first? Why is Miles so interested in the baby? And then, where did Clair go? She would never leave Aaron, especially in the middle of the jungle with Keamy around? What would convince her to do that?
This episode may not have had the grand emotional arc or the jaw-dropping events of other eps from this season but, as someone said earlier, it definitely lays the groundwork for greater episodes ahead. Every so often you need that.
t.l.a--re Jacob asking Locke to do something unconscionable: yup, that's why I was dreading a baby-napping scenario. Last night's ep (probably) quelled that fear, but I do think Locke is going to finally have a real moral dilemma, where he has to choose between the island's or jacob's mission for him, and doing actual harm to innocent people. As has been discussed ad nauseum here, his claim that everything he's done has been for the good of everyone is can still be justified. I think he's going to reach a point where his actions will be totally unambiguous, depending on what choice he makes.
I'm actually looking forward to that--I suuuure hope he makes the right choice...
Why didn't ABC just skip 4x10 and air 4x11 last night? I don't care about Jack or Kate stuff anymore, unless they are related to some mysterious. Well, all that Hurley-Charlie-Christian thing was good, but not great, and it was very very few.
Sometimes I have doubt that the writers of this show think that the show is a soap opera or smth.
As a skater I can't see Kate with Jack but...to me its clear that they are not destined to be together, he is as unhappy as he was with Sarah, so I'm with
maverdiani who said...
Charlie can't get the baby to stop crying, that's when he asks Sawyer to read to them cos Aaron stops crying when sawyer is talking. any ideas guys? are we meant to assume that Sawyer should raise him as an alternative to Claire??!!also something else i remembered from season 1, when Sun and Charlie take turns to look after Aaron so Claire can get some sleep, Charlie can't get the baby to stop crying
By the way, was one of these kisses the "spectacular" kiss TPTB said, cause as I thought is not spectacular at all...its were simples as all Jack's kisses.
And one thing more, we have a perfect clue here in this episode, Hurley says they are died and its true at least he and Jack, but Kate ...she is not insane.
I'm angry with Kate, I almost throw it up...and NO, things wont be the same to me with her.
sawyerrules - "By the way, was one of these kisses the "spectacular" kiss TPTB said, cause as I thought is not spectacular at all...its were simples as all Jack's kisses."
dont worry the spectacular kiss happens in the finale. and the jate kisses werent even that great. the best kisses are the first kisses and the kisses that happen when couples are not actually in a realtionship as it is unexpected, not the "we're in an established relationship kind of kisses". so these definately were not the specatular kisses.
also i think think the fact that we have seen plenty of jate kisses in this episode makes a spectacular jate finale kiss unlikely. i still think it wil be skate in the future or des and penny. :)
if what someone said above is true .. that Sawyer doesn't leave the island cos he wants to find Claire, what gives the right to Kate to take the baby with her? that is just so mean if that scenario is to be true.
the baby belongs with his mother unless they are sure that she's gone for good or a long long time.
they'd better have a good reason as to why Kate has Aaron!!
it's now very unlikely the spectacular kiss is Jate. I odn't think it's Skate either. I'm putitng my money on Desmon/Penny. it's a couple everyone likes and it'd be really nice and emotional. I know a lot of people think it could be Sawyer/Claire, now it's not to say it can't happen in the future but the kiss is suppose to take place off island and with charlie's death ever so present i think that's unlikely too. although i'll admit i'd definetly would like to see that, haha.
shouldn't there a be sneak peek already online for next week's ep? what sites post those?
"I'm putitng my money on Desmon/Penny. it's a couple everyone likes and it'd be really nice and emotional."
i really would love that, but hasnt there been a spoiler saying the kiss will be 'triangle complicating'? :)
i think that if they are going to actually call it 'spectacular', it has to be spectacular for everyone. everyone has to enjoy it. des and penny are the only couple that everyone likes, so it would be great if it was them, but that wouldnt complicate the triangle.
