Any synopsis/transcription, please? Or most interesting moments?
RE: the question that had to do with the Tempest.
Why did Damon say he never wanted to write that scene? I really don't get it. Why write it if you don't want to? Maybe they felt they needed an explanation for how the Purge was executed?
Thoughts?
they have mentioned things about the purge in the past. i don't remember where or word for word, but one thing i remember is they said the purge was an "island-wide event" or something to that effect. that was long before they revealed ben using the canister was merely because they wanted him to have a more involved role in his father's death. which is something they also revealed later. they could have explained it in several ways, but it being something controlled by dharma is what i always expected. the tempest was nice and all, but the way they wrote it in sucked. instead of making a whole episode about it, they should have spread that storyline over several episodes. you could have one episode where daniel and charlotte started talking and plotting about visiting a dharma station to do a mission, next episode could have them talk and reveal what dharma station and what their mission was, towards the end of the episode they could gear up and leave in the dark. next episode could have them tracking and having a moral debate about whether they wanted to aid keamy and his men. they could play on the fact that maybe daniel and charlotte didn't actually know what Keamy and his guys were up to, but one of them could have doubts while the other was more interested in getting the mission done to start working on the things they're "really there for", which in itself could be a reveal that would pay off in season five. in the meantime, the people who went after them could still have gone after them, just maybe show less trekking-footage from their journey or something, if they needed to cut down space. they could have given the more important beach-dweller-scenes more focus, and have a couple of scenes from the jungle like when jules met harper. eventually they'd get to the station but the whole thing shouldn't have been over within the matter of minutes. i dunno, i'm not a script writer but i would think those who are could have made a better run with it maybe. the whole thing was rushed. sorry for a cluttered post.
@ coaltrain
Damon was referring to the scene where Charlotte walks Kate around the Tempest station and explains everything to her, which we never saw, because it was never written, hence Damon's statement.
perfect
Could of would of should of.
There was a writers strike involved during this season remember? Many things weren't included that could have been. I thought The Tempest was covered accurately enough in one episode, especially since they were trying to give us everything we were supposed to get pre writers strike.
Yeah Damon's statment was kind of a joke. He came up with that story sitting there, as what really happened with Juliette and Kate when they re-entered the The Tempest was never written, it was implied.