Ok so I think we witnessed the beginning of Jack's future drug/drinking/hygiene problem...yes?
I can't wait to get the info on what happens between last night's episode and the flash forward at the end of season 3.
Also, does anyone else now think that when Kate said, "He'll be wondering where I am." in that last ep of season 3, that she might be talking about Sawyer instead of Aaron? I might be off, but she did call Sawyer "him" last night. Thoughts?
skate? jate? this is getting way retarded. for fans of such an intelligent show, you reduce the interactions of the characters to annoying anagrams à la 'brangelina' and the like.
who cares who is going to kiss who? a) it's a tv show b) there are way cooler and FAR more compelling storylines and mysteries to focus on.
if this kind of thing is what rocks your socks off... go watch desperate housewives or something. or go read some trashy harlequin with a jack or sawyer lookalike on the cover, depending on your preference ;)
**********************************
d - when she called sawyer "him", i did consider that she might talking about sawyer as well. i think it is a possibilty. after all, if it was quite late at night, like it was, why would aaron be wondering where she was? he would be asleep. having said that, it is prpbably aaron anyway.
@ Surly
It's Ben's line in that promo that's worrying. What I'm reading into it is 'You could end up like me John'. These promos are always such a puzzle. I also got the feeling Horace was the counter argument to whatever Jacob said to Locke but with closer inspection it seems he's actually directing him toward the 'cabin'.
I guess it's a party for the myth-freaks next week eh? :)
What says the announcer in the abc promo? "from the every corner of the island... and one man...??
What I'm confused is people all saying how last night's episode was a waste. Besides people on the boards, MOST people love the triangle.
I'm at work right now and I'm just waiting for this girl upstairs to come down and get all giddy over Jack and Kate.
That's the mainstream audience, we're the minority here.
I'm not saying I'm a Jater or Skater... I actually like both and would be happy either way... but as much as WE'D like to see the mythological questions answered, every person in my office could really care less about the Monster if it means preventing a relationship to move forward.
That being said, this preview looks fantastic!
Why would Horrace, a DHARMA employee, speak on behalf of Jacob? Is Jacob apart of DHARMA?
AND-- I think Claire is possessed by the Island. There's no way a conscience Claire would leave Aaron just in the middle of the jungle... she's under a "spell", if you will.
One man (Locke) will get a glimpse into his destiny.
@t.l.a:
Yes, it'll be one of those nights when my husband won't be able to touch the remote after 7pm. Sure, Lost is 2 hours away...but I don't want to take any chances. And if he's not careful, I may whip out the duct tape for his mouth...or banish him to the bedroom with a book. No distractions allowed!
Man, I hope Locke's "glimpse" answers some questions for him--and us.
And yes, Ben's line reminded me a great deal of the "John Locke will pay a price" comment from the Emerson interview we were hashing over a few days ago. Verrrry innterrrestinnng...
locke's other kidney said... Yeah it was great to Sayid again. He's one of my two favorite characters.
Too bad it's gonna be him in the coffin.
Hey yes, I'm thinking that too. He is the only person I think Jack would react the way he did.
Surly, normally I would consider duct tape and rough-house tactics extreme in a domestic setting...but frankly, anyone who dosen't partake in the bliss that is Lost needs to see the error of their ways ;)
I had Emerson pegged as a wandering theorist like the rest of us but yes, there does always seem to be some cryptic truth in his words.
Aren't there any sneak peaks out yet??
See Please Here
ODI, any way you can delete gardagami's comment please? The link is not LOST related.
At 0:06 you can see Claire kind of changing Aaron's diaper or playing with him. Sun is next to her, happily passing Rose a bottle of water... Ok, now this puts the idea of Sawyer and Claire not getting to see the O6 before they leave in the trashcan and I really thought it was going to happen that way because now I don't see how they're going to get separated (Claire and Aaron)...
Well, I still don't know about Sawyer, but is very likely he's there too, wherever they are, which is not the beach, btw... looks like a steepy place, maybe close to the radio tower...
Can't say much about Locke, Ben, Hurley and that guy other than is going to be freaking AWESOME!
Keamy's scene(s) with Michael will be priceless... I just want to see what he's going to do when he sees he can't kill him... now, who's going to mop what? Also we'll have more of the mysterious Capt. Gault... I like it!
Seriously, can't wait for this episode!
ana - omg, i just looked at the screencap of the part you are talking about. i'm confused! claire and aaron got sepated and then they are together again? are we sure this is not a clip from a previous episode? TTLG maybe? :)
@t.l.a:
My husband used to call Lost "Drama Queen Island," which I thought was pretty dead-on, at any rate. Now he tolerates it. I think the Phillip K Dick reference changed his mind... a little.
I think he just misunderstands my interest in Locke. It's purely philosophical. I swear. (Is there an emoticon that represents panting?)
@locke's other kidney: It is Sayid in the coffin??? Is that for real? Or are you guessing? Where do you know that from? maybe I missed something....
I'm 99% certain that scene with Sun and Claire is taken from 'The beginning of the end'.
It's very lame to throw unrelated scenes into the promo mix at this stage too I might add.
Two further observations: Gault seems to be entertaining Sayid's words. And there are distinct helicopter sounds as the people on the beach look out to sea.
Maybe, Isabelle, but then I don't get why it seems to be the only clip from the past... if it is, then they really want to mess up with our minds.
BTW, Keamy is bringing up the heavy stuff to put an end to Michael's life... that's going to be fun... XD
After that, maybe he'll go back to island swimming... LOL
@ Surly
I think the connections between John Locke and philosophy are sufficiently strong to support your cover story, nice work ;)
My library of emoticons dosen't extend beyond winks, smiles and bemusement unfortunately.
t.l.a. is right its a scene from TBOTE were Rose gives a bottle of water to Sun and talks with Claire about Charlie. My guess is that we wont see Claire next episode.
@ TIA good point about locke (sorry this is many comments back--the one about jacob asking him to do something that may involve innocent people being hurt). maybe this is going to be the moment in which he kind of feels for ben, hence ben's comment "there are consequences to being chosen". i think its going to be a great epi!!!
oh and can anyone make out what kimmy is saying after "tell me how many people on that island..."thanks so much!
Maybe Jack's Dad comes for Claire because Claire really died in that house explosion.
She left Aaron behind because it was not his time (he is not dead)
That is probably why Miles the Ghost Whisperer is so interested in Claire. Maybe he can sense something is wrong.
Maybe, it being a Locke flashback, there will be flashbacks to The Beginning of the End.
@ Lost, MD
Keamy also wants to know exactly where everyone is. Ominous to say the least.
Yes, I get the feeling Jacob's 'what to do next' briefing may include something crazy. But I don't think it will include killing innocents. I still like to believe that despite his creepiness, Jacob is essentially good.
The most intriguing thing for me is the map showing the location of the cabin and more specifically, how it's depicted. I'll bet there's gonna be a theory or two about that :)
@Lost, MD
Something like: "Tell me exactly how many people are on that island and where each single one of them is"
He's so angry he mumbles XD my guess is this is after the Michael thing.
It's 18 seconds into the ABC promo if anyone's interested.
That map kind of reminds me of the style of the one that was painted on the hatch's security system door, the one Kelvin's partner did...
Thanks ODI & everyone for the promos & screencaps. They look amazing!! I can't wait for this episode. Its gonna be the best episode yet!!
Horace is definately chopping wood.
It looks like Locke has found Jacob's cabin, at long last. Hopefully we will find out what Locke's true mission is when Jacob told him to help him. Or maybe Jacob will give him another mission. Its interesting that Claire, Ben & Hurley joined them too.
Also the map looks cool too.
Can't wait.
Hopefully it'll be better than last nights eppy. It was awful.
It was like a slap in the face when they kept only showing Christian for like 2 seconds!
i cant believe some of ya'll didnt like this episode. hurleys part was the best to me. he said he thinks they are dead and he hangs out with charlie still. remember charlie saying "i'm dead but i'm here" i dont know if the island is heaven and the real world is hell or what. but i'm glad that some of the things i thought are turning true. like jacks downward spiral came at the hands of his father visions like charlie and hurley. i wonder if kate, sayid, and sun also see someone and who that someone is. and when they start to go crazy.
and the other part was kate doing something for sawyer. i hate coniving sneaky lying women like kate. u can never fully trust them. was she doing something for sawyer or with a vision of sawyer. did it have something to do with his daughter? or something to do with ben or widmore? she seemed like she was pulling a con-job for sawyer, or prostituting for some information.
frozen donkey wheel i cant wait, and i'm glad to see goodspeed also i never thought he was really dead on that bench. i always felt he was jacob, i hope he gets some serious screen time. and we get to see richard again also dont we?
LOL...
It's so funny I made the comment about Kelvin's partner and the map he did and then Radzinsky himself made a comment too after mine. Nice coincidence... XD
and why is goodspeed choppin wood anyway. is he down with the others. he never seem dead on that bench. what is he choppin fire wood for the night. or is he chopping wood for another cabin. who's cabin will this be, john lockes cabin, bens cabin, is he building a new barracks, what is he doing?????
is jacob working for goodspeed, did goodspeed manipulate the whole purge in the first place. was dharma's destiny to come to the island and die, so they could live forever.
charlie, christain sheppard, goodspeed, ms.hawkings. they all have something in common they are trying to guide someone in a certain direction. but who works for who. and will minkowski come up again in someones flashback, since he's stuck in the past he died in the present maybe he'll try to guide someone somewhere also
i luv it
I think Claire is already dead too, because she wouldn't just leave Aaron. I think the island can manifest into a body (a physical body) that has dies. The body still has a "physical--ness" to it so it can hold the baby, the trees move when CS/Yemi walk, etc. It would explain Miles being so interested in her. As for the screencap in the promo with her on the beach, as others have said that is from episode 1 (when they talk of Charlie and Bernard being the hero).
not only do we see claire and sun together in the screencaps but if you slow the promo down, you see Sayid and Juliet on the beach too. i can't tell if these are previous scenes they're just using or something new...i can't believe we'll be seeing Sayid and Juliet just chillin on Lost beach next episode.
and i thought last night's ep was great. of course not the best ever but there can only ever be one "best". people who are bored by the whole triangle need to remember that what Darlton has said from the start of this show is that it is about RELATIONSHIPS - and yes, that would include romantic ones. lots of people write away saying that they don't care about the triangle, etc. but what is this show about if it's not about how these people relate to each other? some happen to relate in a romantic way. i know the hard-core internet fans seem to be either very PRO or ANTI shipping, but remember that the majority of people watching this show are not - they are interested in probably ALL of the relationships being shown and fall in the middle. you can bash the whole jack/kate/sawyer thing all you want but it's part of what draws people into this show and makes them care about who these people are and what happens to them. look at Desmond - he ws interesting when he 1st came on but his relationship w/Penney and where that mystery is going to take us really seems ot be what has endeared him to fans. and last night's ep was about so much more that just eye candy for Jate fans (or whatever outcome you predict for Skate fans) - it was about propelling the story forward...most people wondered at the end of TTL what had caused Jack to flip out and last night was part of that. it opened up new mysteries. gave hope to all THREE sets of triangle fans (and maybe 4 if you count claire/sawyer). of couse it was not "Constant" but everyone who is whining about it being like a soap opera or DH, remember that a huge part of what made The Constant so great was the Des/Pen romance.
Love...and hate...make the world go round!
oh and claire left cause she thought Christian had aaron. she was following them. didn't anyone else get that?
does anyone else find it odd that Horace has a bloody nose one minute and not the next? i mean, if the gas is the explaination for it, then why do we see it in one pic and not another? makes me think it's more along the lines of time travel somehow. will locke recognize this? no because he never knew of what happened to des on the boat...but will BEN realize what it means (if he's there to witness this scene)?
Horace goodspeed
*speculation*
His nose is not bleeding and then it is bleeding: obivious suggestion: time travel
Question: so it is not necessary to have a living body at hand to impersonate when traveling into the future? =)
Lucylein...
I can neither confirm nor deny that Sayid is in the coffin. I can confirm that it's hunch on my part. Remember when Sayid tortured Ben in the hatch? Once Ben is done using him, I think Sayid is gonna be toast.
Man Ep. 11 looks awesome :)
nodecode:
makes the whole "we're dead" comment by Hurley that much more interesting, don't you think? if Horace is dead, is Locke? Ben?
@Locke's other kidney: Thanks for clearing this up. I was just confused because you sounded so sure about this. I thought I missed a spoiler :P
And jenny, you are right. Claire probably thought the Christian has the baby and followed him...but who placed Aaron in the trees???
Like b, I also believe that the ghostly apparitions are the island manifesting itself as someone who either died on the island (Charlie, Horace), or whose body is on the island (Christian, Yemi). That gives me hope that we may eventually see Russeau at some point as an apparition as well.
Of course, that doesn't expain the ghost of Dave, unless he somehow ended up on the island and subsequently bit the bullet. Who knows?
"if Horace is dead, is Locke? Ben?"
As a human being of science I just have faith that it isn't so. =)
Locke's Kidney,I think that it might be Ben,Michael or Sayid.Michael is the safe choice no doubt. He popped out of nowhere and he goes out in such a lowkey way.Sayid is a semi-shock if anything. It makes sense that Sayid could bite it and it would be unsettling to most.My third pick is Ben,why Ben?That would make the most sense in that Jack is totally despondent in trying to find the Island and that was his last hope.Want to really shock the audience show Ben in the coffin. As much as I love Emerson, the story dictates it.And if they did that, they would probably clone him in the Orchid or something!
The last episode was decent, but raised the whole Jack/Kate/Sawyer thing again....which I hate!Too bad Juliet was excised from the mix.She is really great BUT I have a feeling that she will be a casualty of Season 4.She added gravity to the mix,now the same old boring Jate,Skate mess.......
Awesome Promos, Can't wait for this episode. :D.
It is not Sayid in the cf because:
1. Jack would reffer to him as a "friend"
2. Kate would want to go to the funeral
3. He had a bunch of money - too much to end up in such a neighbourhood
4. He is a celebrity - there would be press in that funeral and a much bigger article in that paper
5. Assume, he lives undercover - noone would even write about him as "Sayid Jarrah" and Jack would never understand from the paper who the man is
etc... etc... =)
Good points, nodecode. Not completely definative, but it does have me reconsidering. Esecially the point about him being a celebrity.
Plus Sayid would almost certainly be grieved in Iraq, not a funeral parlour in L.A.
In the ABC promo for next week's show there is a shot, at about 18 seconds, of a map showing the location of a cabin. If, as we were led to believe, Jacob's cabin moves around, how can there be a map of a specific location?
Looks good!
joe hogan i theorized above that perhaps we will see multiple "cabin" on the map which would indicate they mapped out where the cabins has been jumping around to.
It's really annoying me the way that a lot of people think Horace is Jacob.
Why would he be?
Plus, he says in the promo:
"He's been waiting for you"
Surely if he was Jacob, wouldn't he say:
"I'VE been waiting for you"?
Why can't Jacob be just Jacob??!?!
"There is consequences the chosen has" omg nextweek is gonna be sick!!
Nicole I couldn't agree more. I'm really adverse to the idea of Jacob being Christian Shephard or Goodspeed or whoever else. I think that would devalue him. I think he's responsible for the various apparitions of the above but that face Hurley saw in the window in TBOTE seems to be the real deal. At least I hope so, because the character of Jacob deserves some individuality.
I've been thinking some more about what nodecode said about the "celebrity" aspect... If Sayid isn't in the coffin because he's a celebrity and there would be a lot of press at the funeral, then that would rule out any member of the O6 as well. Micheal seems too obvious, but he was also the obvious choice for the man on the boat, which turned out to be him. I can't for the life of me agree that it's Ben; he's just too integral to the story. Besides, Michael Emerson is such a great talent that his loss might adversely impact Seasons 5-6.
This is the mystery that has me the most intrigued right now, and I'm glad it will be resolved in this season's finale.

"ok so 12 years for goodspeeds death(dharma purge)... alex was 16...so that means there is 4 year of alex with no ben or with ben... was alex a dharma...things don't sink up on this one"
Alex was 4 at the time of the purge. This means she must have been taken from Danielle by either Dharma (my pick-they probably thought her mom was one of those nutty hostiles) or the Hostiles. I think maybe Goodspeed adopted her and as a result she was familiar with Ben who might have befriended her missing his own dead wife and daughter. After the purge (the kids were spared I'm sure) Ben would have been the only person toddler Alex knew and she might have insisted on staying with him (as 4 year olds can do). Ben wanted to honor his old friend by taking care of his adopted daughter.
Locke's other Kidney, once again Emerson/Ben is very central to the yin and yang of the show BUT his appearance as "The Man Behind the Coffin" would be a WTF moment.People would ask how can they get back without Ben?So is Ben a ghost a clone or whatever.Damon is a big comic book fan and like in soap operas no one really dies per se.Ben could be cloned or exist in the future and die in the present.Yeah Sayid would be famous but who knows what identity Ben gave him(remember he was supposed to change it) and if he changed his physical appearance etc so on.So I don't buy the famous argument completely or any other ones.....it's Lost remember? The most likely suspect to be in the coffin is Michael, the most sensical is Ben and the least likely. If Darlton offs Ben in such a manner(like ending up in a mundane funeral home with no visitors),I would be like WHOA!THAT IS SHOCKING!But even so I don't think that Ben is dead anyway,he will have a way out somehow....remember this is Lost.
Ultimately,if it's Michael in the coffin....BORING!Same thing with a great kiss between Kate and Sawyer...Whoa whatta great surprise....not!
shieldsy29 said... YES!!!! Locke is clueless no more! (hopefully!) And (at the risk of being hated all over this site) I think Keamy is awesome! ;)
=========
Yeah... he brings evil to a new level.
He would have kicked some terrorist ass in the military :)
@T.L.A. and ana thanks! T.L.A you are right, keammy's line...after what he did to alex, i am pretty sure that his actions cant bring much good. and jacob has to be jacob...if jack's dad is a form that jacob is taking to accomplish his means that would be cool, but i agree the character of jacob is too complex. what's really interesting to me is whether the off island charlie/christian apparitions are jacob taking a form or the dead characters themselves....and more immediate interest--what is locke's job?
What occurred to me about the last ep was when the Smoke alarm started beeping and then up popped Christian....
"Smoke" alarm?
Smokie somehow off the island?
I dunno, crazy thought!
sawyerrules said... t.l.a. is right its a scene from TBOTE were Rose gives a bottle of water to Sun and talks with Claire about Charlie. My guess is that we wont see Claire next episode.
===========
Since this is the spoiler page, I will confirm we do.
In the sneak peak pictures from last week Claire is sitting in Jacob's cabin.
http://io9.com/photogallery/lost410again/1001276239 Did you guys see this yet - It looks like Lock and someone in the Cabin. If you don't want to be spoiled don't click it, but i think we all saw it going in this direction!
Was Claire ever on Jacob's list? I remember this being the case for the group of tailies that were kidnapped (by the way, will we ever see them again?) Maybe Jacob wants her to stay together with the rest of the "chosen" ones...
I loved this episode, in a different way from last episode. But both had me agape in disbelief. All of the characters - except Jack - brought their game. Rose, Bernard, Charlotte, Jin, Hurley, Sawyer, Christian, Juliet...
I loved Juliet in this episode. She was a leader, a strong woman, and very classy. I was impressed by the out that she gave Jack, Kate, and the fans. The quadrangle - that quadrangle anyway - is closed and we can all move on to more important things (so help me if they start bringing up romantic tension between Jack and his female colleague - enough already). Juliet and Kate had a few real moments in this episode, female relationship development which the writers tend to seriously disregard.
Kate was curious last night. The way she was filmed in the hallway with Jack seemed somewhat surreal, dreamlike. Regarding the phone call and her errand for Sawyer, I posted about this in the forum, but I think that Kate is on a mission as well. For her to feel so strongly that she is the right one to be taking care of the baby seems odd, and uncharacteristic of her. For her to be describing Jack in her secret phone call also seemed curious. Does Kate feel that SHE has work to do? And if so, for whom is she working? Is she working for Ben, like Sayid? Someone else? Has Christian summoned her, too?
Someone on this site suggested that Kate has not had her redemption because she did not have to serve out her sentence and does not seem to be carrying any guilt. I disagree. Look at those whom the island has protected or healed: Rose, Locke, Jin, Jin-Sun's marriage, Sawyer, Claire. These people were not without sin before the island, in particular the latter: Claire caused her mother's accident, Sawyer did quiet a bit, Sun had an affair and knowingly induced her husband to violent indebtedness to her father, Sun did Mr. Paik's deeds. Claire became a mother on the island, Sawyer is moving toward heroism and selflessness, Sun and Jin are again in love, and Jin has mostly moved away from violence to reach his own hero status. Kate's case is less clear, but one could certainly make a redemption argument for her as well -- if nothing else, devotedly raising an abandoned child (didn't seem to be on her to-do list) seems like a selfless act. Perhaps Kate is chosen/special as well.
There's been good discussion about Jack's talk with Hurley. In his defense to Kate about why he didn't tell her about his visit, Jack said, vehemently, "because he's crazy." Remind you of when he said the same about Locke, when he pulled the trigger on him? Jack seems particularly averse to mental illness, despite his comfort with psychopharmaceuticals (antidepressants, anxiety drugs). This fear of losing "rationality" and accepting the mythological could be what caused his illness in the first place, as Rose suggested.
more interesting things in SNBH:
-jak getting sick - as rose noted, people don't GET sick here, only better. altho wasn't claire sick once too?
-miles' apparent interest in claire/aaron...altho when he had the chance to be alone with them or take advantage, it looks like he didn't. from my POV it seems he is actually interested in aaron but why? his "talent" seems to be communicating w/the dead. which is also really interesting to know WHY widmore sent him there...who exactly dies he want him to communicate with?
-jack saying to kate "*I* saved you!" does he just mean by his words at her trial or did he save her as they were being rescued? did he chose her over someone else? claire? a large number of people?
-also, does jack know he is related to claire & aaron? his words seemed to indicate he does...if so HOW does he find ths out and when?
-Charolette speaks Korean! and she was especially shifty in this ep. does she like Daniel? will she keep her promise to Jin? did Daniel really just want to help getting medical supplies to earn trust or...?
Horace Goodspeed with an Axe...shades of The Tinman anybody????
Check out the logs of wood behind him. Such as one would use to construct a cabin perhaps? ;)
It seems like, there won´t be any scenes from beach..that would be aweosme, I hate that Jacket, Jate and, and....In ep 10 was it enouch, it´s time for break... but that promo looks awesome.. it seem like Horace beat up Ben...:D..I can´t wait...!
